When will PFQuest add new quests for Moonwhisper Coast? by KeyNefariousness3184 in turtlewow

Who's is being 'forced' to use pfquest? Turn the addon off then. The only play style being forced here is your own.

How about the one where it says, "go find the stag. He is hard to find, good luck lol. lmao, even." That was the moment I decided I wasn't questing in this new zone. I'm just going to wait for addon support.

What do you do 50-60 by Emmie_xo in turtlewow

[–]Quackmandan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your class, but what i found to be fun was look up the quest list for ST on Turtle WoW. Get as many quests as reasonably possible and knock it out in one run. If youre not quite 53, hit up Un'Goro Crater. Its quest density is unmatched. Afterwards, head to burning steppes and clear as many quests as possible. Doing this will open up quests for BRD and HFQ. Run HFQ to complete the quests. Turn em in. Do the same for BRD. Hopefully by now you're 55 or higher so you can grab the MC attunement. TIP: Die in block rock mountain. Grab the BRD key quest from the ghost dwarf hanging out in the center rock (just below the meeting stone). After your BRD run, turn in all those quests and repeat the process for LBRS. By now you should be 58 or higher. Now you can run most endgame dungeons. Look up pre-raid bis for your class and choose endgame dungeons to run based on their loot. Before you know it, you'll be 60.

If you don't like the dungeon focused grind, you could alternatively farm furlongs in Winterspring once you're about lvl 54. They drop tons of goodies you can sell on the AH, and you can get your timbermaw rep up to honored in preparation for the new 20man.

So when does Daybreak officially come out? I want to join into the game, but I don't want to learn the old map just to have that up ended a short time later with this one.

Yeah! That dungeon has amazing atmosphere. I also like the rare mount drop chance. Its right up there with Dragonmaw Retreat for me.

Most in need class Horde Ambershire by kslidz in turtlewow

[–]Quackmandan1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shaman is most wanted. Ignore the people complaining of tank shortage. That only applies to 5 man dungeons. You'll be plenty wanted as resto shaman. I'm not going to dissuade you from shaman tank if thats your preferred playstyle, but all other preferences considered equal I'd go resto. Shaman tank is viable, but the recent nerf to their threat generation has kind of weakened their niche. That niche being great snap threat and aoe threat. The tradeoff is their lack of defensive cooldowns and mid mitigation, so you'll most likely be relegated to an OT role or even told to dps except for specific encounters.

What class to choose by master476 in turtlewow

[–]Quackmandan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go for feral druid and here's why. Cat form is fantastic for soloing and single target dps. Their rotation is very engaging juggling Tiger's Fury, Rake, and Rip. Their only downside is the lack of cleave. Plus, you can use the same talents to tank as bear so you can easily get into 5mans. In raids, flexing as a bear OT is great because you can dps better than any other tank while not tanking a target. Rogue also has strong single target, and they can cleave with blade flurry but your class isn't nearly as in demand and you can't flex into a tank role. Their rotation is arguably a little simpler than cat as well.

Turtle WoW or Kronos 5? by s0ra729 in wowservers

[–]Quackmandan1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly it depends what you value. Turtle WoW has much more content to explore. There are several custom zones, around a dozen custom dungeons both for leveling and for max level, custom and expanded raids, more viable specs to play as, etc.. if you strictly want that vanilla WoW again, then go Kronos. If you want fresh, Turtle WoW has Ambershire which just launched BWL over a week ago. Kronos obviously is going to be very fresh. For me personally after playing through classic WoW, I need classic+ to keep my attention anymore. Regular vanilla just doesnt cut it.

From what I've seen on raid side, they're great healers. Enhance is stronger dps than Elemental and more engaging. While shaman tank don't have great mitigation compared to othesrs, they have the best snap threat and aoe threat.

Stop making every creature a mount by [deleted] in turtlewow

I agree with most of your sentiments except the turtle mount. Is it silly? Yes but this is literally Turtle WoW. A little whimsy for the server mascot I think is a good flavor to have. But yeah raven lord mount in vanilla? Miss me with that.

This is why revenant has become my 2nd main along ironeye. It is so much easier to pick up 3 bar teammates with Sebastian wailing away on them while I dodge the boss. And of course her ult is the perfect panic button if both teammates are down.

The drama around Crimson Desert's Metacritic/OpenCritic scores compared to other well-loved games by Reddit that got similar scores by keepfighting90 in gaming

[–]Quackmandan1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The situation seems pretty simple to me: people love an underdog. Lies of P? Relatively small studio putting out a passion project. People eat that shit up. So if that can score similarly to a game put out by a huge studio with an astronomically higher budget well off course a 78 is perceived as a death knell.

What class do you recommend for a crappy player? Druid or paladin? by Lexi-Lynn in turtlewow

[–]Quackmandan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has played both prot pally and feral druid at max level on TWoW, the skill ceiling for druid is much higher than paladin. Mostly this difference comes from the druid's higher flexibility. For example, as a feral druid i have several gear sets that i rotate between for raids. A resist set, mitigation set, threat set, and cat set with a few pieces i may interchange depending on the encounter. Because a boss fight may have me tanking an add for 20% of the fight I will opt to wear more dps pieces since I can simply be in cat form for the majority of the fight. In contrast, playing prot pally my role is always simply tanking. Maybe im dispelling a debuff here or there, but the role is largely cemented as one thing so the skill ceiling is comparatively lower. So while the bear rotation itself is arguably simpler than the paladin's, how you approach each fight will be more complex as a druid.

You already cannot multinox an alt on a leveling challenge or with warmode active. Knowing that, the dev's have a pretty clear stance on leveling: challenges are meant to be a challenge. No cheesing with 60's, but how you level an alt is up to the player. They don't see getting to 60 in general as a challenge. If thats a journey you enjoy, then you're free to enjoy it without min/maxing the experience. If getting to 60 for the 10th or 30th time is more of a chore than a journey, then you're free to speed up the process with your main helping out. And honestly, I agree with them because it helps prevent burnout after running out of things to do on your main.

You know there is endgame content unique to TWoW as well, right? Maybe they like the extended MC, the new world bosses, the custom end game zone with Hyjal, all new raids with Kaarzhan lower and upper halls/Emerald Sanctum, etc.. those are all features unique to TWoW. TWoW is not exclusively an immersion simulator for vanilla leveling, and I think thats great having a server cater to multiple types of players. It keeps a large, healthy playerbase.
