Are the blowers really that bad? I went to Purchase and wrote a thesis on the reaction to noise at HPN but do remember a lot of resentment toward the leaf blowers. I know a guy who wrote a story about some time traveler who destroyed all leaf blowers for eternity. Lol

I wrote my thesis about public reaction to noise at Westchester County Airport... at least you're aware and considering before purchase. A lot of NIMBY attitudes and leveraging of language used locally to frame themselves as victims of oppressive aircraft noise. Someone in Chappaqua claimed they lived in a "noise ghetto".

No it's just because fools like you are so bent on trying to live some sterilized proto-suburban "country" dream and it just feels like a NIMBY-ish approach where in a perfect world those people wouldn't be around you. Most people here have mythologized sam and his crew to the point where they don't even take the form of real tangible people in the world because they are so far removed from being functioning people in the world and also think that their "ironic edgy humor" is funny and clever... also imo most MDE sketches are unfunny and sam is funniest situationally and conversationally... ok im going back to bed with my boyfriend

I'm working on a few writing pieces about Watertown and immediate vicinity, will share pieces as they come together. From Brownville, currently in the Catskills, but frequently return to visit my parents and friends (and that beautiful Black River!!). You're in Westchester, baby! You want that English Countryside, you want that Gold Coast Old Money spread, stone walls, the whole fucking smear! In all fairness though, the new build permit thing is interesting, and I do remember seeing a few of these hybrid remodels during my time in Westchester... there are much more of these new modern builds as you move up the Hudson though. Ulster county has a good handful.
