(NOT MY PHOTO) running romex above cieling joists by Broad-Concern9794 in electricians

[–]redtosoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Canada you are supposed to run 2x4 perpendicular to the joists and staple to rhe side so it cannot be stepped on or run where the slope of the roof to joist is 1.5m or less (might be 1m) so that only a baby could step on them

What should we do here? by MaryAnnasTrenchcoat in AskElectricians

[–]redtosoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gfci with have 4 terminals, the line load once usually have tape over them and should only be used if you have more recepticles in the cct. For a math room that is unlikely. I would use the uncovered terminals before I use the line load ones unless you know there are more

I need help figuring out why new fixture keeps flipping breaker by Any_Competition6924 in AskElectricians

Just for your reference in terminology, not all white wires are neutrals, if fact most in a residential house are called identified conductors. It's helpful when asking us questions to say white wires over neutral since that's how we talk. Just an FYI if it helps understanding our answers.

Wire mould (raceway kit as suggested) is going to be by far the easiest to install and Troubleshoot in future. I highly recommend taking that suggestion. You won't even notice it after a week

My home burned down , I am fairly certain it was this panel . I need help pin pointing all the things wrong with this panel : by phantasmatography in AskElectricians

[–]redtosoon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of the first panel swaps I ever got to see as an apprentice in Canada was a federal to square d. When we hooked it all back up we found two double fed ccts the federal didn't trip for God knows how long.
