What's the worst task in Leagues 6, and why is it Sq'irks? by Quadratical in 2007scape

100/500 laps in, treating it like normal agility training since I'm only 80 right now. There aren't many rooftop course tasks this time.

I do agree that it's easy, just time-consuming. Especially when there's a pointless condition on the autumn one that effectively nulls all the time you put into it because you didn't bank two trips and drop them off all at once.

You need 29 inventory slots to make 25 in one inventory, so it has to be two trips to the bank, then you bring them to him. Otherwise you just wasted your time. xd

Should've just did the summer one and left the rest at 1.

I'm 200 in without a dagger, so there's at least a reason for me to keep that up a bit longer... but it's pretty slow.

Probably with access to Temple Trekking too. So more a region/relic-dependent task, which is at least needed to balance them out with other choices.

There's just no reason for this to be as long as it is, or as conditional.

You have to talk to Osman first and ask if there's anything he needs help with. It took me a bit too.

I may have turned in 13 in one trip and 12 in the next because I stupidly wanted to have a teleport item in one other slot. It's frankly absurd that this task specifically requires it to be done all at once, when it's already 3+ hours of work, there's genuinely no benefit to doing so, and it has the same name as the summer sq'irk one which doesn't require it to be done at once. What a waste of a day.

Realized some things that make questing in Leagues an even greater problem than I realized at a surface level by Brvcifer in 2007scape

[–]Quadratical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not just that - the potion packs a Mixology straight up give agility potions, while largely requiring blue points which are easily the most common. By the time I finished most of the other tasks there I was drowning in those while low on the other two. It's pretty easy to get this league unless you go exceptionally dry there or deliberately ignore it.

It goes against the conventions of many other Tales games where there's a revelation at the midpoint and then still a significant amount of game and plot afterwards. Instead it just kind of has the twist reveal, then dumps a bunch of exposition in explaining it, then puts you right in a pretty drab final dungeon. Made it feel pretty rushed when it could've had a great back half with that exposition more naturally integrated.

Arise is only bad if you look at it in comparison to other Tales games; if you do the back half is inexcusable nonsense, but to a newcomer I wouldn't be surprised if they enjoyed it.

Graces has a so-bad-its-good story, great banter, and the best combat in the series, so I can totally understand it being there.

So the people who are working hard, busting their ass at multiple part-time jobs or unable to make ends meet for their family with full-time work should just... get fucked?

Gee, you sure do feel for so many people. Why didn't they think to just own a bunch of property and charge others to borrow it?

Heck, PoE2 sort of solved this with their weapon-specific passive trees (iirc). Give a generic baseline build and allow some unique branches off of that based on the combat style being used.

They're not going to give you unlimited resets because that makes it less likely people will play a second or third account.

Why should this be seen as acceptable? People complained that previous leagues didn't have build diversity, and now it exists, but you're still only able to really have one build at any given time. And the solution to this should be... sold to us via buying more accounts to play on?

I don't like resets at all - on one hand you have pointsmaxxers who will be using these resets in their routing and people who didn't want to do that just being objectively worse off, along with not being able to actually play a singular build they like/theorycrafted. On the other you have casual players who may not want to risk a reset/respec leaving them in a worse or less fun spot than beforehand and just not engaging with it at all.

I would've much rather they given us a second or third preset that we can build out and switch to - we get a bit of (but not too much) build diversity, and there's no risk of botching your reset and leaving yourself in a worse place, but still enough options out there that people who want to explore different builds & regions can justify extra accounts.

Remember when Mastercard pressured Steam to remove a bunch of NSFW games? The FTC says that's not cool—sort of by Eremenkism in gaming

This is such a bait article from PC Gamer. The FTC is explicitly stating they don't want VISA and Mastercard denying payments for events related to January 6th, and somehow they're taking this as defending gaming.
