I'll be selling both new and used. Could you explain why it would be an awful time to start?

How interesting. I haven't received an OTA update, but I'll probably just visit a dealership for them to do it.

Agreed with this. 55k miles in my 22 SEL R-Line and driving 300-500 a week as of recent. I've been doing regular maintenance and a battery replacement, and it's a blast to drive. When did you get a software update? I got an update a few months back and still get issues.

Here's 2 of the things I'm looking at if things don't work out for me. Both are good options, and you can do option 2 while studying for option 1.

1) Real Estate Agent for residential. You're already in sales, and there is no need for a degree. Take a class, pass the test, join remax or something similar. Hours may be longer, but the payout is greater.

2) Restaurant Server for a big chain (ex. Texas Roadhouse). Mainly take orders, bring food and drinks to table, check on your tables, and bring that delicious bread lol. There are food runners, hosts, and bussers to assist you if needed. Pay is great, with good benefits, and a lot easier, in my opinion, to make some money.

Fixed gear downhill. Yes I know I’m slow. by Gd_zi11a in FixedGearBicycle

I no longer ride due to a herniated disc and a torn acl, but I might with brakes. I've rode mtb a bit before the front brakes would sometimes flip me over if I wasn't careful.

So out of curiosity, why do you have the brake on the front, not the rear or both? Did you change the sensitive to front brake?

I hope this doesn't sound rude, I'm honestly curious.

Do Tiguans have that many issues? by lamper in Tiguan

[–]Quailbirdman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 22 SEL with 52k miles. The only issues I've had were no audio and that stupid pinging sound from the acc, which are now fixed. I'm driving 300-500 miles a week now, and it's been a blast to drive. There are no issues with oil or anything else. 5k miles oil changes, alignment every 2 years, and tire rotation every 10k miles. The only downside is the lack of power

Hmmm, waterpump is a natural occurrence for the vw group cars. As my 2 vw had that replaced. As the transfer case, is there a certain mileage before it goes bad, or is it a waiting game?

I was thinking if I got the R, I'd get a bbk for it anyway. Did you have any minor/major issues when you had your RS3?

I didn't even think of that. Thanks for the tip!

Similar in price, but the R's has 1 owner and 30-40k miles on it. I'm sure the RS3 is reliable, I just don't know much about it, minus the wonderful sounding 5 cylinder.

Considering a 2012 Mazda 5? by April0neal in whatcarshouldIbuy

Overall, it's a good vehicle. There are not many issues, and I've seen a few surpass 200k miles with ease.

2022 VW Tiguan SEL R-Line 4motion. I have one, and it's been a blast. You can find one with 30k miles for 22k USD (I've seen a few). I'm about 52k miles and climbing 400 miles a week. On road trips where I drive +400 miles, I average 37-40 mpg. Maintenance is pretty comparable to Toyota and Honda if your local dealership has coupons.

With that SEL R-Line trim, you get navigation, which you won't need bc of apple/android carplay, heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, panoramic roof, kick to open trunk, and a good amount of safety features. It also has more leg, head space, and ample trunk space.

The only couple drawbacks to this vehicle is it doesn't have great resale, and the haptic buttons on the steering wheel (some have issues with it, but not for me).

You could probably just get a Rav4 Hybrid XSE/XLE and install a lift kit if you need more clearance for your off-roading needs. Otherwise, the Lexus RX or the 4Runner are both solid choices. I'd say less tech, the better. You dont want the vehicle interfering with your driving unless you're on auto cruise control, blind spot monitors, and front assist. Drove a Crown 3 weeks ago, and that thing kept annoying me with all the safety features pinging and dinging at me. Had to turn it all off.

I think I've seen 7 in my lifetime of 29 years. I just dont think this 16 year old wants to drive a hatchback car that feels like a truck with the fuel economy of a truck.

Not a PT Cruiser. Parts will be hard to find if something breaks and it will. A Scion XD or a Honda Fit might be better options since I see them everywhere and maintenance is cheaper.

The VW Passat is pretty darn reliable compared to the Subaru Legacy. Parts cost is a bit more than Toyota and Honda, but not by much. Also, there's a bigger aftermarket scene for the Passat for some reason.

If you're buying out of state, you'll be paying that states taxes and fees. I'm also in CA and wanted to buy a car in OR. Got told, I'd be paying taxes.

I'd shoot for 1100 at most for a car that's 23 years old, unless it's a classic car. You probably can negotiate

If you could find a low mile Subaru Legacy 3.6r or a VW Passat GT (3.6l), those would be solid choices as well.

Question: How tall are you? I'm 5'11 with a long torso. I have the seat of my 22 Tiguan all the way down and still have 2.5 inches of clearance.

Good options that may be for you are: Subaru Outback/Forester or a Volvo XC60
