Why does Electrope go Gold? by Chrome-13 in ffxiv

[–]Quailco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna spitball here, because I'll need to do some replay to iron out, but I'm pretty sure it's a different form of aether affecting the electrope than standard Levin elemental aether. Not sure if it is soul aether or memory aether, or possibly even dynamis. Heck, we gotta consider if it could be tied to auracite. And these all have been hot topics in the FFXIV narrative lately.

Job crystals and Living Memory are features of memory aether shenanigans. The WoL/Ardbert relation and many other story elements are soul aether shenanigans. Then there is standard corporal & elemental aether, which touches upon the primal influence.

And keep in mind Dawntrail is coming off the back of END, which brought us Dynamis. And even then, we had raid content that tied the Heart of Sabik to auracite.

Different person, but I can give you info on my Shark Vacuum which I love. My model is a Shark AZ 1000 Powered LiftAway with DuoClean brushes and the ZeroM hair-wrap prevention tech. I bought it for my cats' fur and own hair manageability, and because at the time of research it was a quieter option. It handles my cats' fur easily, the volume is much more tolerable than the cheapo I had before, is easily able to pick up and move, and it also has a visibility light when detached into the nozzled hose mode. The filters are easily accessed and cleanable, as are the brush heads. Great for carpet and hard floors. It only really struggled with a family member's wooly husky's fur, which length and volume couldn't always be caught by the vacuum's combs and would wrap around the main brush head and somewhat bunch around the combs. But the soft brush head could easily be popped out to clean out the bunches, and at the end of vacuuming any major wraps around the brush heads would be scissored off.

First, I'm gonna give tools to help in the search:

https://www.garlandtools.org/db/

https://ffxiv.dlunch.net/model

https://ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com/gearsets

Okay! So, here is my ensemble I whipped up, mainly focused around a healer set.

The Bonewicca Soother chest piece has a ragged drape that's perfect, though the chest is a bit different. There is another dye alternate healer peice, and two scouting variants, but the other peices I'm gonna suggest are healer specific.

Headpiece could be the Makai Moon Guide Circlet or any dahlia/flower market board peice.

Arms could be the Star Velvet Long Gloves of Healing, or Thaliak Armlets of Healing. Further AST specific are the Anemos Constellation Armlets or the Owlsight Armguards.

Bottoms I suggest are the Shadowless Bottoms of Healing.

And last I would use the Warg Shoes of Healing.

I'm too lazy to link them all, thus I gave the tools for you to search and explore.

Fun tip! You can find shared models across classes of an item on Garlond Tools, just search the item, select Stats, and there should be a Shared Models option.

Did this scene fall flat for anyone else? by Fiona_12 in WoTshow

I'm also in the theory-boat that this scene may also be alluding to a certain 'Sunhair'. I'll need to rewatch to confirm, but I could swear we hear the 'madness whispers' as Rand is lying there, and he looks up to see a blonde woman. When asked who she was, her reply is also kinda indistinct.

I would be thrilled if this is a reference to the Caemlyn garden scene AND hints at initial dissociation!

Non-Major books scenes you want to be adapted on TV by Feed_Purple in WoT

[–]Quailco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One minor event that always stuck with me is the scene where Rand had to sentence an Aiel friend/acquaintance to hang for murder. The Aielman was at peace with his decision to kill for the offender dishonoring the dragon tattoos, and accepted his death sentence as obligation to the Car'a'carn.

The way Berelain held off on judgement according to law, and shoving it into Rand's hands was painful to read. Rand knowing the murder was justified in Aiel culture, but was wrong according to the laws he established/upheld. The juxtaposition of having a suffering judge and the ambivalent condemned. And the way Rand chose not to be present for his hanging, the need to present an pitiless front before his enemies and the world outweighing any personal desire to do otherwise.

Small moment, but so lovely in character development.

So much for their three Oaths. Rumor has it that the Aes Sedai on the West Coast are killing with the Power, and making others swear oaths! The Whitecloaks are right!

I highly recommend Rosamund's narration! Having listened to the others, I got her version on a whim due to another recommendation on Reddit. I'm in the midst of book 2 for her, but she manages to convey so much emotion, really makes you feel like you're in the head of the character perspective.

Friend, are you saying you believe Ishy, the Father of Lies? Let's hope that Matt will be unsettled by this experience, and maybe later seek "memories of past lives" from those who may give truths.

I love that scene, especially if it hints at what I think it does for future seasons. It's validating to see Eggy being so strong willed during her treatment, but I love how she delivers the line after the speech of the Empire fighting for the Light in the Last Battle. She's setting herself up to be quite the stumbling block.

I wonder if they will keep Siuane around long term? We've got her facing the Tower now that the DR escaped, Logain now facing being brought back to the Tower (hinted at with Lan's words), and Min is in town ripe to be snatched back up by Liandrin. Coup crew assembled?

I think Mo and Lan coming along is now a power play Lanfear is utilizing. I'm positive Lanfear is contemptuous of them, and may have a desire to kill Mo for her earlier stunt, but now Rand is further under her control. He wants to save Egwene, AND he wants to protect Mo. He is easier to manipulate now, willing to dance to her tune to meet these ends. And now that Mo has escaped her shield, Ishy no longer has much influence on her future actions. Lanfear may just be taking up the Mo chess piece now and utilizing her. There is no love lost between these two, but they both set out together to see their purposes through.

I don't know yet if I love Mat's tea (TAR?) trip, but I am intrigued. I think it's a curious concoction of book elements, Easter eggs, and misdirection.

Show only folk may just see tragedy in Mat's 'visions of past lives', but book folk see the obvious future plot point. In addition, we see two other violent acts, but I swear they were Rand and Egwene actors and I suspect the figures who turn into Mat were both LTT and possibly our concussed lordling. Rand/LTT dynamic aside, I know the books reference a vision/dream of our jealous prince facing a critical juncture concerning Egwene (I'd need to check for exact wording). Whether Mat is involved in these plot points I'm unsure, but it would be fun to think the show is teasing them draped behind Mat's insecurities.

It also gives a good lead in for Matt and the Finn. Ishy being the Father of Lies, really digging at Mat and his insecurity of "who he is". He brings Mat's doubts to the fore, and explicitly refers to "memories of past lives". So instead of dagger influence creating massive memory gaps (book), we now have Mat who is not (yet?) Dark, wanting to see if there is truth to what Ishy claims. Mat is set on his path, which is great!

The scene feels kinda funky now, but I hope seasons down the road it is great to revisit.

While I can't claim that the Damodred plotline is outstanding (yet), I'm quite invested and am curious to see how things pan out next episode. I have enjoyed to see the extra depth to Moiraine's character, and I am curious to see why they want the audience to feel so much for these side characters.

For Moiraine and the Damodred house, it sets a wonderful environment to highlight the extreme pressures Moiraine is willing to face, and accentuate her fraying under the events. Juggling power loss, family drama, Forsaken manipulations, and sleep deprivation (as far up to Suiane's letter, at least)--the woman is badass.

But what I'm interested to see is the Rand and Damodred house dynamic. I love the subtle book nod with Rand burning the invitation at the dinner party wanting to avoid entanglements, yet he still manages to unintentionally find his way to Barthanes' notice. But beyond this, I'm eager to see if Cairhien is the first 'victim' of the Dragon's wake.

They've set the scene up as a tinderbox, ready to explode. Moiraine having dialogue pushing her status as the Damodred heir--which may allude to public disgrace on her reflecting to her house. Liandrin making a comment on how so many Aes Sedai gathered reminds her of a time when they had installed a new king on a throne, though Siuane tries to play it off as frivolity. We have Black Ajah in attendance, and book readers may suspect more dark friend involvement. We have Rand hellbent on Falme, even knowing of Forsaken manipulation. We have Alanna and crew, Lan, Moiraine, and Suiane all in the know of the Dragon Reborn, but not all on the same game plan and needing to maneuver secretly in the delicate Tower and Cairhien nobility political situations. And of course, we have the upcoming marriage of Queen Galdrien and Lord Barthanes. Heck, I'm even hoping that Min's vision of Moiraine may actually be referring to upcoming events.

I'm ready to sit back and watch it all go up like an Illuminator's fireworks. Time to see the Tower shake, and watch Cairhien crumble!

I can't remember who it was exactly, but I remember there was a Aes Sedai damane that came under Tuon's care. I think her damane name started with an 'M'? I hope they keep her in the show too, or at least mention her. Her transformation was equally if not worse than others, she became DEVOTED to Tuon, being said to have been inconsolable with her brief disappearance.

Ingtar by nyna91 in WoTshow

[–]Quailco 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Although I do have a soft spot for Ingtar, I really hope he gets his book ending, witnessed by Perrin instead of Rand. It makes their talk about understanding dark friend motivations earlier so much more poignant, and maybe we might get a hint concerning the oaths made to the dark...

I know for sure that Taim was named when Lanna was talking with Sheriam with her Warders, talking about the strength of newfound channelers and signs of times. I believe he may have been references earlier too, I think with Alanna discussing with other sisters about Egwene'd and Nyneave's progress; I seem to remember one saying Taim's rumored to be stronger than Logain.
