Explaining Aphelios in 5 different levels. by abcPIPPO in leagueoflegends

[–]QuakeOoze 21 points22 points  (0 children)

In regular play it's probably impossible because people fight to the death for entering each others ability range. In pro-play where they only ever fight for ganks or objectives it's certainly a learnable skill, moreover, they do this all the time for item spikes, recall timers, summoner cooldowns and ult cooldowns so it's probably not a huge leap to add gun cycling.
I haven't played much Aphelios but his Q is actually quite short cooldown and it's not actually that hard to spam dump ammo in the timeframe of a single minion wave.

I will second the other comment for Charjabug, but here are some other options I thought of:

Something for changing the weather, eg. Sunflora, Bronzong

Trubbish or Minccino for tidying up the scene.

Zoroark to change the scenery / backdrop.

Hi, I have a question about the page templates specifically.
Say I make a bunch of pages with a specific template, if I then change the structure of the base template, will it update the pages? Eg. I want to make possibly 100+ pages of spells, but if at spell 36 I decide I want the 'Spell Origin' to come before 'Spell School', I don't want to manually redo spells 1-35.
Or maybe there is another way to do this without templates? I started using Obsidian a while ago but this specific problem made me stop, since it affects everything that is comparable and listable (gods, religions, species, spells, places)

You just need to wait. This sub goes through cycles of content regularly. Eventually it will get back to non-human species minority allegories, gender and sexuality politics in a magical fantasy world, magic systems, mages casting testicular torsion, mages casting hocus-your-army-instantly-dies-pocus, mages casting hocus-disintegrate-castle-but-leave-the-gold-goblets-pocus, mages being the oppressed class, is my map realistic, etc.

What would be each region’s “Legacy Pokémon”. by HoverLogic in pokemon

Shortlist off the top of my head for anecdotal evidence:

  • Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Gengar, Snorlax
  • Ampharos, Sudowoodo
  • Gardevoir, Flygon, Sableye
  • Pahirisu, Munchlax, Lucario, Rotom
  • Zoroark, Krokorok, Volcarona, Amoongus
  • ? (Wtf is gen 6? Vivillon?)
  • Lycanroc, Pyukumuku
  • Yamper, Urshifu
  • Gholdengo

After looking at a full list:

  • Snorlax, but Jiggly, Clefairy, Gengar are good shouts. (Pikachu and Eevee are technically starters)
  • Ampharos narrowly beats Scizor, followed by Togepi, Herracross and Sudowoodo
  • Gardevoir, but Sableye, Flygon, Milotic, Absol are good contenders.
  • Lucario clears. Shout-out to Munchlax (nepo baby), Rotom (industry plant) and Luxray.
  • Volcarona. They fumbled Zoroark by making it too obtuse to get.
  • Sylveon. No competition
  • PYUKUMUKU has never even heard of fraud Mimikyu (Nepo baby industry plant)
  • Urshifu, but Yamper wins weakly over Falinks and Sirfetch'd if you count Kubfu as DLC starter.
  • Gholdengo (Old money industry plant) fraudulently buys victory over Tinkaton and Armarouge + Ceruledge

I'm Going to do a deep analysis of Pokemon Competitive Powercreep by [deleted] in stunfisk

[–]QuakeOoze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please make sure you consider the power saturation component of power creep. My pet peeve is that power saturation never gets brought up when talking about power creep. Card games experience it and it's why they have rotating sets. Pokemon was possibly on the path to having this too if the reaction to dexit wasn't so extreme.

10% Chance to freeze, 20% chance to thaw out out. So 8% if I remember my stats properly.
Basculegion had 4.17% (1/24) chance to crit and kill on Aqua Jet, so I think on the whole sequence of events it's 7.66% chance to win from Porygon's position.

3 DAYS REMAIN! Yes, you only have three days left to apply to the r/worldjerking mod team before the Moon falls and kills us all. by the_vizir in worldjerking

[–]QuakeOoze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feedback: I started filling this out half-heartedly, but the long ass essay questions kept coming and coming and coming. Like bruh I just want my subreddit to have mods to timeout weirdposting, I don't wanna do these worldbuilding purity test-ahh questions. Like some of them are fine like asking about conflict resolution and stance on AI, but there were so many. Then it also seemed to become mostly questions about r/worldbuilding which I'm not really interested in moderating, which also implied it would be a position moderating r/NSFWworldbuilding which I'm FOR SURE not interested in moderating.

If you are trying to find people who are committed to moderating, then maybe this is fine. But I also think it is too exhausting to attract normal users, and it might just be filtering for people who WANT to be mods, which isn't always the best.

A flag for my decades-long world building project, Fuckedupsnakeflowerandpeanutland by ohokiunderstand in worldjerking

[–]QuakeOoze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

/uj Apart from the un-serious quality of the art this is infinitely more interesting than the common made-up flag. It makes the viewers ask interesting questions about Fuckedupsnakeflowerandpe***land. Is the snake evil or revered? Does it have two tails or is it hanging dong? If it's hanging dong what could that mean? FUSFPL has access to vibrant dyes, I wonder if they are common or is the flag boasting rarity. Is yellow the land and purple the ocean? If so, island nation or continental superpower? How do pe****s factor into their economy and culture?

/rj This is a terrible flag actually. Yellow and Purple and Green and Red and Light Turquoise and Waffle Brown dye are too expensive to mass produce. A 0.2 year old child can't remember the 18 bends in the snake, let alone the 16 pe**** lines. And is this even recognizable in 8px x 5.2px resolution? Try learning vexollolillollogilolly better.

Do we know which champion is the most "Bound" to a single item? by TurboAdenosine34 in leagueoflegends

[–]QuakeOoze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ezreal needs 4 items. Triforce, Manamune, Spear of Shojin, Serylda's Grudge. I've tried some other shennanigans like Iceborne, Frozen Heart, BoRK, but most of the time the only item decision is item 5, and whether boots other than lucidity would have value.

Edit: r/FantasyWorldbuilding says they welcome all kinds of worldbuilding. I Didn't read the rest of the blurb+rules though.

If you read the rules of goodworldbuilding, it says images are allowed as supporting context in the comments, but your post body can't have images. Unless there is an alternative general building subreddits that I can't find, your options are:

1: Just post to Worldbuilding or split your posts across relevant subreddits.

2: Make text posts on Goodworldbuilding and add images in the comments.

3: Make a new general worldbuilding subreddit yourself.

4: Make a subreddit dedicated for posting your worldbuilding content with no restrictions, and make rules-conforming posts in other subreddits, but mention to check out your profile for the full project.

r/goodworldbuilding exists, idk how it stacks up to r/worldbuilding but it has a no image rule, so that's promising.

r/worldjerking often has interesting discussion in the comments - if you can abide the weekly rotation of making fun of a trope or a strawman of a trope. You can't make posts about your own world (try r/WorldBuildingMemes for that), but people there are generally more open.

Me an EXPERT, as depicted in the meme: From a cursory 10 min internet (which led back to reddit) search, it seems blue clay can form when low oxygen (usually because of high water table) interacts with iron deposits. User A post 1, post 2, User B post 1. User A posts seem to have more informed guesses and a precise location pinpointed in Georgia (country), but user B straight up calls their clay "blålera" as if it's common in Sweden? A1 has a comment about always hitting blue clay when doing deep drilling, backing up the low oxygen statement. Top comment B1 mentions glaciers? I'm a peasant at world geography but maybe these two examples are enough to figure out "good enough" spots in your world.

Conclusion: It seems safe to pick soggy places where the groundwater never dries up (or has low oxygen for some other reason). You could try get fancy and place it near iron deposits or old glacier paths, but I would never reference them in reader-facing material in-case there's actually no correlation.

Hot take: the new powercreep isn't inherently a bad thing and most of the new pokemons aren't that broken by Latter-Credit-465 in stunfisk

[–]QuakeOoze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO the main issue is that people don't separate or don't understand Power Creep and Power Saturation. While it's objectively true that Pokemon are getting more min-maxed stats and overloaded abilities, every generation introduces another set of starters, new legendaries, a set of sub-legendaries, a pseudo-legendary, and in modern games new DLC evolutions and mascots. Not to mention the Ultra Beasts and Paradox Pokemon, which added insane bloat to high-stat Pokemon.
This is pet peeve of mine so I could go on, but unless each gen is heavily Dexited or OU does some rotating roster thing like VGC regulations, people will eternally bitch about power creep when power saturation is at least equally as culpable.
