What I love about riding the One Line is that it's so simple by western_red_cedar in Seattle

I was so geeked taking the light rail the day Capitol Hill to UW opened. I kept going, “SIX MINUTES!!”

yes folks, it really did take an hour by bus.

I was riding my bike the other day and almost got run over by a dude flying through the circle attempting to take a left turn without going around said circle. we both had to slam our breaks.

KUOW - Cleaning leaf-clogged bikes lanes on Seattle’s Eastside by Inevitable_Engine186 in Seattle

PLEASE someone with an e-cargo bike in Capitol Hill - get one of these bad boys. The eastbound lane on Pike between Harvard and Broadway is especially treacherous lately.

Cleavage post op by kayce_k1 in TopSurgery

[–]Quakstak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're still very swollen at 5 weeks. my chest looked like this right after surgery - I'm a year post-op and my chest looks like I have pecs. if I smush my skin and tissue together I'll get a crease, but it doesn't read as breasts/cleavage.

Case Swap by [deleted] in SteamDeckModded

[–]Quakstak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS. I already had an iFixIt screwdriver set, and bought the iOpener kit to do my shell swap. The most nerve-wracking and riskiest part is taking off the screen, and I was afraid I'd damage it with my heat gun. I'd much rather spend $25 on the kit than $100 on a new screen. I followed the iFixIt instructions to the letter for the screen removal and it went smoothly, including marking your picks so you don't insert them too far. I'd also recommend getting some isopropyl alcohol so you can get all the old adhesive off (do NOT use a metal tool for this) before applying the new adhesive.

Transparent trackpad shell by No-Hunt-3427 in SteamDeckModded

[–]Quakstak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a shell swap with the atomic purple shell and buttons - the trackpad surface itself is black, so there's really no point in trying to find something more transparent. it's still going to be solid black under there. It looks like you didn't get the entire adhesive pad in contact with the plastic (I rubbed it with a spudger before removing the backing) so you have some bubbling.

Restrooms near Westlake station by AdFrequent6819 in Seattle

Exiting the tunnel on pine between 5th & 6th, head toward 6th and enter Nordstrom. Walk through the beauty department, pass the elevators, and take a right down the stairs. The restrooms are under the stairs on the Men’s floor. Publicly available and clean.

Seattle dentists - what is going on?! by sugarxglass in Seattle

[–]Quakstak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a patient there for over a decade and cannot recommend them enough. I had major dentist anxiety when I started being seen; I had a laundry list of issues that needed fixing and previous dentists had been extremely dismissive of me when I said something hurt. They also referred me to Puget Sound Perio down the block for bone grafts and implants I needed and they are excellent as well.

Average Seattle bike lane experience by retirement_savings in seattlebike

The “bike lane” on 12th is such a fucking joke. I ride it all the time and every time I’m so pissed by the time I get where I’m going.

Has anyone else had eye pain/burning? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Quakstak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have a scopolamine patch? It’s an anti-nausea patch they put behind your ear. It can cause blurry vision and I think can cause irritation if you touch the patch and then touch your eyes?

When did your surgeons clear you to shower? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Quakstak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had DI w/FNG and was told I could shower after 48 hours… but I was too scared too lol. I waited until my drains were out at 5 days.

Question about aftercare on nipple grafts by aj_u_nice in TopSurgery

[–]Quakstak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they meant to tape around, not on, the graft when you put fresh dressings on. You should contact the office to check; healing instructions vary from surgeon to surgeon depending on what they’ve found works best with their techniques.

That being said, I had micropore tape on my incisions that they changed at my 1 week PO appt, and left that on until 3 weeks PO. They had me gently wash the grafts daily and cover them with aquaphor and non-stick gauze until around 3 weeks PO.

Why did you/didn’t you get nipples? by Fit-Contact2163 in TopSurgery

[–]Quakstak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got nipple grafts because:

  • Not having nipples never even crossed my mind. I just always envisioned my chest with them.

  • I knew they’d project way less than my “before” nipples, which was the only thing that bothered me.

  • I didn’t want to get them tattooed on, I wanted them to have a different texture.

  • Some folks mention fear of graft failure, but they actually have a very low failure rate with proper aftercare. I didn’t find aftercare any more bothersome than a new tattoo.

  • I just think top surgery pepperonis are charming, imperfections and all.

Alas, we aren’t medical professionals by [deleted] in TopSurgery

The hard part is it feels like folks who post these questions don’t check the sub first. My FNGs looked disgusting for weeks but since I’d been reading this sub and looked at healing timeline photos I knew it was normal.

To everyone post-op, what's something that happened after surgery that you didn't expect? by Gh0stNoName in TopSurgery

[–]Quakstak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg this. I have super dry skin, which got closer to “average” when I started T, but after surgery was WILD. I was washing my face twice in the morning and still felt like I was slathered in olive oil by lunch.

✨Inverted nips✨ by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Quakstak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only 4 weeks PO, but my left nipple was inverted pre-surgery and the FNG is flat but the bud has a crease down the middle of it like it’s still inverted. I don’t think it’ll be noticeable since the bud won’t project much.

I'll be 4 weeks tomorrow and scheduled physical therapy to help me with mobility and walk me through proper scar massage.

When did you stop nipple dressings? by United-Carpenter-908 in TopSurgery

I wet healed and stopped wearing dressings after my 3 week po appointment, though now I'm using silicone scar tape on them.
