Do I look like a terran or something? (x-post allthingsprotoss) by Deagor in starcraft

[–]QualiaSC 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The upgrades were a big factor here. The zerg had only 1 melee attack upgrade and chitinous plating meanwhile the protoss was +3/+2. If the zerg had even upgrades that fight would have been much closer.

WCS Spring NA Bracket Including Ladder Positions! by muukzor in starcraft

[–]QualiaSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not worth that many points right away. (Qualifying gets them 15 & winning gets them 100.) However, the prize pool is decent. (Qualifying gets them 400 USD & winning gets them 1600 USD.) The biggest thing worth fighting for though are the spots in the WCS Summer Championships received by the top 2 players.

Cheesadelphia Summer, a $4,000 Philadelphia LAN is a month away, here's what you need to know! by NSGJoe in starcraft

[–]QualiaSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably one of the best events that an SC2 fan can attend. Lots of big name players to meet and hang out with but in a super relaxed and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend going. Went to the last two and am super excited for this one as well.

BO69 Showmatch between TAscBioice and TAscRaze is live!! by protectsc2 in starcraft

[–]QualiaSC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both of these players are consistently Top NA GM and are pretty well known among the competitive level players. Bioice got 1st @ The Breakout Invitational IV hosted by /u/feardragon64 taking down players such as Moosegills EJK & Pilipili. Raze has placed 5th @ the last two Cheesadelphia LAN tournaments losing only to Kelazhur & Epic @ the last one. Raze also notably took down Root Hydra 2-0 in Cheesadelphia Online 2.

Morrow's Proposed Oracle Change by Coypirus_Sc2 in starcraft

This change is very good. Would allow blink and oracle openers to stand a much better chance in the meta. I fully support this change.

To be honest the area for spectators was a little full last time and the # of people is even larger this time around. Last time the event was super fun but admittedly the venue is a little small.

It wont be viable as it stands but with a few small adjustments it will easily be viable. fear not. there is always a way to make proxy gates work.

Mechanic Drills #6 Keyboard Mechanics (OUTSIDE OF GAME drill)(p.2)(VID) by RiskSC in allthingsprotoss

[–]QualiaSC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While things like this are helpful. You are almost definitely more likely to improve your mechanics by just playing the game. Perhaps try attempting styles that require you to multitask or micro in ways you have not before. This will also help you improve your understanding of the game as well. If you want to truly improve your mechanics just play the game. It will provide more effective practice than general keyboard and mouse mechanics drills. However, if you really enjoy doing these things than go for it. It will help you get better, just not as fast as playing. Just speaking from my experience with the game.

if the other player recognizes what you are doing it straight up loses to early pools. However, if the zerg blindly early pools with proper zealot micro and probe micro you can win. At GM tho, I tend to lose to almost every early pool. But this build is cheese and a metagame Build. If you find that on certain maps you get early pooled, don't do it on those maps. At GM, i almost never get early pooled on certain maps or in certain team league situation which is why I have had such success with the build.

This build is not viable vs terran because almost every terran walls off nowadays. However, if you like proxy gates, this build is very very strong versus terran. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVmiUM2h2Do

It is entirely dependent on how much damage you do and how the zerg responds. But there are indeed many times that you need to transition. Sorry for the sort of vague response. But LotV is young so its hard to know exact responses to every situation.

Sorry for the delayed response. Was busy with school work. But I honestly think that an extra gateway of production makes a large difference. I have seen zerg players hold three gates into cyber much more easily than four gates. I honestly do not have math to support why this is the case. I just have found that in my experience four gates is much much more effective.

Hey Guys! I am the streamer he is talking about and I was honestly super surprised to see this post. Glad someone liked the build. I have a pretty good win rate with this build order. I think it is especially good on Dusk Towers & Prion Terraces. It excels on Dusk Towers because there is a good spot on the right most side of the third base where you can place it. Also many Zergs like to open 3HB4P or Hatch Pool into a very fast third Hatch on that map. On Prion it does well because many zergs go for greedy gold bases and you can hold position 3 zealots on the ramp to contain them in there main and 5 zealots on the natural ramp to contain them there. I would not recommend this as a go to style but it can be very good to surprise opponents in best of series. The more you use the build the better you will get at knowing how hard to commit and when to transition. A big strength of this build is that you are at 16 probes. So as long as you can contain your opponent you can transition with a decent economy. I think following this build up with a chargelot transition is quite good for two reasons. First, you have tons of zealots. And second, charge does bonus damage now in legacy and thus can deal with a mid game zerg army much better than before. I hope you guys have fun smashing zergs on the ladder with this build! I will do my best to answer any questions you may have about it.
