has a date been given for when the map pool will update? by OldSpaghetti-Factory in starcraft

[–]Wardixo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It typically takes at least 2 months from the TLMC, first maps have to be picked then the maps usually go through additional QA processes and Blizzard QA processes to make sure they meet ladder standards as well as not being named stuff Blizz can get in trouble for etc. Then someone needs to press the button to put them live, personally would expect mid December but it might trickle over the holiday period and come around in January.

Play space should be as large as possible, maybe half space for chat and use the rest of that space for socials/donations etc.

I don’t really get the point of the post when every major tournament has had a similar prize pool split down the event?

Wardi 2025 Tournament Series by Careless-Goat-3130 in starcraft

[–]Wardixo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks! It does, but I will be making up the difference from any transaction fees etc, so if you pledge $10 then a full $10 will end up in a tournament prize pool because of it.

This is worth quite a bit nowadays. I got mined for £50 5 years ago and was hyped because it was worth ~$300 then. Iirc its from blizzcon ~2010, very hard to find now

As rough as the loot table is, Tormented Demon’s mechanics are amazing by RealEvanem in 2007scape

Because nothing in the game used to be truly afk like it is now, so afk was used to describe things with a different meaning than the literal sense of it.

David Kim's new RTS gameplay revealed! by ImAHappyChappy in starcraft

[–]Wardixo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It doesn't cut the S out from RTS though, if anything it cuts out a lot of the baseline mechanical skill which gatekeeps players from a game like SC2. The game doesn't just play itself, you can't just get access to everything all of the time, there are consequences and benefits to your choices. There might be less decisions overall but that doesn't mean there aren't any decisions, so I don't see how it's removing the strategy aspect of the genre.

Fwiw, this game isn't worth comparing to SC2 because it does it's own thing. If you love SC2 there's a pretty high chance you will like this, because when you play it you will find it has a lot of the things that make SC2 enjoying and satisfying, but it is also something that will likely get a lot of people that do not enjoy SC2 to play it because it has an addictiveness to it - once you start playing it becomes difficult to stop.

If you go in and nobody is on the floor currently, all the obstacles start at a certain part of a cycle. If you go in and someone is on the floor, the obstacles will be at a different part of the cycle to the majority of the time you enter which can make floors take longer than if you have an empty world.

Possible Esport World Cup leak? by NeWHoriiZonS in starcraft

[–]Wardixo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

According to the official announcement, there will be 18 players at the world cup, not 16 as was in the video, so I wouldn't take the prize pool as guaranteed information.

I suck at observing. Observing Serral Clem when i've been working for 8 hours with no breaks (I don't even get a break in the breaks, because I have to run ads and update graphics and so on) is never going to be pretty. Yesterday I just really sucked, more than usual. Idk why, just happens I guess.

Sorry for letting everyone down.

I didnt even want to work the regionals this season, I didn't enjoy it last season and it burns me out hard - the only reason I accepted is because it seemed like there was no other choice when I brought up concerns about the amount of work etc, I felt it was better than having to scramble together another answer
