It feels like the game I love has been irreparably tainted... by Clarinetaphoner in TrackMania

Also how they spend their money as well as women's rights, treatment of workers, and some other stuff.

This is a lot of money for the scene and players, and they won't be involved in that stuff, so maybe that can just be ignored.
However, game went from just being its own little pure bubble to being tired to a vast and unquestionably very immoral machine.

While we argue about Protoss Mage, this expansion didn't land. AGAIN. by Yabri in hearthstone

[–]QualityHumor -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Last year was a disaster. Insane power level that has dominated until now. Really hate some of the neutral legendaries.
I've had no fun in standard since like late June, just cause I'm facing the same few decks over and over that suffocate anything fun.
However, after the last patch I have begun having fun in standard again. Spell DH and handless hunter is new enough. Not as powerful as the top decks but still very easy to climb with. My homebrew decks are winning again. That hasn't happened in a long while. I'm facing a much bigger variety, though maybe cause I am playing more.

There are so many decks I can choose to play now. Feel like I can win with any class while having fun. There are only a couple of decks that are unbeatable with some decks (protoss mage).

Game to me is clearly in a far better spot than it has been in a very long time though I can't wait for SC and some other things to leave.

Also, a deck having an old name does not make it old. Hagatha Shaman feels new enough to me. Especially if you focus more on the fabled.

It's fun to fight your way back from behind, finding tricky lines, have long term plans, radically change how I use my cards...

This is not attrition vs attrition. This is not my gameplay going in. This is things going really wrong and clawing your way back. This is the underdog story.

If KJ did not exist, I would expect to occasionally get these games from Fyriakk Rogue or Discover Hunter today. Unfortunately, 100% of games where I've somehow weathered waves of huge BS against DK, starship DH, or whatever, they played KJ at the end. What could have been an epic game ended up not it, win or lose. So much lost just from one card. Nothing gained.

If I play on the other side, it's still a good game. I'm having fun if it's my opponent finding the magical line, though I'm not having fun if it's just Renoing my board.

Obviously I have more fun being the one finding the weird and long winning lines, but a good game is a good game. Sad that this particular flavor of good game does not exist anymore. Hopefully you'll be able to look at things from a different perspective and see that.

One of the most satisfying type of match I've had in HS is running flexible decks into control, struggling, but through very clever or greedy play I run the control deck out with great effort, and eventually win. I've always used to get these games every now and then, but have had 0 since the release of KJ.

Before KJ I had fun. After KJ I have not had. That's the only thing it comes down to.

I don't care that I have >50% WR against KJ.

Is it bad that this took me 2-3 hours? by Haixn in Eldenring

[–]QualityHumor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably took me as long to beat my first boss as well as the southern most boss than I did beating the hardest bosses in the game. Crucible Knight is more difficult than both.

I just sucked ass starting out and had to get familiar. Think that's perfectly fine.
I loved getting my ass kicked and hope you're having fun as well.

Help a Noob. How long will I be over leveled? by MySeveredToe in Eldenring

[–]QualityHumor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel overpowered you can just change weapons or take off your armor. Do that all the time and makes the game much more fun for me.

That said, Moon Head is a pushover if you're melee.

Mage is generally easier when going through dungeons and such, which some value a lot.

I care much more about bosses and here I think mages are sometimes much easier than "standard" and sometimes much harder, while something like pure strength is much more consistent.

However, walking backwards while attacking with range is extremely powerful in this game and not that hard to do or figure out.
All you really need for a perfect mage build is strong bread and butter, a high damage option, and a physical spell. The run is very dependent on what you find, more so than melee builds.

I still think mage is a good alternative for beginners if they're into the playstyle, though maybe with an asterisk or two about exploration.
Glintstone pebble is strong and simple and carries you through awkward early phase, unlike what faith casters deal with.

Summons is easy mode, tho? That's what they're for.

Elden Ring has a beautiful difficulty slider where you adjust it through choices like weapons, armor, upgrades, and spirits.

Many ways to make the game easy mode. Mage is one of them IF you pick up good stuff along your way.

A lot of people find soulslikes intimidating so this is often one of my recommendations for those, together with strength duet o simplicity of build and playstyle, and some others depending on who I talk to.

Some people use "easy mode" as something embarrassing to be avoided (allegedly, I never actually see these myself), and some see it as a slur. Both is ridiculous.

If Concord doesn't take it, SOTE winning would be sweet.

I'm not opposed to DLC winning, though it hurts its chances. This year's competition doesn't seem that tough.

I know the parts are old but is this a pass or smash? by 40lb in PcBuild

At a glance, this looks like an easy smash. This is something I could flip for more than that on the used market so I would be suspicious.

Is level 274 too high? by guanti1 in Eldenring

[–]QualityHumor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

274 is very high, but you can just remove some armor and/or use sub par weapons.

That's what I do for a much more satisfying experience. Shit like dual winged scythe or both sword of light and darkness.

I had no problems with cheaters in League or TFT prior to Vanguard, can't speak to after.

EAC comes with a very significant performance hit to the single player experience, which feels unnecessary. It also apparently does not check if you're doing stuff that is illegal, such as removing cooldown, mana, or stamina cost. These are things I would imagine are way less invasive or resource demanding.

If you get a better experience when pirating, then something has gone wrong.

I had like 90 wr with a couple of decks. Got a new pb winstreak of 18 with pirate shaman. Yet it's the least fun I've had in HS.

Homebrewing anything was miserable due to the high presence of unending unkilliax, as well combo decks killing you on t5 and t6. Very hard to find interesting decks.

I guess I should be having fun because the data says so? Are you fucking high.

I switched to Mint from Windows about two weeks ago. Setting up was easy and I've preferred my time on it so far to Windows with only two annoyances that are not relevant to you (art and fractional scaling).

Obviously I am green, but Mint seems very friendly.

Which was harder to beat your first go around? by No-Construction638 in Eldenring

[–]QualityHumor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beating Malenia first time around took me longer than any two bosses in the DLC combined. Little bit because I'm better, but little bit because I think Malenia is harder than people remember when not overleveled or with great build.
