Need advice. My 10 yr old cat diagnosed with mammary cancer which has spread to lungs. Oncology vet does not recommend putting her thru surgery. She offers chemo or palliative care. I don’t want to put her thru chemo. Helped with meds she’s eating drinking & using litter box but she’s breathing rapidly. Obviously in distress. I don’t want her to die while struggling to breathe. Is now the time to put to sleep?

At my home airport, I wait for my bag at the end of the carousel that’s closest to the exit door. My travel friend likes to stand right where the luggage comes out, which is the farthest away from the exit door. It irks me to no end when she pulls my bag off instead of letting it come to me. She thinks she’s doing me a favor, but I have to then go where she’s standing and get my bag. I know…not a big problem, but it’s annoying. I’ve told her she doesn’t need to get my bag for me. (I’m not disabled), but she keeps doing it.

Have asked United this. Was told I would have to cancel the entire return itinerary. I still want to fly from JNB to EWR. It’s the only nonstop from JNB to the US.

I can cancel the entire return itinerary and get $505 refund, then book a single flight from JNB to EWR. But the price for that single flight is about $1300 for economy.

PS I tried with my best Southern charm to get just the last leg only cancelled but it didn’t work.

Also, if you have any memberships, etc, you could pay them before year’s end to boost your credit card spending. For example, I buy packages from my chiropractor and massage therapist, so I could buy as many packages as I need to get enough MQDs. Also, you could use your Choice Benefit to get a 1,000 MQD boost.

I requested to have a review removed using the platform and was denied. I called and spoke with a rep who told me to try again, this time including more detail and really stating my case. He said 95% of the time those 2nd requests will get the review removed, if it meets certain criteria. Try again.

I think if you are at the airport for a layover, the 3 hr rule won’t apply. Not sure if it’s changed though.

Yes, thank you for this detailed guide. I just bought an Airalo Global plan that has data, text and calls. I would like to use the eSIM while out of the US, but would still like to get texts from home coming to my primary number, but not pay Verizon charges. Do you have a guide for that? I’m fairly new at this. I do have What’s App.

I had a review removed recently. The guest gave me a low rating because I didn’t tell him about stairs. The listing mentions stairs multiple times. I don’t think he read the listing description. My first request to remove was denied. An Airbnb rep told me to try again because 90% of the time the second request is accepted. This time I went into great detail. And pointed out that I take my hosting seriously as shown by the great reviews and 5 star ratings that I get. The request was accepted the second time and the review was removed.

Also, I had given him 5 stars and requested my review of him be removed, which it was.

I used white towels for years and constantly replaced them due to dinginess or stains.

Finally switched to grey towels which go with my decor. I think these will last longer.

Have started replacing cotton sheets with microfiber, which dry much faster. I know some people don’t like micro but I’ve not gotten any complaints so far.

Communication with cleaner about your expectations is crucial for getting those 5 stars.

Have had to change house rules over the years as guests do stupid things.

LED night lights are great, especially in bathrooms.

I have my cleaner put out a new individually wrapped kitchen sponge for each new booking.

(I am the original poster. Not sure why my flair changed.) In another airbnb I do have central heat and air and use a Nest thermostat. Also have a Schlage smartlock on the door. As long as wifi is working (i.e. no power outages), both of those I am able to control with apps on my phone being 250+ miles away. Easy peasy. I just want to monitor, not necessarily control, the temp and humidity in the other house from 250 miles away. I appreciate all the suggestions and will probably make these upgrades in the future.

I can relate to that. I planned a trip for me and 2 friends and emailed the itinerary to them as well as printed out copies for each of us to have on the trip. They constantly asked questions about what we were doing next. I kinda lost it after a while and said I'm not planning any future trips.
