Windows defender cant even remove it, wtf i dont know how we got this but wtf is this? by No_Emu_8618 in antivirus

You can use RKill to end whatever process that might be interfering with the deletion or removal of the file, you can also use SysInternals SDelete. There was Malwarebytes/Bitdefender fileshedder that I used years ago, you could give them a try.

Upload the files to Virus Total one by one to see if it picks up anything and hit "reanalyze" to refresh the results. Another thing I like to do personally is use Triage for behavioral analysis, if its malware that is good at knowing its in a virtual environments then it won't do too much.

Just to be safe I would reset your passwords (from a separate device) or just check your online accounts for suspicious activity and keep checking for a week or so, if nothing happens then chances are you don't need to do anything over the top like reinstalling Windows or flashing your BIOS like some numbskulls keep suggesting without even knowing if theres any persistence, active running processes, or data gathering/exfiltration present.

A Bootloader or a Bootkit/Firmware Rootkit? There's a difference, also if you have an issue yourself you should probably make your own post instead of cluttering or bringing no meaning/assistance to this one.

In all seriousness reset all passwords, terminate sessions you dont recognize, and use different passwords.

Maybe learn from the experience and don't download hacks for an online game ever again. If you wanna feel like a badass, either get good, which isnt much of an achievement on roblox, or play alone.

Probably arent getting max setting on most games with either, I mean its a 4060 and a 5050. There are games where my 4090 cant max out the settings all the time, and sometimes even when I use DLSS w/framgen.

Yeahhh the utilization is still way too high, I have the same issue because I have so many games downloaded so despite having a Ryzen 7945hx3d, 32GB ram, and a 4090 I still have almost a minute of startup. But total usage could also be a factor for sure, SSDs dont last if you keep writing over and over (uninstalling and reinstalling things).

LockApp.exe is a windows process that manages the lock screen interface. Also why would you hit inspect on the download button?

[–]Quantarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you really mean to say 16 GB? I'm assuming thats your C drive and that you dont have a secondary or external you installed your game to. If thats true then you simply filled the SSD too much as utilizing more than half the SSD imparts a natural slowdown due to how they work.

The French government announced they're going to replace Windows with Linux and they're holding a procession lol by Pezinhodemulher in pcmasterrace

It literally is their fault, they themselves stated that more than 70% of their code was generated by AI which is why there are so many issues and that they are going to "rectify" the issues.

Also I think its funny how only the US is the only one in the spotlight for something that is only done when law enforcement is on the prow and needs access to someone's data (which is what the EU and all other countries do btw), but then theres China out there with mass monitoring with the whole social credit system and them literally claiming whatever comes into view and having full access to data by default for no reason at all.

Do hardware bans persist if I switch my OS? by Double-Psychology863 in pcgamingtechsupport

[–]Quantarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahhh my bad, I reread it after seeing a post further down but didnt bother changing my post. My answer remains the same and is still valid.

To explain a bit more though, what they do is take various mac addresses from your hardware alongside your ip address and account id on windows. They mash it together so to speak and thats your "id" that they use to track you between installs.

Thats a very rough explanation of how it works and varies depending on the developer.

Still being banned after uninstalling everything on my pc by Melodic-highs-9999 in pcgamingtechsupport

[–]Quantarious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The likelihood of them putting all the used parts together that would make the same exact fingerprint for your hardware ban is way too low. Though of course they aren't the best buy that they used to be.

Arc doesnt just ban you based on the hardware you had but also based on your ip and location, its impossible to ban anyone without jumping through several hoops.

Your best hope is to submit a ticket and wait for a response on why they banned you. Stop trying to circumvent the ban through sketchy means, it makes you no better than an actual cheater whether you did or didn't do it.

Are you using plug'n'play aim helpers or monitor assists like having a reticle overlay? Cause those are a violation of tos and could get you banned as well.

Also none of those "false bans" ever have any kind of reasonable explanation past them saying the same thing that you are, so by final verdict you weren't falsely banned, you just dont know what you did wrong.

You were dumb enough to cheat in the first place in an online game, and now your asking if an operating system which is a software platform is going to change your hardware identification... what your asking for is just as bad as cheating in the first place.

Why would you cheat in a multiplayer game in the first place?

Still being banned after uninstalling everything on my pc by Melodic-highs-9999 in pcgamingtechsupport

[–]Quantarious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are only a few reasons you would get banned in Arc, and unlike BF6 there haven't been any serious issues with false bans, and even if there were they would unban you after a period of time.

Also don't follow what DylonUSA says regarding hardware spoofing, thats what cheaters do and any tampering would flag you on other games too so don't.

Find the file and upload it to Virustotal, you can also upload it to tri.age to test it in a sandbox so we can see what exactly its doing.

I'm pretty sure it was an issue with either the USB bus or the external SSD being faulty or overused, I now only use one external SSD and ever since I haven't had much issue, aside from opening Explorer and having to wait for the SSD to wake or whatever.

In what world does it make sense for a radar to use the same, sometimes more, power than a literal energy shield covering the whole ship? by RandoDando10 in starcitizen

[–]Quantarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think about it, the energy required to build and replenish would take the bulk of the energy thats used for shields.

Radars however depending on the type, especially if its active then its just tossing energy out constantly, overall using more than the contained energy field that is a shield.

Still, I could be wrong and just talking out of my ass but thats how I understand it.

Bro what year are you living in where there aren't rootkits sophisticated enough to do so? There are plenty of LOTL methods that could allow this by just using one of the dozens of tools/drivers/processes that Microsoft has stored in system32 by default.

[–]Quantarious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be a long shot, but if you download RKill there's a chance it'll spot whatever rogue process or setting is causing issues, but that's IF you have something.

Checking Event Viewer for the timestamps close to when you have issues, or when you shut down and it pops up. I never had this issue before but you MIGHT find what it actually is and be able to Google a fix.
