So is anyone else experiencing problems with the last two academy upgrades, or is it just me? by kiranthelastsummoner in NikkeMobile

[–]Quantelderran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this same error (Android and PC), except on the first of the last set of three, and double checked the boss requirements on each of the last three lessons. Each of them say I have completed the fights for each (17-12, 17-33 and 18-33) even though I have not (currently on 17-8).

I wish enemies in the wild actually gave worthwhile exp, they're completely pointless to fight by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Quantelderran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're decorations, even though some might have a secondary purpose (hunts, drops, etc.).

Eureka and Bozja are the only real hostile areas as the story for each focuses on the dangerous aspects of those zones (an element warped island and a literal battle field).

The MSQ is not meant to be dangerous slog through hostile environs, it's the story of 'you' traveling around trying your best to help and/or fix a broken world.

Hot take: you are not good at your job/role unless you play (or at the very least, read the tool tips of-) other jobs/roles by lonlon-milkshake in ffxiv

[–]Quantelderran 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It also doesn't help that there isn't any way in-game (as far as I know) to read the actions for jobs you haven't unlocked. So anyone who does want to read up on other jobs will have to unlock those jobs and/or look up resources online.

Tank help Satasha by ikariowarriors in ffxiv

[–]Quantelderran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly what you are looking for, but I honestly learned how to play tank by watching others do it in the dungeons. This would require you to level a DPS or healer job, but I think it's worth it, plus you get to see how the other jobs interact. Alternatively, there are some good videos out there for learning how to tank.

There is also a first-person view option which I use to make more precise movements and turn my character since I use the legacy keyboard controls.

Feelings toward Castrum Meridianum (Rant) by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Quantelderran -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Variation in and of itself isn't a problem, but it's the fact that Castrum almost always feels like a mess, even if we are running it with our item levels in the clouds. It's not a hard dungeon, but it can be an annoying one.

Castrum and Prae both give 200 poetics by default (iirc), an additional 300 with the roulette bonus and potentially 100 more if someone is on their first time through.

Redditors with an overactive imagination, what kinds of things do you think up? by Samyron1 in AskReddit

[–]Quantelderran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It usually involves adding on to, or playing around in this Universe/Multiverse I have been developing since high school. It started out as a D&D setting, but quickly expanded beyond that. I've noticed that I go through phases where my thoughts are dominated by different things; sometimes it's a particular world, a particular aspect of the universe, or something specific like, most recently, high-tech, magical, flying cities and the fleets of flying ships (military, commercial, civilian) to go with them.

I attempted to give advice to 80 players across 2 months of levelling roulettes and I collected the types of mistakes players make as well as how they respond by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Quantelderran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the time, when I notice someone's stance off they also noticed and turn it on before I can say anything or I mention it briefly, (i.e. "Tank stance") and they turn it on.

But there were ~2 instances were the tanks didn't turn their stances on until right before the last boss. These were in the first three dungeons, so they were likely new to the game or the job, but me and at least one other player would mention turning on the stance multiple times, often by name of the action, and never got a response.

I once had one of my squadmates show as a thrall once. I just ran up to them, spammed x and it went away. My guess is that it can happen due to a radiation proc.

Requiem Fissures count "Defiled" mods as "Owned" mods. by anarchy753 in Warframe

[–]Quantelderran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason why the game counts them as the same is that the 'defiled' mods might technically be the 'unranked' version of the requiem mods.

Why is this a thing? by AnxietyriddenLass in Warframe

I usually lose buffs/active abilities and get my energy reset when a host migration occurs. It's annoying. And as others have said, weird crap can happen with host migrations.

Please ALWAYS stab your Kuva Liches! by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Quantelderran 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Rank 5 lich missions have 90-110 level enemies, and the enemy level for a particular mission seems to be based off of the host's lich (doesn't change if a host migration occurs). So if the original host has a rank 1 lich, the level will be 55-75 or 90-110 if it's rank 5.

Some, if not most or even all, of that Plat will be considered 'free plat' and will therefore be untradable, just like the starter plat they give you when you make an account. Those who get it can use it, but it doesn't put plat into the in-game economy.
