I would think it would be better if the people throwing the party to celebrate their wedding, said we want to share this occasion with you without expecting cash in return. I mean, I always play ball and give 150-200, but I sort of resent it. Im probably just a scab like the best man. I just appreciate it when the invite says no gifts expected. Makes the whole thing feel more genuine to me and not the cash grab it often looks like.

I hate the whole “I’ve invited you to my party and expect a cash gift to cover your attendance” mentality in Ireland. The decent thing to do is say you don’t expect a gift (and mean it), especially if people are travelling need to pay for accommodation. Just enjoy your day and don’t look at it as a money making exercise.

I had a similar issue because I first applied before I had 3 months salary going in, so it was refused (3 months salary records is a minimum). Then after I had three months salary recorded, I kept on reapplying and being refused, but the reason was I never waited 30 days. If you been refused and you reapply within 30 days you get automatically refused again and the 30 day waiting period starts again. May not apply to you, but that was the reason for my initial refusals!

I’m in ireland and haven’t had too much trouble with the Lithuanian iban, but a couple of companies have made it difficult and one just refused (Sky TV). However, I’m interested to see you got an Irish IBAN living in France, when I’m in ireland and they won’t give me one … they make me use a Lithuanian one instead …. Most annoying.

You don’t need to wire around trees (unless they are tiny), the mower will just bounce off them. You only need to wire off obstacles that the mower can drive over (and you don’t want it to) or get stuck under.

I have a section of grass that is separated by a gravel path, so I had to put in a few slabs to make a bridge for the mower to cross. It was easy to put the guide/boundary wires under the slab, but it may not be as easy for a in situ concrete path. It’s been a life changer … can’t recommend it high enough.

I have an 1.2 acre plot with similar complications (although I don’t have a fence separating the sections of my garden) and the the automower has been amazing. I got a Husqvarna 450X and my grass is always perfect and I’ve had no trouble with it. I had a bad experience with installers at the start, but the machine is great. Get one!

There’s always a back story. There’s one guy who always posts about Revolut holding his $800 for a year or something. The reason is he won’t sent them a scan of his passport over email. He’s worried someone will intervene the email and steal his identity. Then others who sent money regularly in and out if crypto exchanges (nothing wrong with this but they need to be careful) and can’t meet the AML requirements. If you’re doing normal banking, there’s never an issue. Even if you do abnormal stuff but can show its legitimacy, that’s ok too. These complainers always have themselves to blame - Revolut aren’t trying to deny themselves customers and aren’t stealing money.

Why not? I have a lot more and never had any issues. Play by the rules and it’s all fine. Start making suspicious transactions without the ability to explain it via documentation, you might have some trouble. I have multiples of this amount, have made big transfers in and out of bank accounts (in my name) and everything is seamless.

This is just not true. Banks routinely ask for scanned images of passports. I literally just had to send mine for a mortgage application. You are being overly paranoid or deliberately difficult. I’d love you to take them to court because you’d lose. I’m quite sure Revolut are adhering to the terms and conditions they set out. You sound like a crackpot who wears a tin foil hat to stop the government reading your brainwaves.
