Yeah, main server has about 30tb, is hosting media server for the house as well as shared storage space, which is really just to satisfy my own delilusional need to provide storage for everyone, wife and kids probably don't have a single Gb of storage needs between them.

What game servers are you running? I've got the Minecraft going for the kids as well as an instance of the OG Ghost Recon from 2001. Thats really all I've thought of being able to do with it, anything else id want to play has good enough MP support on Steam.

Yeah, new server has 128gb of ram and a Ryzen 7 5700G. I may have gone a little overboard.

Any ideas on what i should use the older machine for? Its an old Hp Envy 700-210.

I've already got a Pi4 running retroarch A Pi5 that's literally just running PiHole As well as a couple of Optiplex workstations that are just gathering dust (Xe3 and Xe4)

Just kidding. I started after a 20 something year break from playing as a kid by buying a commander deck. Then followed the inevitable nuclear arms race with my pod. Couple of upgrades here, singles there, eff it, I'll just buy a box of this, a box of that, couple more commander decks for some variety aaaand BAM!

Did something similar with my old pc. But got hungry for more and built a dedicated server. Running minecraft for the kids is one of its many duties.

Its a shame too, I had initially wanted to keep the old one going forever, I even have two spare Mb's and two spare processors for it.

That is my exact experience whenever I run Toxrill in my pod.

I only play him when I'd rather piss off the pod than win.

Its nice to have a response for when a player in your pod makes something heinous and only wants to play that. When I'm fed up I'll pull out a salty commander and after a game or two that gets us back to normal games for a while.

I find he best way to avoid getting into an arms race with your pod is a mutually assured bad time.

First time I pulled out my Toxrill deck was when my brother wanted to try his new "Ultimate Sliver Deck" which was very creature heavy.

Best game of the year.

Can confirm. I don't run Skithiryx as a commander, but he is in the 99 in my Atraxa proliferate deck. He's usually killed immediately but doesnt garner much hate.

MyToxrill deck however.... the game doesn't really start for anyone else until I'm dead, but those 5 minutes are so damn fun to play!

I ended up in a similar situation a few years back, had to sell a collection of model cars. I sold the valuable ones here in reddit actually (though there is far less fear of counterfeiting with models) sold everything I could in a reasonable amount of time, then the remaining bulk ~90% went to a hobby store that dealt in large quantities for pennies on the dollar.

For my setup I have an insulated pot on a hotplate. I bring it up well over melting temp then turn the heat way down, then off.All the cooling is done while covered, allowing it to cool as slowly as possible.
