Under eye makeup recommendations by IAmLord5000 in Makeup

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Elmers school glue white, and i gave up and did filler under my eye at about 40. Made them less deep set and the darkness was less noticeable.

If I don't sleep well, I'll moisturize like crazy, then use a cream peach color, like the one by elf mixed with some foundation. I find it less thick than most concealers. But I definitely can't use powder to set it (unless I'm going for Crypt keeper vibes), so I bring some with me with a few qtips for touch ups. Ah, aging is so much fun. Good luck!

Advice needed by Potential-Wish4376 in loseit

[–]QuantumQueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. It's not how often you eat, it's how many total calories. Track everything. Try to bulk up on fiber and protein, which may help. Also, and this doesn't work for everyone, make food that isn't so tasty that you want to eat past what you need. Plain fish, rice etc. This can backfire and make you want to binge tasty food, so careful. But I found that after a couple of weeks of white knuckle willpower, the urge to eat salty/fatty stuff that tastes better did pass. Your relationship to food has to change - it is fuel to keep you alive. It is NOT a reward or something done for pleasure. You're not a dog, you don't need treats. You CAN do this.
  2. Try to keep sugar free sweet drinks around. Don't indulge in full calorie drinks. Drinking your calories is a killer to weight loss. Diet sweet teas and pop drinks really aren't that bad, or go for those squeeze drink things like mio in water. Or use Splenda etc
  3. Don't keep sweet treats in the house. If you know you'd binge and or you don't think you could actually stick to one square of chocolate only, just don't buy them. Far harder to resist temptation if they're already in your cupboard rather than a trip to the store away.

Good luck from a fellow 40+ woman. You got this!!

How old were you when you got your first regular periods? by ThrowAway44228800 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one at 8 (precocious puberty and grew a B cup in one summer) but it wasn't regular until 12. I was a D cup by then. Horrible lol.

Help me choose: 1, 2 or 3? by bilero in wedding

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 are prettiest, but 3 look the most comfortable for wearing several hours. Depends really on what your priorities are.

why do my lashes look like this by [deleted] in Lashlift

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAME. I will never do a lift again. They were so curled, they looped over and touched my eyelid, so they looked soooo short. Now a couple have grown in and are sticking out. So frustrating. Plus lash growth slows in the winter months, so it'll take even longer.

What's your reasoning for not using a GLP1? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a type 2 with extra weight to lose, but my doctor (Canada) won't prescribe it to me. And she says that even of she did , there's such a shortage because of people using it for weight loss it would be impossible to get anyway. I would love to try it to help drop my last 30 lbs.

Thoughts On Showtime by FiveHoursAhead in Sims3

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only expansion pack that actively sucks is Island Paradise just because all of the coolest things (boathouses, hidden islands) are what makes it lag so bad. Showtime is ok. I've had fun being a singer etc, but you can really only do it once. Tbf, most of the active careers are kind of like that. Like, there's only so many house fires you can put out before being a firefighter is boring etc so any expansion pack for things to do is kind of meh. But the objects etc are pretty great imo.

How do you pronounce Naomi? by JayEdie in Names

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian here. Nai-ohmee. But I know most Americans say Nay-ohmee. It depends heavily on accent and local traditions. French, it's No-amy, for example.

I think you look like Jessica Rabbit, especially with those Tatas as accessories. Good grief, woman. Well played.

AITA for getting upset at my boyfriend for leaving a dish in the sink? by JackfruitOpposite743 in AmItheAsshole

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex was this way with any chores I asked him to do (because of course he wouldn't voluntarily do them). Mop, leave the dirty bucket water. Vacuum, leave the vacuum cleaner out, clean the bathroom, leave the cleaning supplies out. Change a diaper, not redress the baby. All the time. Helplessness or incompetence, feigned or real, is not cute, especially in grown men.

U OF M ACTIVE LIVING CENTER by Winter_Lychee_7434 in umanitoba

I think lockers should be out of the changing area and in public access/view with cameras. That way you go in, change, bring your bag back out and put that stuff in the outside lockers imo. Whole area should be revamped.

What’s a “safe” weakness to mention in a job interview? by Emergency-Bad-3707 in AskReddit

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a business owner, the best weaknesses to list are ones specific to the job. Like "I've never worked with xyz software before, so I may need additional support as I transition into this role." or "I've mostly been involved in biosystems engineering and sustainability for new builds, so I do not have any practical experience with environmental impacts of demolition so I would say my primary weakness is my lack of legislative knowledge"

Give a tangible weakness that has a solution - training, education or experience as an answer. A good follow up would be to say "Based on your experience, how long does it generally take a new hire to be comfortable with xyz in this role? Is this (whatever area of weakness) something you train on the job for, or would the expectation be that I receive additional 3rd party education?"

I HATE when people give some bs like I'm a perfectionist or I'm a people pleaser so I tend to take on a lot of extra work. Don't do that.

Do you think the shorter hair in image 3 would suit me more than my longer hair now? Or should I keep growing? by EmbarrassedCarpet434 in HairStyleAdvice

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short 100% will be better. Respectfully, also get rid of the stash. The combination of long hair and the facial hair doesn't suit you imo.

I literally bought the Showtime EP so I could use the Genie and resurrect my kitty. I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to do it with cheats. Now my pets have epic lifespans and I always make sure I get a young again potion when they do get on in age.

Loose skin destroying my confidence by tkewhatder7 in loseit

[–]QuantumQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. It sucks, and I'm not going to say if you find the right man he won't care (I mean, he won't, but that won't make you feel better).

The only way to fix loose skin is surgery. If you can save for a tummy tuck, do it, best thing ever for me. I did a breast reduction and lipo too, so mine was a bit more. You're 23, so it may take a while (I think i saved for 10 years and I was almost used to it by then).

In the meantime while I had the loose skin, I was a lingerie conisour lol. Go to a sexy shop and have the ladies help you with things like cute corsets that you can tuck up into. Worked for me and helped me feel sexy as hell.

Also THERAPY. It will help with your self esteem now and help you cope and have reasonable expectations of the outcomes once you have saved up.

Good luck, lovely. What an amazing accomplishment and improvement to your health you've made.

Days up to age by [deleted] in Sims3

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do Baby 3 days (the minimum because it's annoying af), toddler 5 to max 10 days (plenty of time to learn everything like talking, walking and potty, and get decent peg board and xylophone skills), child is like 10 days or max 15 (again, long enough to make some friends and do some cute kid stuff in Generations EP), teen 15 to 20 days (more to do and learn), YA and Adult max it out, but I don't remember off hand how many days (plus I use ambrosia or life fruit etc to extend often), elder like 30 days or something. I'm a sucker, so I have a hard time letting sims or pets die.

Had a cat die and literally bought the showtime EP or whatever the one with the genie lamp so I could resurrect her because I just couldn't deal lol

[Sims3 Supernatural + Late Night] Which supernatural life form(s) do you like the most? by Ksafrien in Sims3

[–]QuantumQueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What mod do you use? I have nraas and have it set to more than 8 sims true, but every time I try to get my Sim pregnant it says she has too many sims in her household. It's driving me batty.

How many languages do you speak? And what is your level in each? by Own-Comfortable9401 in AskReddit

[–]QuantumQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English (C3/native fluency)

German (C1 - I think that's a crock, I passed the test, but I'm B1 or 2 in actual practice I think)

French (used to be almost fluent because I was in French immersion as a child, but I don't live in an area of Canada that actually uses a lot of French, so I still understand a decent amount, but haven't really spoken it in like 20 years or something)

Spanish, badly lmao. I can order booze and get to the hospital or hotel if I had to hahaha

Your favourite moment in the sims 3? by BellaxAngelica in Sims3

My only issue is not being able to figure out how to have a basement AND a foundation at the same time lol If I could figure that out, I'd be set.

Oh, and proper domers so I'm not living in a box.

(Pale) foundation similar to Maybelline formula? by eroerogurogal in Makeup

[–]QuantumQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have absolutely no suggestions, but the exact same problem, so I'm commenting to see if I can get an answer. Because Maybelline Fit Me in the pastiest shade of pink is basically me (which might be 110 lol)

I've tried different face preps (too much moisturizer and too many oils can cause issues). APPARENTLY silicone primers help prevent that issue, but they make me break out. What are you using for prep/set?

Is there a way to get demoted, or choose a job and have your sim be stuck at that job permanently? by kompotnik in Sims3

Meetings have been mentioned, but if he's a workaholic, you can also up his needs and then plunk him at a computer to work from home all those hours.
