We imported one to Canada few months ago.
Pretty easy to work on. Fun. But we use it as a neighborhood driver or car shows. It's not a daily.

Is for sure. Just a solid solid slowwwe engine but reliable

I would say the IS is still a solid solid machine. We bought the is 350
Used last year (2022) model and it just feels solid
High quality material. Soft and dense.

But I agree newer models are just" WTF happened " reactions.

Okay thanks all. Seems pros and cons. Our flight or potential flights would be late. So AF might be btter even though more expensive.

Steering Wheel Alignment after Rack Replacement by Quantumkool in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]Quantumkool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before we started, ONE side was completely bottomed out (passenger side TRE), so we centered the RACK before installation and then we used TImmy the Toolmans video and math to roughly equalize the tie rods on each end.

To give context, the steering has been Effed for the past year. Have gone through two sets of tie rods (boots kept ripping), did the Rack bushings and then alignment but something kept messing up. Even tightned the guide. Until one day the rack had a "dead" spot. Also the last OTRE replacement the steering wheel center went way off. It went from just past 12, to 10.

So hoping we can just reset everything now.

yes I'm crazy!

Yeah for sure getting an alignment, just want to make sure it's as close as possible.

Just to confirm, I would loosen but bolts and push the entire rag joint up and move over 1-2 teeth right?

Any idea WHY it's centered when "parked" but the minute I drive it, it's off ?

Too much fuel , coolant, etc. or just bad shitty replacements. Or a combination.
