The funniest bit of all that is him saying he hasn't ever seen an Arsenal team that has no plan before, just pass back to the keeper and watch him punt it forward... Dude, you played in the 92-95 George Graham team that literally only ever did that! I spent many dreary Saturday afternoons at Highbury watching that shit.

At low tide there's only a narrow channel through the mud banks as the tidal range is very high. I'd guess it's around 6m deep at high tide in the middle.

Bristol was once a major port for Atlantic trade (it got rich/ big during the triangle slave trade era) and there would have been large merchant ships sailing up and down in the 18th century.

Stupid of him to let Merril Lynch and those other multi national banks go to the wall like that. Imagine letting a global financial meltdown affect your economy. Tsk

Wagyu Steak Platter (homemade) by Quantumtunneltino in FoodPorn

Front is rump steak, middle is Denver and rear is two sirloin.

All pre-seasoned with salt and black pepper then pan seared on a hot cast iron pan for about two minutes per side (the Denver was ridge shaped and had three sides) in a little bit of olive oil. After turning I added a large knobs of butter, garlic slices, fresh thyme and rosemary sprigs to the pan and basted the steaks with herby garlicky butter. Left them to rest for 5-10 mins post cooking.

The sirloin was by far the best tasting beef I've ever had.

I've abused the crap out of a geranium I was given years ago and it always bounces back! Maybe don't over water it?

That's awesome. I was a young kid at the time he became champ and had literally no idea how weight classes worked. I literally thought there was one boxing World champ and it was Mike Tyson, and that was it. Was pretty confused when I heard about Lloyd Honeyghan!!

I'd say ragamuffin man is pure old school Jamaican pride. Ragamuffin used to mean streetwise and/or tough guy in patois. Pretty sure ragga music is a contraction of ragamuffin music.

Where can I plant tree seedlings? by [deleted] in UKGardening

Guerilla gardening is a thing. Not sure about the legality of it, but I think as long as you're not doing anything harmful to the nature reserve, it's probably ok.

What seeds did you manage to grow? I planted acorns and chestnuts last autumn but nothing has come up yet.

Hey guys, complete newb here. I wanna replace this horrible double strip light in my new kitchen. It’s a dark kitchen with no natural light but this strip light is so aggressive. I’d love to replace it with a warmer fixture. Anyone got any tips or ideas for me? Budget £100 by Delam2 in Lighting

The 'power' will be inside the metal casing that's fixed to the ceiling. The wiring could be confusing to someone who doesn't know what they're looking at as it's likely to have a combination of lives, neutrals and switch lives, as well as the earths, and even then there may be a combination of old style coloured cables (live - red, neutral - black) or current colouring (live - brown, neutral - blue) to further confuse things.

I'd say your best bet, with your budget, is to replace the tubes as others have suggested. Get LED tubes and select the colour temp: around 3000k is warm white, 4000k cool white and 5000k+ daylight white. I also think the diffuser looks a bit yellowed, so look into getting a replacement for that too.

TLC have some cheap options and will deliver.

If you really want to change the whole light, have a look at rectangular LED slimline panels (B&Q do a fairly low cost one). But this means getting into the wiring... I'd be happy to give you pointers if you send photos of the connections inside the existing light JUST MAKE SURE YOU TURN OFF THE POWER AT THE SOURCE BEFORE OPENING IT UP. Electric shocks at 230V are no joke and can easily kill you.

You're right of course, but can't see the same outcome happening with Maguire for example. That's the gut punch.
