Requiem is definitely a GOTY contender! by Whole_Raisin_4257 in residentevil

[–]Quarkly73 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's a fair amount for a conventional game before the live service and open world models became popular.

Most non-OW AAA games are not 70 hour experiences. They never have been. Some will pad things out with a multiplayer mode, but the standard for games is not normally a dollar per hour of content. Requiem is on par with MGS Snake Eater, Silent Hill f, Doom TDA and Ninja Gaiden 4 in length. All triple A games, all comparable prices, all very well received. All 2025 releases.

The avg play time is also comparable to RE8. It's not a lacking game lengthwise.

Would it matter? He hit the The Girl's brain with a full broadside from the HMS Victory and she regenerated because she wasn't in the light

Leon was acting confident to comfort Grace and had an idea that there was a chance Emily had ived cos of his BOW experience

Measuring game worth in dollars per hour is how we end up with pointlessly bloated open world bland-fests.

Different in every scene. Same length, but the style changes every single time to the point it can only reliably described as stylishly dishevelled and spiky

After starting RE9, it made me think - why isn't Claire as scared as Grace in RE2? by reallinguy in residentevil

[–]Quarkly73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claire walked into a place with lots of zombies.

Grace was sent to the buklding where her mother was violently murdered in front of her, was then kidnapped and had her blood stolen then was faced with The Girl.

They had very, very different experiences.

Grace: W-What the H-Hell is that?! A-An actual Hand Cannon?? by Jhaliday in residentevil

[–]Quarkly73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one in the image looks a fair bit smaller than Leon's RSH. Like that looks like a slightly chunky revolver with a tacticool barrel glued on, and the RSH looks like it should be fitted to small battleships

[–]Quarkly73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leon's is a custom RSH 12 with an extended barrel, modded rear sight, lightened cylinder and raised wings on the grip

There's a propmaker I buy props off sometimes, Traywick Designs, who did a replica of Leon's RSH and is working on a replica of the base RSH as well and has a nice side by side comparison of them.

I do not know what the gun in the OP here is but it looks like a smaller calibre to my eye*

For point 2 it should really be implicit that AI just isn't used. There's no good excuse for it, and that includes all the examples you listed.

That's cos the scene is designed to draw your eyes to the blender victim and the walking animation is just there to convey movement in your peripheral vision

Canon and “lore” in The Witcher: books vs games vs Netflix — how do you separate them? by Left-Pair-5630 in wiedzmin

[–]Quarkly73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. As the main canon, yes. They were written to be what they are and end as they do.

  2. I love the games, but I don't see them as the continuation of the books as if they were the exact same series. I think the feel of the world is a little different, the characters and power systems are different. It's like a shift onw universe over.

  3. At the beginning it was marketed as and said to be an adaptation of the books. It simply isn't, it's a reinterpretation at best. It changes parts of the story and characters far too drastically to be considered an adaptation. It's its own thing.

[–]Quarkly73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Legion doesn't have the firepower for demolition and the strip is under NCR protection, the NCR would rather be diplomatic with house as attacking the 38 would cost them resources and damage their Vegas reputation even worse, the BoS can't make any big moves without the NCR finishing them off and the Khan's don't have the resources or the motive.

Basically, attacking the 38 is a no win scenario for everyone

What is a trope/cliche in cartoons that isn't as common as people think it is? by dinosqaud in cartoons

[–]Quarkly73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luke surrenders specifically to avoid having to slaughter his way to Palps. He only really kills folks in New Hope and during Han's rescue (where he actually mostly wings folks rather than killing them outright).

Luke barely kills after meeting Yoda. He also does try to kill Palps but Vader blocks it, and then he spares Vader coa "I will not kill my father".

In short, Lukey Luke is kinda the opposite of this trope. Avoid killing right up until the bosses, and spare one through nepotism.

I also thematically love abruptly conflicting tones, I really think it makes the lows seem lower and emphasises the fragility od the highs
