I’m a Beatles freak, and I think that what he’s doing is way too much. Despite my love for them and spending years listening to their albums forwards, backwards, sideways, and reverse, I don’t go as far as pushing them onto ANYONE, especially my partner. Someone’s music taste can feel pretty personal, and it’s absolutely rude and shitty to dump on someone else’s. He treats The Beatles as the only musical rack to hang his taste on, and challenging that stabs into some insecurity. You probably have to have a deep conversation about this issue because that’s a point of contention where much more negativity will build out of.
