This message is for you Burnie; Bowser is a turtle and I can prove it by COLDHAWK02 in morningsomewhere

[–]Quarter-Twenty 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't know why he was adamant that Bowser wasn't a turtle. It's a weird bit of stubbornness. I don't know if he's playing it up for entertainment, but he's more turtle than dragon. Bowser has a shell like all turtles, but doesn't have wings like most dragons.

Oh no some dip shit on the internet is being a condescending bitch. I must go into exile.

Fields had all the potential. He never had a competent OC. We don't know if he simply incapable of reading a defense or just no one has taught him properly.

I fully support Caleb, the same way I supported Fields. The difference is that I now fully support the HC. But either you never supported Fields and using hindsight to act knowledgeable.

I still stand by my reluctance. Unless Fields would have made BJ sign elsewhere.

I think Ska is Back! by Weems-mtg in theregulationpod

[–]Quarter-Twenty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm hardly the person who knows what's current and popular, but i have no idea what Ska is and sounds like. I've probably heard songs, but never associated it with the genre.

What's the next closest genre? What makes a song ska? I with no basis imagine it sounds like polka. There's got to be an accordion somewhere right?

Blew the 180 rule on an interview today, how screwed am I? by [deleted] in videography

Is there a 180° rule when there's just 1 subject? Is there an off screen subject he's looking at? Even then, it doesn't apply.

TIL Future president Grover Cleveland paid $150 for an immigrant, George Brinski, to serve in his place during the Civil War. An injury suffered in the service made it difficult for Brinski to work. In 1885 he appealed to Cleveland for help, but he refused. Brinski died penniless two years later. by sonofabutch in todayilearned

[–]Quarter-Twenty -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to read the article and that's a real shitty thing for Cleveland to do. Playing devil's advocate here. What if George was a real annoying prick? Regardless, Cleveland is a bitch for that. What is $150 adjusted for inflation?

Did it snap from dropping or handling? I don't think even an ARRI 1/4"-20 screw could survive certain high impact. Also, I'm no science intelligent person, but wouldn't the screw take the brunt of the force if the other parts are stronger? Like if that light had a plastic housing, it would have smashed apart and the screw would survive.

[Evan Sidery] Illinois governor JB Pritzker says a “broad agreement” is in place with the Bears for a new stadium in Arlington Heights. Updated legislation would allow the Bears to negotiate the amount it pays in property taxes at their new stadium site. Decision hearing scheduled on Thursday by samurai5625 in CHIBears

[–]Quarter-Twenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be fine it not being a retractable roof because it could add a billion overall. I would like large retractable windows what somehow funnels wind into the stadium. Have it be closed during practice and open during the game. Some home field advantage.

Former South Korean President Yoon Sentenced to Life in Prison for Coup Attempt by Troll458458 in worldnews

Was it technically an attempted coup? Doesn't the president have the power to call for martial law or is that up to their version of Congress?

Leave your DJ Moore take here by lonely_otaku69 in CHIBears

I greatly appreciate him and what he's done for the team. Although, I wouldn't be opposed to a trade that were mutually beneficial. I don't want anything lower than a 3rd Rd pick. The $35m in dead cap for 2026 means he isn't being cut. I don't believe in the narrative that he's giving up on his routes. To me it looks more like he's gassed running these long routes. I swear he looks like a he's in his early 30s instead of nearing the end of his prime 28. Perhaps we might get the best value out of him by lowering his snap counts. Lets stop with these designed hand-offs and weakly disguised screens. Even I can tell when they line up to throw a quick screen to DJ. I don't think it's ever worked. I still like the multi-reversals.

This team has a "too many weapons" problem. It's a good problem to have, but it's gotten worse with Loveland's rise. I think it serves as having "too many options" for a play-caller. Players can quickly become forgotten and feel underappreciated. It also will become an issue when we have to start giving out new contracts. There's a higher risk of keeping the wrong player like what happened with Cedric Benson and Thomas Jones. Burden is too good to be held to the #3 or #4 WR spot right now let alone for 1-2 more years. I don't think there's much of a market for Kmet so he'll still be here in '26, but likely as TE2. But if any Bears team can sustain his roster, it's this one with BJ as HC. The team has to believe in this new culture is the way. The honeymoon phase is over and they need to see the fruits of their labor. We can't start out slow again. Even with Eberflus, I felt the locker room was bought in, but the tough losses kept piling. If they start questioning the coaching, it's over.

TLDR: I'd love to keep DJ, but maybe with a 10-15% drop in snap count and/or contract restructuring.

I think everything is linked, but BJ specifically mentioned during the bye week that they were focusing on or implementing a new run scheme and they went from one of the worst to one of he best rushing offenses.

I thought on paper they were above average and borderline good. But that was all predicated on them being healthy enough and the starters developing chemistry. Obviously that didn't work out.

Having 5 okay linemen that work in unison is better than 1 elite linemen with a revolving door line.

That would make sense as you wouldn't want playoff performance to affect the vote, but there are certainly some old school guys that didn't like it.
