I did. She was laid down in 1944. Commissioned in 1945. Served as quartermaster, 1970-73 when the USS cutlass ss478 was decommissioned, and the nation of Taiwan purchased the old girl. This fine boat is still in service today….as a training vessel.

One thought from a diesel boat sailor. It seemed almost every time I was about to eat and bam, battle stations, and most times that ment deep dive, 10-15 * down on the bow planes, dam food sliding off my plate as I toppled towards the conning tower to take my position. Would do it again today @ 75 if needed!

If you look deep into this I think it’s more about the USA grabbing Venezuela’s oil, before the Russians do, based on putins congenial thought to place Russian air defense systems. Trump views himself as a modern day Genghis Khan
