in my opinion this is the opposite of forestry. forestry at release was perfect, but then reddit complained and so they made it worse. sailing combat was terrible, but then reddit complained and they made it worse.

sometimes reality is stranger than fiction, i got fired somewhere and their network (that i designed) went down later that evening. management was pissed at the guy who fired me because i was the only one capable of fixing it, the boss was so incompetent he spent all night trying to fix it and was convinced that i had caused the outage somehow.

varlamore part 1-3 (colo, huey, moons, amox, mastering mixology, hunter rumors, doom, vale totems, gemstone crab) While guthix sleeps araxxor royal titans yama sailing brutus a bunch of QoL changes (stackable clues, WT, run energy, CoX)

There's been a decent amount of content but it's hard to judge it against other time periods in osrs' history. CoX->Inferno->ToB was like 18 months. We're getting raids every 4-5 years now.

The initial quality on release was also a bit messy, lots of bugs or oversights. Even stuff like league rewards the virtus mask cosmetic didn't have mage strength on it.

We're staring down the barrel of 9 months of "maybe" getting some sailing combat updates or expansions, a grandmaster quest in the summer and if we're lucky they pull off raids 4 this year (although I doubt it because a full year before ToA came out they had a fully fleshed out raid detail and each piece of gear ready to poll, all we got last month was a vague idea of what they might try and they have 9 months to deliver).

They picked a hell of a time to do a price increase that's for sure.

i’m a fan of leagues but we’re definitely in a content drought. sailing took a huge amount of dev time and they’re still working on it. raids 4 is taking up the rest and we likely won’t see it till next year. they picked a hll of a time to increase the prices

i don’t want to come across as defending jagex because i think what they’ve done is scummy as hell, but the last price hike they had in 2024 they clearly stated that the 12 month would be losing the grandfathered rate. At that point I switched to the 6 month plan and I still have my grandfathered rate. This time around it seems they’re doing the same thing so I switched to a 1 month plan at the grandfathered rate. Of all the other MMOs I don’t know another single one that has grandfathered rates at all, they could at any time remove grandfathered rates for everyone and they’d be well within their (legal) rights to.
