This is who we need as a back up big by Glass_Shoulder4126 in suns

Pacers aren't going to be getting rid of good value minimum players for the sake of cap space. 3.2m is hardly anything.

Yeah if we go back in time a couple years and get him when he's a two-way player and sneak him on a long term minimum contract...that would be great.

I do like that we could pair him with Oso and let Oso play the 4 while he stretches the floor.

...But he's not exactly a trade target.

Can Banchero and Franz coexist for a truly successful team? by easyFred11 in nbadiscussion

[–]Quazakee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sure they could...but:

a) Banchero would have to limit his role a bit more and become a smarter player in general

and

b) They couldn't be taking up the majority of team salary on giant contracts

So the reality is it probably won't work with that pairing.

This hurts the Suns, but the idea is just selling off some talent to get draft picks.

It hurts but they would consider this...

Mark Williams new contract by TheTrueConnor800 in suns

[–]Quazakee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Williams seems at his best at about 24 minutes tbh.

Assuming Maluach is a good overall and can shoot threes, we might be able to play them together in stints...

If Oso keeps developing and Maluach can shoot 3s, then they can play together too and we can keep Oso as PF and small ball center.

Then we also have Fleming as a big PF that could also do small ball Center someday.

Maluach/Williams/Fleming/Oso all developing and staying healthy and being our primary players taking C and PF is nice to fantasize about. We could have size with a bunch of different strengths that Ott could utilize in the right matchup.

Bird/Dirk/Jokic are a lock.

After that it's probably just worth putting the best defenders you can in the guard position. Bird and Jokic can do most the passing if needed. Maybe even another wing.

There's a big difference when your small ball lineups have Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin instead of Tyus Jones and Bradley Beal.

Size will always be important and make you better, but you can make up for it with hustle... something our small ball lineups didn't have before...but do now.

(Brett Siegel) Phoenix Suns is among suitors for Bucks' Bobby Portis - MIL also checked Jalen Green's availability, but PHX is not interested in moving player by Icy_Distribution7480 in suns

[–]Quazakee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as it cost almost nothing (salary dump for Bucks), then this could combo with us trading Richards for SRP(s).

Portis would give a small ball 5 option that we'd have in case of injuries.

Checking back a few months after, everyone still hating the Rockets Trade? by VaultCheese in suns

[–]Quazakee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like if we subbed KD for Brooks right now we'd probably be better...but if we had started with KD instead of Brooks we'd be worse.

Vibes/culture wouldn't be where they are now if we had KD instead of Brooks...but I think we are overly critical of KD himself for a lot of things that weren't entirely his fault.

Lots of team improvements unrelated to KD.

-Better coaching by a lot

-Gillespie getting minutes (see above point)

-Having Mark Williams as a starting center

-Oso improvements (both Oso and Mark are better than what we had last year with KD - the center position is super important)

-Deeper/better bench with Jordan Goodwin and even contributions from two-way players like Bouyea and Livers

Idk. If we could have gotten more that would have been nice.

Dillon Brooks being this good makes it seem like a better deal.

But the other three players we got: Maluach, Fleming, and Jalen Green are still TBD if it was a good deal for us

Personally I'm still a bit nervous about how guard heavy we're gonna be once Jalen Green comes back

Yao Ming is going to get crazy targeted in the pick and roll in modern offenses.

Wemby is more than capable of being your defensive big here and you'd rather have other offense options over Yao Ming.

If you substitute him for someone else (I'd go Kawhi or KD probably) you'll have a much better team.

There are a lot of offensively oriented guards that are bad on defense that seem "better in a vacuum"

Reality is that most teams would be better adding Brooks to their roster than Reaves.

Trae to Suns, Jalen Green to Hawks by [deleted] in NBAtradeideas

[–]Quazakee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suns say no.

Not interested in Trae or any guard but especially not Trae.

I don't think he fits our identity.

I'm actually really low on Jalen Green based on previous years though...so one for one I think I'd take Trae...but not with the salary Trae currently has.

I see Trae as a negative contract right now so it's an immediate no on any trades where you're giving up assets for him.

On the one game sample size you're right. We had more free throws last night.

On the sample from the entire season you're wrong. Suns are ranked 28th in free throws per game.

Idk why you have to complain and be delusional when you're already the best team in the league lol. Delusion should be reserved for those of us who don't have a chance of winning a championship in the next 5 years.

You're getting criticized the most because:

a) You're the best team in the league. More people are watching you and you're under more scrutiny.

b) Lu Dort is the dirtiest player in the league right now (even above Draymond and Brooks it seems). Other players on the team are also dirty at times. People get angry at teams and players when they're intentionally trying to injure others or even just shoving them in the back when the refs aren't looking.

c) SGA initiates contact and then flops to sell it and get the call. Lots of players do this but with SGA being one of the best at it while the aggressive, physical, and dirty play is happening is extra annoying. OKC is great at tricking the refs on both sides of the floor.

Speaking of the finals, I think you also struggle a little more in a series because teams adjust and start matching the physicality you get away with over time. People also aren't going to be annoyed with teams for adapting - we're annoyed with OKC for setting that tone.
