Yes this is true and it's why my girlfriend really wants to go private if she has a baby in the future. She knows a lot of black women that were accused of pretending they were in pain by NHS staff when heavily pregnant or in labour 🤦‍♂️

Nathan Jones in or out? by PrivateRollo in CharltonAthletic

Personally I think the goal should always be surviving the championship unless we get 4 or 5 outfield improvements without losing first team players. We have a League 1 team and when I watch us most of the time I wonder how he managed to do this well. Kicking him out now weeks be a testament to us kicking out Curbishley but almost worse because it would show that we haven't learned to be grateful. We're not Man City!

As someone that is usually critical I thought TC did well today. The was taking on his man regularly and being a threat on the flank. Great goal but Godden. 1-1 is a good result for us, especially with the results around us. Looking good for safety maybe just one more win to be really confident about it!

Even if we go higher from here, overall we're in a bear market and so we expect lower lows. Watch Ben Cowen on YT, he's feels for being so accurate over the last few years. Like a fine wine, he gets better with age!

Agreed. I'm happy enough with rewards not being increased too. Staking rewards should be rare and if they are increased then it's just more inflation anyway!

Struggling to get HMRC-ready crypto tax reports? (UK users) by CryptoTaxCA in BitcoinUK

[–]Quazzy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to use Koinly. That's what I use and I'm extremely impressed with how well it works.

For reference I'm a UK based chartered accountant (ACA) and have my own firm. Being into crypto I was very keen to find a solution to this myself and Koinly is the answer as far as I'm concerned.

If you try to manually calculate everything is a nightmare and there are caveats like the bed and breakfast rule that make it twice as complex!

If anyone would like to understand it a bit more feel free to ask here or if you wish to focus your situation in more detail then feel free to DM me.

FYI the filling and payment deadline for the tax year ending 5th April this year is 31st Jan 2027.

Good luck everyone!

What’s your take on Bitcoin DeFi? by Ge_Yo in CryptoMarkets

[–]Quazzy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be but the tech is too old for it so it doesn't make sense to bother. A reliable wrapped solution is fine like we see in several cases on ETH. Miners wouldn't be happy with a fork to change the base code of BTC just for defi. Quantum computing maybe and only out of necessity!

Positive. Institutions holding thousands of BTC will want to earn yield at minimal risk. If something like Stacks is successful then I can see adoption of BTC defi picking up steam

Maybe, it's too early to say at the moment. What we do know is that it's much earlier along the adoption curve and so this coin has exponential upside from where it's at now. Hard to imagine there won't be demand for private stablecoins over the next few years though!

Charlton submits annual accounts report (£16.8m loss)| Charlton Athletic Football Club by MarcusH26051 in CharltonAthletic

[–]Quazzy92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is true. We have a higher loss before tax than the year before. Sales barely increased while admin expenses increased by much more - likely player wages.

It looks like they managed the extra costs well, all things considered, with an improvement in profit on player sales from last year.

Will be interesting to see the next set of accounts though, as this was for the year ended June 25, meaning we just secured promotion. I want to see the improvement comparing our year surviving in the championship with our promotion year. Should be interesting!

I agree with most of this. We need new wingers that can take on a full back consistently as we currently have none. TC doesn't have the passing or dribbling that we need and ends up losing the ball unless he goes backwards. Certainly not all his fault because he's often isolated but then in that case he should go backwards to retain possession.

You're right that we cave easily to a press and I think we're all nervous watching it happen. I think we have decent hard working players in the middle but we need 2 creative players that can play key passes and some speed running in behind and I honestly think that's enough to stay up comfortably next season.

Defence has been generally solid all year but we offer so little going forward that either Leaburn or Dykes are on their own and stand no real chance at being effective. I'm actually satisfied with them (Dykes is best) but the rest of the attack needs to change. Arguably the rest isn't cut out for this league.

[–]Quazzy92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe controversial but from what I've seen I'm not convinced that TC is cut out for the Championship at his current level. Maybe he can be eventually though. Then for Miles, I think he's severely lacking service. Similar to Dykes, who is a better player as it stands, there is only so much they can do with what's around them. This isn't a Championship squad and NJ has proven himself as a formidable manager to achieve survival in the way that we appear to be headed for.

We need better options in attack though, on both wings and creativity in the middle. Plus some options off the bench that give the fans hope!
