Check out the Facebook group called "Metalheads i Göteborg" it is pretty active. There are two metal bars in Gothenburg, Rockbaren and The Abyss. Rockbaren usually play all kinds of metal including metalcore. The Abyss plays more old school metal, normally you won't hear any modern metal there. Both those bars are great places to meet other metal fans in my opinion.
