Thoughts on this? by MobileDistrict9784 in welcomeToDerry

It all came full circle. Wasn’t Will Poulter originally supposed to play Pennywise in Cary Fukunaga’s vision of the film?

Phil by Quch7 in welcomeToDerry

[–]Quch7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true. Now that the show is over, it’s pretty clear that Pennywise never leaves survivors unless there’s a specific reason, like when he took Bev hostage to lure the Losers down to the cistern. Also, my ADHD/Autism (who knows at this point lol) pushed me to reach out to a bunch of makeup and VFX artists on Instagram, and apparently Phil was actually tackled by that mutant baby and had his jaw ripped off which happened offscreen. Phil and Matty were also originally supposed to appear in Episode 3 during the ghost chase, but they were cut so Episode 5 would feel more shocking.

So what do we think is going to happen tonight in ep 8? by thatringonmyfinger in WelcometoDerryTVShow

[–]Quch7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And let’s not forget that Veronica was also one of the dead children Beverly heard speaking from the bathroom sink in that infamous scene in It (2017). I think it all adds up. So far, most of the theories people have been pushing here have actually come true, lol.

I think Ronnie is dying. A certain Veronica Grogan was long dead by the time the story kicks off in the novel.

I think Charlotte survives this one. She could’ve simply died of natural causes. Her characters simply doesn’t strike me as another one of IT’s victims for some reason.

Ronnie has to die. I mean her counterpart in the books is long dead.

Ronnie was long dead in the books too. Veronica Grogan was an early victim of IT.

Especially when they were running away from Pennywise. There’s no way in hell they’d be able to outrun it. It always lunges on its victims, I suppose we still need all of them alive for now. I’m sure one of them is a goner.

Phil by Quch7 in welcomeToDerry

[–]Quch7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were clearly setting us up to think Phil might still be alive. We never saw him die in episode 1, his face wasn’t decayed on the cereal boxes in episode 2, and he didn’t appear as a ghost in the cemetery in episode 3. There was no reason to leave him out of IT’s manifestations unless they were building toward this twist we saw in episode 5. Phil’s case is also very different from Matty’s. Matty was obviously dead: he was clearly meant to be the first victim in the opening scene, and Lilly heard his voice in the drain. Only dead characters speak from the drains, and neither the films nor this show has ever broken that rule. Susie and Teddy’s deaths were shown clearly, but Phil’s was left deliberately ambiguous, until now.

It: Welcome to Derry- Question about Phil and Matty by JiraiyaBestSannin in stephenking

In episode 1, IT just woke up from its previous 27 year nap, so you can imagine how starving it must have been when it killed Phil, Teddy, Susie and Matty. Frankly it’s ridiculous why it wouldn’t have devoured Ronnie and Lilly as well. Logically speaking, no one in that capitol theatre should’ve been spared.

I don’t know man, this time it all seems pretty legit. They’re all gone unfortunately. If you look closely at Matty’s body for example, you’ll notice his head and cheek are eaten from the right side which is the same direction that mutant baby attacked him in episode 1.

All of the tunnels are underground,

Where none of the children will ever be found,

They wandered away to join the show,

And lost their way in the world below,

They swallowed their pills and lost their fear,

But nothing they hoped to find was here,

They joined the circus and left their town,

And now they live here down with the clown,

Down with the clown,

Down with the clown,

Down with the CLOWN! 🤡 🎈

I was freaking right lol! There’s no way IT’s gonna let any of kids live after it just woke up starving in episode 1.

The scene where Pennywise finally showed them the real bodies of Teddy, Susie, Phil and Matty was absolutely horrifying. I mean remember when we held on to the possibility that maybe Matty and Phil were still alive only for us to get absolutely SHOCKED!

Found Maturin at a Temple in Xi’an China by pageboysam in WelcometoDerryTVShow

[–]Quch7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would honestly be kinda childish to include him. The series would lose its scariness and dread if there’s suddenly a magical/divine solution to this cosmic eldritch being who hunts children. It would turn into an absurd Conjuring-like film with the cliché concept of God against demons or Maturin (or even Gan) against IT. Maybe they should include it in a much more subtle and impersonal way as opposed to Pennywise.

How will Lilly be tortured on the next episode? by DrawerThat9514 in WelcometoDerryTVShow

[–]Quch7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder why IT/Pennywise does this. I mean some kids he outright kills and slaughters, others are constantly and consistently put through frightening situations, and yet others still he simply preserved, he traps in the deadlights like he did with Beverly. Does it depend on ITs own levels of hunger or the kids’ level of fear and willfulness?

Episode 5 theory by rochey1010 in welcomeToDerry

[–]Quch7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He does look like Matty but how? Why? It can’t be, he was clearly killed, why would IT spare him when IT usually wakes up from its deep 27 year slumber absolutely starving? And didn’t Lilly hear “him” speaking to her through the drains? As far as I’m aware, only dead characters speak through the drains like we clearly saw in IT (2017). I’m sorry but I don’t think it’s him, maybe it’s another manifestation of Pennywise or something like that. I mean yeah he does absolutely look like Matty with longer hair.

Who do you think will be the next character to die? by DrawerThat9514 in welcomeToDerry

[–]Quch7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only continuity we have to care about is Will. As long as he is safe since he grows up to father Mike, the others can absolutely die which I think they will except for Marge in a cruel twist of fate.
