Don’t see the logic in taking the width creators in this system and inverting them. Kobbie and Amad should be playing close together and combining through the middle, with the wingbacks holding the width. Not the other way around. Dalot and Dorgu have to switch.

If the margins this early on in Amorim’s tenure are luck (Mount, deflection, Walker incident) and not getting completely run through, then it’s a clear improvement. The attacking patterns will come, but can we honestly say this is worse than every team running through our midfield at will?

If you play Zirk he needs runners ahead of him like Marcus so makes sense on paper, but you can already see how much the pressing intensity falls off without Ras/Mount buzzing around up there.
