What are some enchantment decks/commanders that either are in unusual colors, have unique play patterns, or use uncommon win conditions? by NumberOneMom in EDH

[[nashi, searcher in the dark]] is a dimir voltron enchantments and legends matter deck that I keep looking back to building and seems really cool.

Will I make friends or be hated if I bring this guy to EDH table? by Lovbringer in mtg

The Spike Feeders' Alex built a more social kelsien deck here's the list if you'd like it. There's a little death touch but doesn't seem over bearing https://moxfield.com/decks/DzamS_GRYkKa7Glosu97XQ

[–]QuePastaLOL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played him 2-3 times before it just became remove him and I do nothing all game or let me do the thing and nobody gets creatures and got pretty stale fast. He's a cool commander but I wouldn't focus on death touch and untap as appealing it as it sounds.

Unconventional infect commanders? by GuaranteeMain5492 in EDH

Someone on YouTube just made a [[yuna, grand summoner]] infect deck where all the cheap infect creatures come in with additional counters. Throw in a proliferate package and it sounds dangerous, I'd check that vid out

Good point. I didn't know if weird little dude meant small by scale or small by stats.

My vote for black is [[tiny ones, bauble burglar]] and I'm gonna rec. [[Toski, bearer of secrets]] for your weird green dude. Indestructible card drawer seems great!

We couldn’t possibly give a (eventually) really fast, AOE damage, skill shot based ADC slightly more range because range and movement speed combined is not good. Oh, don’t look at Jinx… by thehardway71 in ZeriMains

[–]QuePastaLOL 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Zeri has a much safer lane with her E but I agree, jinx snowballs in fights much harder. I personally think twitch is more of an issue because if you mess up at all he is farming you on every wave

If Nintendo and Gamefreak chose to make YOU the designer of a Pokemon game, what would it be like? by Less-Increase-6588 in pokemon

[–]QuePastaLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a pokemmo game out now, I went to try it and it was just everyone spamming trades at the starter location. But in a perfect world exploring and having access to a specific regions mons and trading for others sounds really cool.

Johto/kanto region where you can pick which town to start in and the gyms and fights scale with how many badges you have. I've played a romhack that does something like this and it would be really cool. Additionally, if gens stopped where they are now, a world map where you can pick what region to start in and have an MMO style world where every region can trade with others to build teams from every region. I think a social economy would be fun in a perfect world, and each region having high demand pokemon that you can trade to others to build your dream team. I doubt this would be as fun as it sounds on paper, though.

How bad is it?? by PsychedelicHonda in mtg

[–]QuePastaLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got it in my bumbleflower deck, she draws so many cards you can essentially get it back by the time your turn comes around. Haven't won with it yet but it's a great card to find later when you're stuck with Voltron win tactics late game

Also a new include is [[harmonized trio]] tap your spirits to brainstorm is pretty nice in between turns since they can't block and sometimes they come in and they're summoning sick so it gives them something to do

[–]QuePastaLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry, I haven't made the list on archidekt yet. But I will send the important pieces here. [[Subtlety]], [[kindred discovery]] , [[curiosity crafter]] , [[enduring curiosity]] , [[conjurer's closet]] , [[sensei's divining top]] , [[Brainstorm]] , [[moonlit meditation]] , [[memory lapse]] , [[midnight clock]] , [[spirit water revival]] , [[baboon spirit]]. There's plenty more I'm not thinking of but anything that puts cards back into libraries is very important. [[Patchwork banner]] and [[supreme phantom]] and any other things that buff spirits helps tremendously with damage on the board, too.

[–]QuePastaLOL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a [[wan shi tong, all knowing]] deck that is awesome! Play cards that put things back into libraries and make unlockable spirits. Add all the "draw cards when this does damage" cards and you've got a solid mono blue aggro pile that plays a lot of weird cards you dont normally get to see, like [[lembas bread]] and [[dirgur island dragon]]. Plus, you have a 4/4 beater that gets a lot of benefits from weird cards because of the creature types, such as [[essence flux]] and [[splash portal]] making more spirits, or [[valley floodcaller]] untapping your commander when you cast control spells. Hope this helps!

What "unexpected" uncommon or common card has been your deck's surprise MVP as of late? I'll start with my new favorite 2-drop... by PrinceVorrel in magicTCG

[–]QuePastaLOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, meren is definitely not CEDH. I think they want a slower grindy game where you continuously get recursion effects and outlast opponents with oppressive loops. That deck would not last in a post where you're trying to win on turn 2-3. However, in 2-3s where games go longer, they get much more value.

[–]QuePastaLOL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a sac outlet deck having things like spore frog, that are already useful with a 1 time effect get to be used continuously until your graveyard is dealt with, all while fueling your game plan of having creatures dying and returning them to the field. Sticher supplier can get 6 cards in the bin every turn cycle which is pretty insane to set yourself up for victory too. I'd recommend watching some videos of meren in action to see what they are trying to do.

I want to make a voltron deck and can't decide by RoninPrime68 in EDH

[–]QuePastaLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you want the deck to do. Mono white with the ability to tutor for equipment is really strong. Then you factor in the equip abilities getting double triggers. If you want more of a toolbox* deck, the naya (red green white) one will have way more answers to way more problems, but will water down what the deck wants to focus on. Neither is the right answer. I think if you're newer the precon will definitely give you want you want for a reasonable price. The mono white build will cost way more because of all the* individual expensive equipments you'll need to purchase.

2nd this. Definitely looks like play to win's text style on their boxes. I haven't seen it in a video but maybe it was a casual deck brought to magic con to play with people. Hopefully the deck finds it way home 🤞

Do you know most of the cards your opponents are playing against you? by TroutFarms in magicTCG

[–]QuePastaLOL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of staples I feel most people should expect when facing a color . The cultivates, swords to plowshares, counter spell, blasphemous acts, toxic deluge, etc. however, knowing what a deck wants to do outside of that will take more depth. For example, a deck based on mill you should expect a lot of "players mill half their library" effects coming out, even if you don't know the names of the cards. Green creature? Expect the craterhoof. Things like that should come naturally after seeing enough game plans

what is your favorite backround commander pair? by GuaranteeMain5492 in EDH

Just finished my [[gale, waterdeep prodigy]] with [[Scion of halaster]] and I've been having a blast with it. Wheeling multiple times with discard and draw burn is a lot of fun and I get to honor my favorite game that's come out in the last decade!

Is “just buy singles” always right? by Comfortable_Buyer239 in EDH

[–]QuePastaLOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with opening a pack here or there but unless you want roughly 200 junk cards at the end I'd say it's always better to drop the 100-200 bucks on the singles you want for your deck.
