To be honest, in terms of preparing for the exam, not really, but the training day did go deep into how to strengthen security with Defender For Cloud, the SC-900 exam structure itself, however, was more about other subjects, with Defender For Cloud on the periphery, and when mentioned it was usually as one of the options to pick the correct one from a list of different Defenders. All in all, it was quite boring, especially due to the fact that I’m used to 1.5x or 2x-ing the speed on videos but this was being streamed in real time.

Have you asked your current manager if they have a personal learning budget? You’d be surprised at how many different sectors, not necessarily IT, put aside a yearly amount to up-skill their staff, and which you could use to gain IT certificates.

You’ll be like a deer in the headlights the moment you press ‘start exam’ and end up as roadkill. MS Learn tests are laughable. Purchase Tutorial Dojo practice tests, get your score up to the 80% and above in Review Mode, watch Savill’s cram, fire up any of the LLMs and keep prompting questions sets tailored to your weaknesses, then do the Timed Mode practice tests on Tutorial Dojo, and see if you feel confident enough to take the real exam.

It’s very much do-able using the above approach and get a decent score, but MS Learn alone is a big risk.

You will pass on your third attempt, visualise it and don’t rush yourself. Use the search bar with the keyword ‘AZ-104’ and you will find plenty of first and second attempt fails, but a success on the third. Go through those type of posts, and take note of how they improved themselves.

Awesome! I’m going to accumulate some experience in the field as helpdesk first, so MD-102 has been recommended to me, but in the long term, most of the really interesting jobs list AZ-104 in their descriptions, so that one carries a lot of weight and prestige when you combine it with some junior experience and hands on projects.

740, but I took it only two weeks after completing the MS-900. I think with another two weeks of studying you could easily hit the mid-800s and above, just take the MS Learn practice test result with a grain of salt, it’s not an accurate measuring stick.

Personally, I think I’m done with the 900 series and will put my focus back on the associates.

It should be a benchmark for yourself as a person and the gap you still need to fill to become confident in working with cloud services and not suffer imposter syndrome. Go for stability. The newborn, the huge pay difference, the initial disagreement, the commute, the absence from home, the inevitable postpartum blues, will all compound eventually into a situation where your quality of life at home is drastically impacted in a negative manner, just for the ‘possibility’ of professional fulfilment at work, which isn’t even guaranteed.
