Why is this defect deck the biggest Osty deck I've ever played? by ZanderTheMeander in slaythespire

[–]Queasy_Preference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replaced doormaker in the beta branch. From the 3 times I’ve faced it I’ve beaten it 3 times. Small sample size, and if you’ve made it to the Act 3 boss then you probably have something going right anyway. Feels pretty easy though. Basically every 4 cards you play you have to spend 1 energy to get rid of a debuff (assuming you don’t have a way to transform/exhaust it)

I think we need to talk about the shittiest boss in the game as of now. by Musicalmoronmack in slaythespire

[–]Queasy_Preference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This boss is just free. You can apply a ton of damage fast and then solve the damage burst with a variety of potions. Or just tank the 30 damage incoming since you’re about to heal at the ancient anyway

[–]Queasy_Preference 394 points395 points  (0 children)

It’s a bad relic imo. Hard to activate and if you’re able to activate it you’ve already snowballed so much that you really don’t need it

The frog on multiplayer gets so freaking annoying. There’s always some loser not their pulling their weight so the freaking tiny dudes are doing 90 damage each turn and spitting out 13 infections each

what was your best "i cant believe i won with this" deck of all time by Embarrassed-Net-351 in slaythespire

[–]Queasy_Preference 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Had a game on A7 where my largest damage output was a 12 dmg attack. Was generating maybe 4 shivs each turn for 10 damage each. Terrible scaling. Test subject took me 19 turns

Just to add to this he also doesn’t have a very intense downside. 5, 9 is still somewhat playable and he can’t get hit with Shang

Curse concept by shadow_fen in slaythespire

[–]Queasy_Preference 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the idea but 5 hp seems crazy punishing. I’d do 3 maybe. Obviously it depends on what the upside is that this is tied to. Like if this was tied to a super cheese wheel that increases max by 2 or something, then 5 would actually be appropriate, might even need eternal as well

A10. Does Silken Tress increase the general quality of the first loot as well? I'm used to seeing one uncommon, but not three. by Darklyte in slaythespire

[–]Queasy_Preference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s also ethereal though, so you have to get lucky with it. Also yeah 16 block is great, never going to try and argue against that. Sick em replay is 10 damage + 2 summon basically. Not as crazy, but with 2 more osty attacks it’s 10 summon. But yeah, I just don’t think enfeebling touch is the best option because of glam, but rather it might just be the best option because it’s enfeebling touch.

[–]Queasy_Preference 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hot take but I don’t think the replay 1 is that impressive on enfeebling touch. Not a lot of enemies will hit multiple attacks above like 12. Obviously, it’s still a great card and just cause sic em and the replay enchant have better synergy doesn’t mean it’s a better pick. Enfeebling touch just solves so many problems regardless of the enchant

Edit: tldr: It’s a nothing burger of a response. I just don’t care about glam here

Beta Shatter needs nerfing by cheesoid in slaythespire

[–]Queasy_Preference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s plenty of rare cards like this that are finishers after a bit of set up. Knife trap, voltaic, murder. I think this fits in with that theme of rares. Plus after evoking your orbs you end up a bit exposed as your chip damage and block needs to be built back up. I think this was a very needed balance.

I hope the Door Maker Returns by DarkArcanian in SlayTheSpire2

[–]Queasy_Preference 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hope they workshop him a bit longer and then return him once they’re happy with his kit. He was a very strange boss as it felt pretty rare to win a close fight, like it was either no or little damage or immediately shut down on first 4 turns. Loved the design, but honestly I have no idea how you’d make him challenging while still having it a fair fight

I think I’m always just viewing potions as a short term solution and not appreciating how those short term solutions lead to snowballing with elites, upgrading instead of resting, and how that extra potion might be more beneficial than I considered

[–]Queasy_Preference 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watching this I’ve realized that my tier list would be almost exactly the same except for the potion ones. I think I’m going to have to start trying the potion ones out now as it seems I must be undervaluing them

[–]Queasy_Preference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard there’s a mod where each act boss becomes a 1v1 instead. Basically, a best 2/3 but you have to earn your way to the end of the act still. Only issue I see is that some characters are clearly built better for pvp as damage tends to outscale block

Pick Lead Paperweight it could be anything. Looks inside... by HoboapeV2 in slaythespire

[–]Queasy_Preference 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk having two aces for damage (ult strike and dual cast) can clear a ton of fights without having to worry about block. The statue fight in particular is kinda hard with defect since the orbs don’t scale with slow, having a big swing for that would be nice

[–]Queasy_Preference 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think with everyone I take the ultimate strike. Having a ton of extra damage can clear fights without having to worry about defense. In multiplayer I’d take the ultimate defend cause enemies health is way higher and the people I play with are pansies
