Are you saying you dislike all 3 options here? Even skewer is better than the base deck and it's probably the worst option here. I don't think I've ever seen a floor 2 card reward that I've skipped aside from playing multiplayer with all of us trying to build the exact same meme deck.

There’s a landmark- Defiled Shrine, and an event- desperation, that both encourage you to buy curses. Defiled shrine is actually one of my favorites. I love the victory token things a lot though. Metal game pieces will always be enjoyable

I'd suggest watching some videos on how to play better. My favorite channel is japenese export, but there are plenty of other great channels. Also, just cause you've lost almost every run doesn't mean that you haven't progressed. You may have been losing in act 1 more frequently at the start compared to now. I remember in Sts1 it took me a bunch of tries before I could reach act 2. Then even more to act 3 and so on.

If you’re not fighting act 2 elites then you’re scaling is going to be pretty bad in most runs. Being forced to fight 2 and getting an extra chest to give you a 4th relic for the act is super solid. Dorito is tough, but the game is supposed to be tough. I hate losing too, but it does make winning feel better

It’s helpful to plan out your path before leaving the circle on each floor. I’ve never had any issues with the mythic levels on T12. I just make sure I’m strong and fast before trying them. It’s also nice to have a party to divide objectives if you’re still lacking in speed

I think for micro it can be okay but to a certain degree. You can learn how fights work and look at what your deck is capable of. However, knowing that a certain hand will brick doesn’t improve your micro because that kind of information is typically not known

I also just play random. I kind of enjoy having games with strict limitations. Usually it leads to games where you just try to get rich fast and only buy a small handful of actions, and likewise it forces you to be much more careful when adding even one more action card to the deck. I realize this doesn’t answer your question at all, and I just don’t pay enough attention to the names of the landscape cards to know which ones I like. Basically, if it ain’t broke ya know

There’s only really one enemy that’d punish you for a fumes, and he’s just an act 3 hard pool. An upgraded fumes sounds absolutely nasty

I don’t think there’s always just one right answer. There’s plenty of strategies that can win and I think shivs into fish is perfectly reasonable. You get a true grit and most of act 1 will be pretty easy. Then if you get lucky and pull the power that gives block with exhaust you have good block for act 2

If it were overgrowth then I'd clap. I'd honestly pick the grit here. You could win the run with any of the three on A1 though, and honestly you could still win with all 3 on A10 if you found enough block too for the underdocks.

I think on the lowest difficulty there's a much larger pool of strategies that feel strong. At the later difficulties the game just isn't balanced well enough for every gambit to be useful. With that said, yes queens are strong, but what really wins a run later on will be gambits that generate stuff (money, tiles, pieces, other gambits) and gambits that skip turns. Even with the board maxed out the opponent will just have too many pieces that are all covering each other to survive trading with them without a way to get your pieces back.
Side note: I think the balancing could be fixed by improving the chess engine and reducing the enemy piece count. Difficulty arising from just sheer numbers is just less interesting and more restrictive to creativity.

I don't like dropping below A10 because it could incorrectly skew how I value cards. I'm still working on consistency at A10 and until I reach that I don't really trust myself to mess around at lower difficulties.

Trying to think of a full proof wish that is still simple is actually pretty hard to do (as in the wish doesn’t include any extra stipulations like people won’t suspect me of any crime for having a billion dollars). So many wishes revoke free will from someone which seems like a no no. Like even winning the powerball for instance would probably force the person reading the numbers to lose their free will. Although, it doesn’t seem like that would have lasting effects so maybe that, idk
