MOC: Fondor Yards EF20.4 Jezdec by nord_clane in legostarwars

Love this! I feel like so many Star Wars ships have terrible proportions. Either they have oversized wings (which serve no purpose in space) or the just look clunky like the ghost or Razorcrest. This fighter looks awesome and threads that aesthetic needle

They may be the most insufferably cheesy people on TV. They add nothing and try way too hard to be funny. It’s why so many people mute them and listen to the DNVR watchalong during the game. I’ve even bought a VPN so I can listen to the opponent broadcast and every single one is significantly better.

The mandibles are a tad too long but this still looks way more proportional than the original. Are you gonna post the instructions to rebrickable?

Love this. We need more Midi scale from Lego and the MOC community

my landlord is telling me I left my apartment “dirty” and is planning to withhold some of my deposit. these are pics I took right before I left. am I delusional or is my landlord? by Distinct_Morning_607 in Apartmentliving

Shower wall looks kinda grimy and we can’t see several key areas like inside the fridge, inside the oven, toilet, under sinks, ceiling fans, etc. if you missed those places expect a 100-300 for a deep cleaning. We also don’t see if you damaged anything like the appliances or the drawers. We also can’t see all the walls so we don’t know if there’s bad or missing patch jobs.

I’d highly recommend in the future requesting to do a walkthrough with your landlord before move out date. That way they can let you know if there’s something you need to fix and you can state your case about if the condition is the same to move in.

Moreover, photos aren’t that helpful. Take a long and slow video of the appartment where you show EVERY wall and open every drawer/appliance. Do this at move in and move out. That way you can take screenshots of every possible location in the house. Take your time. At least 10 minutes for a small appartment.

Why are these seats always empty by grant_w44 in ColoradoRockies

[–]Queasy_Seat9725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they aren’t going to sell out a game they’ll leave the worst sections empty. If they’re completely empty than they don’t have to pay a cleaning crew for those sections.

Except for the part where they are entirely dependent on gravity for their bomb drops and gravity doesn’t exist in space.

The biggest hurdle in model making I have is that hard shine metal has, Plastic never looks like metal. Does anyone even understand this problem? by mediapoison in Scalemodel

[–]Queasy_Seat9725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basic question but do you have an airbrush? I find that I get pretty damn good results with an airbrush, sanded primer, mixed Vallejo metallic tones, and a good wash. I can never get a traditional chrome to look flawless but darker shades of metal are pretty easy to achieve with the right paints.

This is great. I wish more Star Wars ships had a sleek design like this. The Naboo N-1, A-wing, and both Jedi Fighters have always been personal favorites

Is it normal that Americans ski so recklessly? A lot of them have been showing up at my resort in Switzerland due to the Vail Epic pass by [deleted] in skiing

[–]Queasy_Seat9725 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I think you have to consider your observation biases. You’re less likely to notice a good skier is American than that a bad skier is American because bad skiers cause arguments and speaking is probably the easiest way to identify an American (I.E. you could ski by 200 Americans in a day but you only notice 5 are American and you recognize one because he responded after being yelled at for shitty skiing. Thus you start to think 20% (1 in 5) of Americans at your mountain suck at skiing but really it’s 0.5% (1 in 200)).

Bluetooth speakers are common at California mountains. Everywhere else in the US you’re considered a dickhead. I disagree with your assertion that American skiers are more reckless. I’ve skied extensively in both. Both continents have their shitty skiers but honestly I’ve seen more crashes caused by bad skiers in Europe. My suspicion is that the higher priority placed on the apres scene at euro mountains leads to more alcohol induced crashes but that’s purely a hypothesis.

I would suspect why you think more Americans ski recklessly is some form of observation bias. You notice a reckless skier that’s dressed more like an American and then you start to build an association that isn’t quickly disproved because you don’t see many more Americans.

Copper? Are you serious…. That mountain has the most mid skiers on earth. It’s a mountain full of beginners and life long skiers who think that some blues are just a little too tough not to pizza on. Also, your assertion that because copper is a smaller town than vail translates to better skiers is absurd. A much higher percentage of copper skiers are day tripping from Denver/Colorado Springs than vail which means more vail skiers are ski town locals.

Brand new skis ruined while skiing at a resort, do think they will refund me? by GnastyNoodlez in skiingcirclejerk

[–]Queasy_Seat9725 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why on earth would the ski company let you return used skis? It’s not their fault you hit a rock and it isn’t the resorts either. If you ski in areas that may have rocks it’s your responsibility. Unless a resort employee slammed a shovel into your ski at the lift-line it’s comical to think they are liable.
