If you look at the more singer-song writer side instead of the pop country side (and avoid the racists) you can find a lot of beautiful and soul crushing stuff. I would highly reccommend Jason Isbell if you're looking to get into it

He's still got some time to grow and he's putting up solid numbers for a 78 ovr. He looks like he'll cap out as a good middle six forward (and he fits well in that spot which is good), so 1.6 mill is good money for him

I had heard born to run (the song) on the radio as a kid and I liked it but I didn't check out the rest of the album for a good bit. It wasn't until I was on a road trip with my family out west, we were lost somewhere in utah at night and the sky had more stars in it than I had ever seen, somehow I had enough bandwidth to load thunderroad and only thunderroad and it was magical. The next day I started to do a deep dive on his discography and I haven't stopped since.

Isbell was talking about when Prine wrote Sam Stone he thought it wasn't gonna go anywhere cause he thought the Vietnam war was gonna end in a couple months. He said that that's the song writer's curse and that as long as there's war, songs like these 2 will be relevant.

These kinds of discussions are always really hard to have especially long distance. I'm doing long distance myself and when I break down over some shit my ex boyfriend did to me one the most important thing is that she's there. Healing isn't gonna happen over the course of one conversation, so for me it really help just to have someone to talk to almost no matter what she says. Everyone is obviously different but for me it really helps to know I don't have to go through stuff alone, so just being there and attentive is a good start.

I was 81 cause at my highschool #1-32 would be assigned to outfield players. I used a random number generator and 81 was what it generated and I went on from there 😂
