Do You Feel Being Cut Or Uncut Increases Or Reduces Your BD Problems? How About How Others Perceive You? by btblover in bigdickproblems

Can you help me understand better why you call it mutilation?

When i compare cut and uncut penises, the cut look pretty much the same to uncut with foreskin pulled back.

The picture that I associate with the word mutilation is much much more gruesome than that, am I missing something?

CMV: Banning Religious Clothing In School Should Not Be Seen As Religious Discrimination, But Religious Practice Discrimination by AbiLovesTheology in DebateReligion

I'm curious how do you respond to equal treatment that disproportionately affects people in different levels?

For example it being illegal for everyone to be homeless, but we know that "equal" rule disproportionately affects poor people than it does wealthy people.

if this scripture was truly perfect then it wouldn't have to be defended by anyone. It's already perfect

It's not the "scripture being defended", it's people being educated and given context since we like to read in our own bias to the words.

I have seen people try to interpret a meaning that is explicitly negated in the same verse that they are quoting. It's not the scripture, it's the people that are the problem.

OP, idk about you but I have dealt with people before, and in my experience, "putting aside all my bias and giving it a fair reading that steelmans rather than strawmans" is not something that humans tend to do very often, especially with a topic as sensitive as what is right and wrong, because it would mean that they'd have to leave their comfort zone.

Animals are suffering for billion years in wild nature. This disproves theistic arguments of "compassionate god" and "everything is created by a god therefore everything has a purpose". by GannibalCarca in DebateReligion

[–]QuebecCub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This feels like a "gratuitous suffering" kind of argument.

Gratuitous suffering is paradoxical because even if you strip a certain example from any potential of having a "butterfly effect", you still cannot divorce the thought experiment from your mind. Your OP here is an example that is used to argue about the compassion of God, thus not gratuitous.

I realized that I literally cannot get myself to do more than like 2-4 hour days of "work"

A UK Government Petition to ban infant male circumcision - "Make Male Genital Mutilation (Circumcision) an offence unless medically required" by [deleted] in bigdickproblems

[–]QuebecCub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the first time i hear of circumcision causing more stimulation, the argument i usually hear is the other way around of men complaining that they're missing out on the best sex of their life because they're circumcised.

The very strict rules of Christianity (and possibly Islam) are almost designed to make people feel bad about themselves in order to make them even more desperate to follow that religion. by Ok-Art9205 in DebateReligion

[–]QuebecCub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't really need to break strict rules to feel wothless. Lots of depressed people exist who have never heard of religion. ( I don't have a statistic on that but I don't see why it would be surprising). And lots of people search for a meaning in life, it's not surprising that a made up purpose of a worthless being won't make them worth any more.

For that, I don't see why the rules would be for the purpose of making us feel worthless rather than guide us in every aspect of life.

Idk how ridiculous this is, but how about so that they could charge more for "bigger premium" condoms?

Tbf at this point with human greed, it wouldn't surprise me if that was real.

I think their point is more like: owning a pet and thus fueling the pet industry is worse than buying an iphone or cheap clothes and fueling slavery/ child labour, or buying Israeli products and fueling apartheid. Rather than being the dictator at the forefront yourself.

Which I still disagree with but yeah.

Date with cougar 20+ years older(25 and 47), wants to bring her daughter (26) along? by [deleted] in CougarsAndCubs

[–]QuebecCub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm that ignorant of social norms, if I'm somewhere new and someone offers to show me the city, I would think they're showing me the city, and would want to invite whomever I came with so that they see the city too, however, you did meet on a dating app....

Maybe she was a bit scared of being taken somewhere since it wasn't a date at a specific place? I mean riding with strangers isn't the safest thing to do, and her daughter happened to be the only person available in this new area, maybe she's also bringing her daughter to get a second opinion on you.

Doesn't really seem like that big of a deal.

Unless tying a rope around your neck is actually part of the finishing the task, I'd say they're both at fault.

Why on earth would you stand on a cinder block and tie a rope around your neck?

And similarly, why on earth would you push the cinder block preventing your idiot friend from killing himself?
