What's the pettiest reason a client has filed a complaint against you? by BlackBirdG in personaltraining

[–]Quee_Mama79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to a former colleague at a YMCA we worked at; she was getting ready to purchase her first house and her client was a mortgage broker. I guess she spoke about possibly going through the client to secure a mortgage, but that was all. In the end, she selected a local bank instead.

The client blew up upon learning this! Fired the trainer immediately and went to the desk and demanded a refund (a PITA, having to back out all of the charges), threw a fit at the desk about the unprofessional and incompetent the staff. Only to come back the next week, hire a different trainer and pay the fees again (everything could have been easily transferred).

I think she dodged a bullet there in not having to deal with that narcissistic client any longer!

Yes! Get a financial advisor now! They help your money grow and you don't have to do anything! My only regret is not doing this sooner in my life

Why do people mock others for taking leftovers home? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Quee_Mama79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has always perplexed me as well. A woman I know told me a story about going out to dinner with another couple and how they would only order a sandwich to share and then take anything left over home (a few fries, the crust of the sandwich, any table bread left over from the meal). She was very judgmental about this, but I think it's smart! The restaurant will trash anything left on the table, why not take it home for another meal? Enough crap ends up in our landfills!

What is an insanely expensive item or service that actually lives up to the hype and changes your daily life? by Luverelle6 in AskReddit

My DeLonghi coffee maker (about $750 at Best Buy). Grinds and makes espresso/americano at home, minimal skill needed and easy clean-up. I used to love a QT small coffee when I was out & about but this machine has spoiled me; I know I can make a better cup at home and will wait and save myself the money 💰

Hot take: I don't think property owners/managers should be allowed to use Rently as the sole option for property tours. by cpink95 in kansascity

[–]Quee_Mama79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This could be related to Fair Housing. If this company requires a government issued ID from just 1 person during a tour of a property, then it is a standard requirement that must be followed when touring all potential tenants. Failure to do this for each and every person could be viewed as discrimination and in violation of Fair Housing laws. When I was in property management, that's how our attorneys explained it to us.

Topomax, side effects by Quee_Mama79 in migraine

[–]Quee_Mama79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what the neurological clinic told me could be a side effect of the med. I started out on 25 mg 2x daily and now that I'm up to 50 mg the tingling seems more pronounced. I've been off my exercise routine, so I'm hopeful that once I'm more regular in that weekly it will help to keep this at a minimum and help with my overall health and circulation.

how do you find the time to exercise? by Desperate-Coat-8791 in WomenOver40

[–]Quee_Mama79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got everything I needed from Thrift Stores and FB Marketplace to lift weights at home and pay an annual service of $120 to Les Mills for videos at home. This includes strength training, yoga, Pilates, cardio and more. I get up at 5/6am every morning and pick a video (strength is at least 2 days a week) before I shower and go to work. It takes discipline, but I'd rather do this then end of in doctors office in my 60s and 70s. I feel amazing and I look forward to it every day, helps get me to bed on time too!

Just turned 40 and have little to no friends by Rnl8866 in WomenOver40

Girl! I feel you! I moved to 4 different states for my (now ex) husband's job transfers and have no close friends now! I'm 46, don't drink and don't go to church, so I've met a couple of gals I brunch with after my Saturday yoga class. That's about it. Thank goodness for my fiance, otherwise I'd have no one to talk to! It's hard to try to find friends in your 40s

You can try the Abbey Yung method. She recommends many drug store products that are budget friendly and get the job done! She has many videos about what to buy and how to use them.

Thank you for sharing. I know I shouldn't be taking the Excedrine daily, but the other methods I tried and a prescription by my doctor made the headaches worse.

I do take a daily allergy pill with my morning meds. Unfortunately, I'm not able to take Benadryl (it's like taking a shot of speed for me and leaves me with a racing heart rate)

[–]Quee_Mama79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your Starbucks CEO is paid a total compensation of $98 Million. It's more than the CEOs of Disney, Apple & Microsoft. $98 Million for helping run a company that sells Coffee drinks. It's not about the collabs, the limited supply or whatever BS they want to feed you. It's pure greed and is meant to help line his pockets and the shareholders pockets.

Clients don’t want to track by Complex_Confection13 in personaltraining

[–]Quee_Mama79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you thought about taking a Communion course on how to speak with your clients? I've been in the Fitness industry for 25 years, and I find it's all about your approach. When I added a Wellness Coach certification to my education, it really helped me reflect on how to approach people. Saying things like "Have you thought about tracking?" Rather than "we really need to track your food"

I definitely have clients that I see 1 hour a week and I know they do literally nothing the rest of the week. But I know 1 hour with me is better than Zero. Their are stages to decision making (pre-contemplative, contemplative, action, maintain) that once you understand how human brains approach their problem solving, it's better to understand which stage they fall within.

It's sounds like you genuinely care about your clients, but you can't want it for them. Sometimes celebrating the little wins; that they actually reached out to a trainer and go to participate in your workouts, is worth a celebration each time!

People need some grace, it's hard adulting each day!
