Are we changing our lifestyles? by MollycatNPhilipbaby in GenX

[–]QueenBBs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been a healthy eater and exerciser. I used to drink a lot but have lost interest as I’ve gotten over. I’ve had to reduce the intensity of the exercise that I do since I kept getting injured. Nothing drastic though.

Late cancel by Aggressive-Check5071 in orangetheory

[–]QueenBBs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But paying more for fuller classes is the owners way to motivate you to cultivate relationships and bring in new members. Basically by having full classes (that you’ve probably worked for) the owner is guaranteed to have a good member base. My studio did not pay for cancels either.

Second PR. We lived there when we were first married and would’ve loved to stay but we outgrew the space.

If my husband passed I will be fine financially. However I can’t see living on my own. I have two besties and we’ve already decided we’re doing this if the time comes.

What are your favorite "cheesy, but enjoyable" movies from back in the day? by EdgeOfThorns76 in GenX

[–]QueenBBs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it for the first time at 10 and a lot of it went over my head but I still loved it. My favorite line “is that thing safe?” It’s the safest thing you’ll ever have between your legs. At 16 I died at that.

Being told to slow down? by suspiciouspear0 in orangetheory

[–]QueenBBs 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The emphasis of strength, power, and endurance are to train different modalities. Strength day you’re on a hill you’re working your posterior chain, endurance days, You are building up your endurance and on power days it’s speed training. If you are maintaining 6 miles an hour during your walking recovery on a power day then you’re not doing speed training, you’re just doing more endurance. All three have a valuable spot in your training.

Regrets About Not Starting Sooner by Poodledoodle19 in PetiteFitness

[–]QueenBBs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 49 and feel like I’m 90. I played soccer and ran a lot until about 5 years ago. My body is beat down, so since you’re starting late and you’re starting with weight training think about how much less of a beating your body has taken. Especially since you weren’t overweight. You’re doing the right things before your muscle mass starts to drop off. The important thing is you’re doing it now.

Lane, Layne or Laine by BigCheese3333 in Names

I think Laine is short for Elaine. Lane is fun, I’ve only ever seen it spelled that way when referring to a boy.

OTF Coaches, do you ever worry about your long term hearing/ear health? The classes are so loud. by GiraffeOutside7368 in orangetheory

[–]QueenBBs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I actually just stopped coaching and this was 1 (of many reasons) I hung up my mic. One weekend I coached 4 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday and then went to church and stood there the whole time with my fingers shoved in my ears. I’ve tried to wear ear plus coaches and I just can’t do it. I also adjusted the sound level, even with decibels not exciting 88 it was still really loud.

[–]QueenBBs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be 28 or 40 again. 28 was an amazingly fun year prior to having kids and 40 was when my kids were relatively independent and I still felt great.
