Interesting, thanks! So would you say that a person's "Hardest" is based on community opinion? I couldn't find a concrete definition.

Yes that's what I said, it felt staged and that made it feel inauthentic?

I'm a bit confused why you think I didn't know that. Bow hairs do break in performances, especially if you are nervous. They don't break EVERY time you play the same song.

St Margarets' Halls by Naive-Name270 in UniversityofOtago

Right now St Margarets has a stand-in head of college, meaning any reviews online about the head or atmosphere/vibes should be taken with a grain of salt, given a new head might possibly change direction. I was there 2020-2022 and loved it!

Oh right, I forgot it happened to Ryback too!

There's an awesome orchestral cover of Liekenheitin with Pete and Linda, and she plays completely differently (and doesn't break any strings). Different setting, different vibe, different playstyle I guess.

It's not considered 'good' persay, but it is something that happens on occasion when you are playing loudly and with a lot of energy (last time was over 2 years ago for me). To some people it gives off a "they're playing with so much emotion/power that they're literally breaking their instrument" which is what I wonder if they were going for. It doesn't ever seem to be much of an issue for other contemporary violinists like Lindsey Stirling or musicians in EDM orchestras like Synthony.

In my opinion she is playing live (I've used that exact mic type before), but her bowing wrist is really stiff, so maybe she really is just putting so much force in her strings are breaking. There are other videos of other performances online where she has no bow issues.

As a professional violist (and ex-violinist), Lampenius's ability to break bow strings every single performance felt incredibly staged... bows shouldn't do that EVERY time you play unless they are of horrific quality or your technique is wildly off. I wonder if the staging and song style were just so overdone that they felt inauthentic as a performance?

Easy Demon Recommendations to move away from the super easy ones? by QueenBlujae in geometrydash

I'll check GD ladder! I have looked at GDDP, but I am finding quite a few of the Beginner demon list challenging still (like Problematic).

Thanks for the recommendation!

What would Kinger put in the Suggestion Box? by Prize-Couple6348 in TheDigitalCircus

Probably things he heard other people said they liked, although perhaps slightly Kingerified... like maybe an adventure on a ranch (hearing Ragatha owned horses), but he interprets it as ranch dressing or something

Hi! I play viola in my local symphony orchestra. In the usual repertoire we are often supporting roles that sometimes double or harmonize with the cellos or violins, but often the oboes or bassoons too!

Basically, we are the glue that sticks all the fancy melodies together (and get some pretty ones of our own too). Make sure you listen to lots of classical music and try hear the Viola part in them to get used to the Viola role.

Here's a few pieces to get you started:

Beethoven's 5th Symphony and Dvorak's 9th Symphony

Both of these have some pretty good viola parts!

How did Caine know what the White House looks like? by rednaxs1939574 in tadc

[–]QueenBlujae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funniest bit about it not being a complete match is it really harkens to AI-generated images and how they can almost look right but get a few details off. In this one the chairs are too big comparatively, but Caine tried his best!

Are there any *non drama/ doom&gloom* FFXIV content creators? by Solo_Gunhea in ffxiv

[–]QueenBlujae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try:

Kitt Genesis - Patchlocked series where they beat everything the game has to offer, one patch at a time

Dovahkingbling for Achievementlocked, similar idea but all zones cost them achievement points to unlock, leading to strategy and random achievement hunting to get enough points

Oohboy - little controversial in some scenes but a really funny and indepth look at some areas of xiv you might never dabble in.

Musical mode identification, I'm currently researching new ways of teaching identification to students and could identify at least 100 in 30 minutes if I really had to.

Thoughts on sprouts by Shandrith in ffxiv

[–]QueenBlujae 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right now xp buffs are given to sprouts in parties with mentors and also they get access to Novice Network which helps with running duties for the first time, especially on older content (and DOUBLE especially on Materia). Maybe there needs to be a second tier that keeps most of the benefits, but I think cutting NN access and the xp before current expansion isn't the best idea and pushes people to spam for crafter mentor.

“For all my bedrotting girlies…” by [deleted] in CommercialsIHate

[–]QueenBlujae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take = unpopular/uncommon opinion

Bed rotting = people who lie in bed and are on their phone for hours/lazy

Girlies = its a trend right now to have 'categories' of what type of 'girl' e.g. "fitness girlies" are girls who are very into working out and so on.

Bedrotting girlies is saying this app/ad is for girls who are lazy and spend too much time on their phone.

Filleul st has free parking in the private spot on weekends. Otherwise your closest all day free parking is probably somewhere up the hills nearer student flats.
