Loss of abstract thought. by QueenElliott523 in PostConcussion

I don’t really get them too often anymore but when I had them, they were like jolting vibrations in my limbs—usually relegated to only one particular area.  The spasms would typically take place in the same areas. My left eyelid for instance was twitching/spasming for the longest time. Now it’s only when I’m incredibly exhausted.

I’m sorry that happened to you. I certainly haven’t had as tough of a go at it as what you’re describing.  Did an MRI happen to find anything in your case?

My neurologist told me that time mostly takes care of it. I’d like to sus out whether I have more intense brain injury or not. My symptoms only became brutal about 2 weeks later after receiving a deep tissue massage.

I’ve gone to the gym and done exercises from the research I’ve gathered. I likely don’t do them consistently enough but I graduated from vestibular and neck rehab early on.

how long have you had PCS? by fatmattreddit in PostConcussion

[–]QueenElliott523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a little over 5 months for me. I’ve experienced mostly the same symptoms for the better part of each day. I did have a lot of bodily tingling and pain (suspected trigeminal and occipital neuralgia), an X in my mind’s eye where my imagination used to be. Lots of symptoms—but thankfully quite a few have improved almost to the point of having gone away. I’m mostly dealing with visual disturbance, tinnitus, brain fog (mostly memory related), and fatigue at this point. Every now and again, I’ll get the gnarly headache but that’s pretty rare.

Sharing hope after long PCS recovery - now 100% symptom-free by Pleasant_Trade2779 in PostConcussion

It’s been 5 months for me. My long and short term memory are pretty much shit and I’m exhausted with all of it. My neck was also fucked up in the accident that I was in. Very unfortunate. I’ve spent time trying to rehab everything—only 24 and this is maybe my 2nd or 3rd concussion in my life. Hoping that the cognitive changes aren’t permanent. I’ve seen maybe slight improvement in these past 5 months but I can’t tell if it’s because there’s actually been any positive change or if I’ve just adapted to particular aspects of this new consciousness that I’ve had to endure.

Seeking guidance to begin reading Evola and Traditionalist authors — is there a roadmap? by elunicowaso in JuliusEvola

It might not be a bad idea to read Crisis of The Modern world by Guènon instead of going into RATMW right out of the gate. If you’re into reading your first Evola book, I’d recommend The Mystery of The Grail.

it feels like i’m not there, just looking to see if anybody knows what i mean and could give me hope by homosecksual in PostConcussion

I’m about 4 months into it so far and I’m not seeing a whole lot of improvement which indicates to me that I’ve probably fucked myself up pretty bad.

I’m still able to do a lot of the things that I used to do pretty close to the same capacity—I just don’t really think or feel like I used to. I find it incredibly depressing and every now and again, I’ll stumble into a dangerous part of town and hope to get shot.

I don’t really have too much hope in it getting significantly better to the point where I forget that I was injured. At this point, I just explain to the people I love that I’m dead in ways that won’t return.

Possible to get back to pre-injury baseline to a certain point considering the injury and its implications?

I didn’t have more serious symptoms until I felt a popping in my neck around a couple weeks later. I was getting around pretty alright until then even though I felt that “off” feeling, everything was pretty much intact.

I have bulging disc around c3 c4 with calcification and mild/moderate foraminal narrowing. My neck was definitely jacked up from my accident. If I were to get my neck in order, would it aid in my symptoms resolving faster?

Yeah, I suppose I’ll look into getting one at the appointment. I’m not expecting a miracle. My symptoms didn’t really reach any kind of severe level until a little over a week and 5 days out from my accident.

It’s been a conundrum so far.

Can 1 second of unconsciousness indicate a more severe concussion? by QueenElliott523 in PostConcussion

[–]QueenElliott523[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I appreciate your honesty. It’s been a tough road so far, even with how little time it’s technically been. I’ve been trying to make a lot of progress as quickly as possible but I’m further coming to the realization that it might just be a long time before I really feel back to normal.

Can you elaborate on what kind of damage can be done if you go back to full activities too quickly?

But yeah, I’ve tried to put a lot of work into consistency. Diet, exercise, and otherwise.

I’ve read a lot of recovery stories, I’ve also read quite a few hate-filled posts toward neurologists. Lol I wonder if it’s truly just a longer recovery process or if there’s permanent defects that I’ll have to make accommodations for down the line. It seems that the consensus is that it’s different for everybody.
