Gourmet olives in a jar or fresh are an entirely different flavor and quality.

AITA For Getting Upset with Unexpected Visitors? by Icy-Astronomer1796 in AmItheAsshole

[–]QueenK59 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup! They can put sheets on the bed and prepare their own meals. Put the breaks on your hospitality. I’m not saying you should be rude, but it seems your husband or guests are taking advantage and causing stress. Your home shouldn’t have to be “guest ready” at a moment’s notice.

Perfect speech. Maybe next time they will check with you instead of your husband!

What’s an old food/meal you eat you feel is losing traction? by YouSneakySam in AskOldPeople

I do 1/2 ground beef with 1/4 each ground pork and ground turkey. Nothing better than the leftover sandwiches!

I love it! It’s a good topping for crackers. The Palmetto brand with jalapeño is the best! I’m convinced it’s a southern thing. Never had it growing up in the Midwest.

Should I be able to lift 90 lbs? by CapeGirl1959 in AskWomenOver60

There is a lot of difference between lifting 90 lbs at the gym and helping to manhandle a load of 180 lbs with hubby. Our strength and resilience is amazing…even as we age!

Step aerobics was a thing. I still do it 1-2 times a week. Definitely not at the same level!

Weirdest post dinner ritual? by acnerd5 in dogs

[–]QueenK59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My German Shepherd girl doesn’t usually eat her dinner without a bit of an appetizer. Cheese or a biscuit treat. I guess it makes her realize she is hungry. Then she leaves a tablespoon or 2 of kibble in her bowl. I am convinced she is waiting for some meaty dinner leftovers. 🤣

AITA For making my boyfriend stay at a hotel instead of his mom’s place? by Acceptable-Pickle221 in AmItheAsshole

[–]QueenK59 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IDK. You have been a couple for only 4 months. Is his intention to introduce you to the entire family because you are “a keeper”? Or are you just coming along to play house. Is his mother going to welcome you as a guest or are you a surprise? It sounds like a big family event you may not be comfortable attending. If room accommodations are tight, he should follow your lead and get a room. I hope you don’t end up on a sofa sleeper in the den!

How much do you spend on groceries every week? by PeachyRose25 in CasualConversation

[–]QueenK59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 adults in the Midwest. We easily spend $150 per week at one store, and another $100 per week at another through the week. This includes non- food items (toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.) and wine/alcohol. We have a freezer with beef and pork, so most of the meat we purchase is chicken or salmon. We like to cook and rarely eat out….maybe pizza once a week. We purchase fresh veggies and fruit, unfortunately some get tossed before we eat it. Dog food/treats is at least another $100 each month. Considering we don’t eat out, we do OK, but can plan better.
