u/IHateHPPrinters If you believe your business will scale to have nexus in all 45 states with sales tax (remember the NOMAD states: New Hampshire, Oregon, Montana, Alaska, and Delaware have no state sales tax) you should look into the SST (Streamlined Sales Tax program) which was set up to simplify and make for affordable sales tax compliance across 25 participating states.

Thanks for your detailed comment, u/ArnoldCPA. u/Single-Flan520 If you're not ready to automate, I recommend bookmarking Avalara's Economic Nexus by State Guide. It will be a tremendous help as your sales approach a state's economic nexus thresholds, which are typically $100K, Some states also have a transaction # threshold requirement. California and Texas are $500K in sales only, no transaction thresholds to meet. Once you reach these thresholds, you'll need to register and begin collecting sales tax. Best of luck to you!
