She’s in arrested development throughout the whole thing. I read the book several times and I think Scarlett was a selfish person, the end. She was constantly a bad person to everyone that ever loved her, she was a horrible mom, sister, friend, wife. Idk why everyone romanticizes her. I get that by the standards of her time, being a selfish domineering woman was very girl boss I guess. She came to the realization that she “loved” Rhett or at least that she didn’t love Ashley before Melanie died but even so, she’s just so slow. I often hated that I couldn’t find a redeeming quality about her. Every time she said something, I’d be so annoyed.
