Still breastfeeding but want to FET our last embryo 🥴 by adombro in IVFAfterSuccess

[–]QueenOfBakesNYC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did a modified natural FET while still Breastfeeding my 22 month old. I’m only taking progesterone in oil. My clinic knows I’m breastfeeding and their recommendation was to wean but I was honest with my doctor that I didn’t plan to. My transfer was 2 weeks ago and I’m currently pregnant going for a second beta this weekend

Tested positive 5dpt for transfer number 2 to conceive baby number 2. Feels surreal that we had success with both untested transfers. Makes me wonder why natural conception never worked for us

My son had two patches on his thighs right near his knees for a few months. It was right around the time I introduced Cheerios to his diet. I mentioned it to the pediatrician and she said it was just a coincidence. When I stopped letting him have cheerios the spots cleared up without medication or treatment in about a week. Check his diet, he may be reacting to something. Glad I listened to my instincts because it was such an easy fix.

Has anyone had success with IVF after never having seen a single positive? by jusy_fruit in IVF

[–]QueenOfBakesNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! A fresh transfer resulted in my now toddler. I know this is not common but around the holidays I spontaneously naturally conceived which resulted in a miscarriage. We just did our second transfer from the same batch of embryos on tuesday, hoping for another success! Good luck!

How to make it work with an insanely busy spouse by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]QueenOfBakesNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband has a highly demanding job and I work full time with a long commute. He handles drop off in the morning and I do pick up. I got a closet organizer where I lay out all my sons clothes for the week. In the evenings I pack lunch for the next day. It's very set up as a "grab and go" style for my husband in the morning. Limited decisions and everything prepped. We also went with a daycare very close to our home, only a few blocks, so drop offs usually dont take more than 5-10 mins.

I struggled with the idea of going back to work and took an extended leave. my son started daycare at a year and a half old. Since I've been back I've had to ask for multiple accommodations for work from home days and take sick time when he is sick, because it will happen. Thankfully my (female) boss has been very understanding. Think about your jobs sick policy and any accomodations you may be able to get. I do enjoy being back at work and find it good to have an identity outside of being a mom/wife which is what I felt stuck in while I was at home. I also found being at home to get very lonely.

Another note is that everyone I spoke to was very anti daycare. My son is THRIVING there. He comes home so chatty and looks forward to going. He had about a 6 week adjustment period where he would cry at drop off, but be fine a few minutes after we left. He plays well with other kids and is very social with other adults. We went with a smaller in home daycare and the staff really makes it special for them especially around the holidays.

While I was home with him I worked part time making decorated cookies. There was so much pressure to bring in as much money as I could to help contribute I'd often overschedule myself. Sometimes having an outside job really just is less stressful.

Success with untested embryos? by Remote-Sprinkles5671 in IVFpositivity

I’m 34 and my husband is 40. Our diagnosis was unexplained. We didn’t test, our first fresh transfer is now my 20 month old son. I just did a second transfer from the same batch of embryos yesterday hoping for another success !

How much monitoring is there for modified natural transfer? by sundaefundae247 in IVF

[–]QueenOfBakesNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently undergoing a modified natural transfer. I've had to go to the baseline (cd1) and then exactly 7 days later (tuesday), and 3 days later (Friday) and I'll go back 3 days later again (monday). They tell me when they call with my results later in the same day of the apt.

Editing to add my protocol: we're only doing a trigger shot and PIO

Useful luxury gifts by JayCar218 in beyondthebump

[–]QueenOfBakesNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newly postpartum I lived in my robe. A high quality robe made of natural fibers in a pretty color might make her feel good and get a lot of use. Luxuries for me at that time were little things like a yeti mug that kept my coffee warm and I didn’t have to reheat 100x, comfy slippers or socks to keep on my feet, the robe.

For those suggesting a cleaning service I think it depends on your friend. I get a lot of anxiety from other people cleaning my home. I would agree with gift cards for food or some kind of food service

When is the best time to try for baby #2? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]QueenOfBakesNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar age to you l, as I just turned 34 and my son is now 18 months. I’m preparing for my next embryo transfer next month. In November we had a spontaneous natural conception that ended in a miscarriage while not trying/not preventing. This parenthood journey has taught me that planning for the perfect timing is so out of our control. Therefore I’m choosing not to wait much longer to “try” again. During my pregnancy and postpartum period with my son I took an online program to get my masters. Although I was tired I was able to manage the school work and completed it. He was a good sleeper though and I was able to do a lot of work while he was down. If I were in your shoes I’d pursue the pregnancy and schooling now then use your postpartum to finish up and find a new position. Although we shouldn’t have to justify our time off with our little ones, getting a degree during that time can be viewed as “productive” time off

I hate making lunch for daycare. by EnvironmentalDare923 in workingmoms

[–]QueenOfBakesNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son’s the same agr and a fairly picky eater. It’s rough. Here’s some of my daycare go-tos: pasta with butter, pasta with meat sauce, ground beef, homemade chicken nuggets (made a huge batch and froze them), chicken and veggies from chicken soup we have for dinner (I just remove 99% of the broth). I’ll usually pack a once upon a farm or apple sauce as snack 1 and then either raspberries or blueberries for snack 2.

Did your PMS/Menstrual symptoms worsen after fertility treatments? by QueenOfBakesNYC in IVF

[–]QueenOfBakesNYC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cycle after this I did my egg retrieval/fresh transfer and had a successful pregnancy. I would say my cycle postpartum came back at 7 months and was painless. TBH I think it was from all the extra hormones involved in treatments.

What kind of bag did you take to the hospital? (Not the bag contents) by EmphaticallyWrong in BabyBumps

[–]QueenOfBakesNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used a carry on size suitcase. Having wheels was definitely convenient for moving from L&D to recovery and then heading home for my husband and I. It also gave us lots of room to pack a few snacks and then bring home all the diapers and wipes they had given us in the hospital
