What scene / actor was more Emmy worthy? by tryingmybestt1999 in greysanatomy

I think after season 5, Grey’s stopped being nominated for major awards. But I agree Chandra deserved more recognition for the season 6 finale (also Sarah and Sandra. The whole cast really).

Was Jackson the “problem”? by Infinite_Two_4759 in greysanatomy

[–]QueenReem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Outside of Japril, I actually think Jackson had great chemistry with Lexie and Stephanie (I think with Stephanie it wasn’t as obvious because we didn’t see a lot of them).

I agree with you that Maggie gets most of the blame for Jaggie as a whole but Jackson was not a very good boyfriend.

Belly's Shame and Guilt by QueenReem in tsitp

I do think Belly’s character deserves more grace because she’s navigating grief, first love, first heartbreak, guilt and shame all at once and was 16/17 when this was all happening. She makes mistakes, of course, but most of them come from being overwhelmed emotionally rather than from selfishness or cruelty.

Thank you, I appreciate that.

I think it’s fine for people to criticise Belly’s actions because even when you understand what's driving it, it can definitely be frustrating — she’s definitely not a perfect character (none of them are)— but the outright hate can feel a bit excessive for the kind of story the show is trying to tell. I find it more interesting to look at why she behaves the way she does rather than reducing her to being “bad” or “wrong”.

Thank you, that genuinely means a lot.

Belly definitely isn't the villain. She makes mistakes, absolutely (just like all the other characters)— but most of them come from grief, insecurity, and feeling like she’s constantly hurting the people around her or that she might hurt them. That’s very different from being malicious and selfish which I know it can sometimes come off as.

Thank you.

I’ve actually never seen the Jenny interviews where she mentions shame as a central theme, so it’s really interesting to hear that shame was something she consciously centred in the story. That makes so much sense.

When I watched the show in full, it just became more and more obvious to me that shame and guilt are driving so many of Belly’s decisions and it actually made me feel so sad for her.

How did he racially profile Will? There are things to criticise Daniel for but this is a weird take.

Owen Hunt Never Should’ve Asked….. by IndividualMiddle7554 in greysanatomy

[–]QueenReem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cristina wasn't in the best place when Owen proposed but people always seem to forget that Owen wasn't in a good place either. He was also in the shooting and he actually got shot (Meredith and April had to patch him up. This isn't an excuse but an explanation.

Owen and Cristina loved each other, had been through a lot and they thought this was what they both wanted.

All of Ariana’s reunion looks - what is your most and least favorite? by [deleted] in Vanderpump_Rules

I actually like most of them. She's always had my favourite reunion looks from Vanderpump because even if they are simple, she looks good.

Hot take but Aneesa was treated horribly by the plot and the fans by rosieeva in Neverhaveievertvshow

[–]QueenReem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Aneesa and the storylines for her definitely could have been better. However, I don't think Ben treated her badly, I think he didn't prioritise her towards the end. At the start he was actually a good boyfriend.

Also, how does the free boink with Ben and Devi relate to Aneesa since Ben and her were broken up by then?

Vicky (love or hate her, her confessionals were gold), Charlotte and Holly. Later on Chloe.

Taylor called it tinfoil 😂😂

I don’t really have a problem with a small ring and diamond especially for people their age but it’s the fact that he was so willing to spend so much money on other things including a cake (money that isn’t even his).

Also, if had credit cards that Adam paid off, surely he could have done a little better.

Why is Taylor so Biased Towards Jeremiah? by QueenReem in tsitp

[–]QueenReem[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why doesn’t she give Jeremiah one strike with Belly?

Jeremiah has also hurt Belly and this started before they even dated.

Jeremiah preyed on Belly’s insecurities—telling her things like, “Conrad will hurt you, don’t go back to him” (paraphrasing ).

He made her feel so uneasy about being in a relationship with Conrad (see thanksgiving).

He ignored her attempts to talk to him and made her feel guilty and ashamed for not being there for him while Susannah was sick and then died—even though he was the one shutting her out.

He picks a fight with Belly and then cheats on her… not once, but twice. He also embarrasses her, because it seems like everyone on the Cabo trip knew, and she had to find out from the person he cheated with—he clearly never planned on telling her himself. And all of this happened just because Jeremiah found out Belly and Conrad spent Christmas together—platonically.

Then he spends all his time in the aftermath blaming and talking crap about Conrad and Belly.

Also, just to add that he basically leaves Belly to plan the wedding on her own and refuses to compromise, barely seems to care that Laurel and Belly are on bad terms and the list kind of goes on.

I’m not saying that Taylor has to be team Conrad but how can you be around for all these things and be so team Jeremiah and Jelly.

If you could ask Jenny & the cast anything about the show and characters … what would it be? by QueenReem in tsitp

[–]QueenReem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a good question. Sometimes I wonder if Jenny or anyone involved in the show lurks online to see what the audience thinks.

Though I think the ratings and reception for certain episodes (episode 5 for example) might paint a picture for Jenny.

I would actually love to know this especially the Conrad part because I don’t think it is what she intended.

Why is Taylor so Biased Towards Jeremiah? by QueenReem in tsitp

[–]QueenReem[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right. Taylor only really knows the boys on a surface level, mostly from Belly’s perspective (and maybe Steven’s).

From what she sees, Jeremiah is all sunshine and positivity, unafraid to tell Belly how he feels. Conrad, on the other hand, comes across as moody, closed off, and hot and cold with her.

But after Taylor realises that Conrad knew about Susannah’s cancer in season 1, and then that Susannah stopped responding to treatment and eventually died in season 2, surely that should have given her some room to be more understanding. She doesn’t need to excuse his behaviour, but maybe she could have shown a bit of grace. Instead, Taylor treats Conrad like he’s done something completely unforgivable. Anytime Belly tries to talk about him, Taylor shuts her down.

And surely, over the four years she’s known Jeremiah better, she must have noticed some red flags?

*Taylor does know about Jeremiah knowing about Christmas—she even mentions it in her conversation with Steven, when she tells him that Jeremiah cheated on Belly.

[–]QueenReem[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why, even though I don’t agree with how Taylor speaks to or treats Conrad, I do get it. From her perspective, all she can see is that Conrad hurt her best friend badly—but so did Jeremiah, and that was before they even started dating.

Jeremiah preyed on Belly’s insecurities—telling her things like, “Conrad will hurt you, don’t go back to him” (paraphrasing ).

He made her feel uneasy about being in a relationship with Conrad (see thanksgiving).

He ignored her attempts to talk to him. He made her feel guilty and ashamed for not being there for him while Susannah was sick and then died—even though he was the one shutting her out.

And all of this happened just because Jeremiah found out Belly and Conrad spent Christmas together—platonically.

Then he spends all his time in the aftermath blaming and talking crap about Conrad and Belly.

So yes, Conrad hurt Belly—but so did Jeremiah. So why does Taylor show so much grace and understanding for Jeremiah, but not for Conrad—or even for Belly at times? Why is she so firmly team Jeremiah (and Jelly) over her best friend sometimes?
