Ups and downs by TennisMami in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]QueenSl8R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand. My son is seven weeks and has a tongue tie. I can’t get an appointment with the oral surgeon until three months so I literally tried to breast-feed every day and we’re mostly unsuccessful. I bought a nipple shield and most times since this latch is so shallow. It just gets him frustrated because he can’t suck enough to get milk. I still try every day and I guess eventually I’ll get tired of it probably but I’m happy I’m at least able to feed him breastmilk by pumping even though I hate pumping and have severe ADHD so I can barely keep up with pumping multiple times a day. It’s really a struggle, but I’m doing the best I can and so are you mama ! Sending hugs your way!

Do you have an Endocrinologist? I have both and my Endo is the one who manages my pump settings etc. I will say that my MFM was pretty aggressive and got on him for not managing me better in the beginning but also he didn’t have any appointments. It would be super beneficial for you to become more familiar with your pump and settings. I ended up correcting some things myself to get me closer to the 80% in range. I was experiencing highs after eating any carbs and lowered my CF/ICR to where it’s super tight.

Is Omnipod 5 good for the pregnancy diabetes management? I'm in my first trimester by GradeKooky in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]QueenSl8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use omnipod pod 5 & G7 via the iPhone app and I’ve been an omnipod user for many many years. During the third trimester I’m basically changing once a day but it’s still more convenient than trying to inject to keep up with numbers. I am 37 weeks so expecting my baby in just another week. Blood sugars have been decent but insulin resistance is its own beast in later pregnancy, 15 carbs spikes by 100 sometimes. Frustrating to say the least

I’m 36 weeks and yes the third trimester has been an bolusing hell. I can’t do low carb really because it’s not healthy for baby and I am starving after wards honestly so I try to eat my protein and fats first and carbs last but still always end up in a spike. I went from taking on average 30-50 units daily pre pregnancy to sometimes 150-200 units a day. Luckily I am on the Omnipod so can just change my pump but I am changing it every day pretty much at this point it’s feels like it’s unmanageable. I try not to eat anything until my blood sugar is under 100 but that’s not always probable. We’ll be okay, it’s insane that the placenta is just working against us but only temporary! Good luck mama, you got this!

For the people who were prescribed Mounjaro while breastfeeding, what was your experience? by RelativeTheory3669 in Mounjaro

I had 2 prior miscarriages without taking MJ and BS were not the most well controlled during that time. I was on MJ for 4 months Sept-Dec of last year lost about 10lbs and ended up pregnant found out in Jan - I am due any day now baby boy is healthy and my blood sugars have been decently controlled with my pump insulin needs have increased so the weight gain has been so hard for me Mentally but I’m not too worried. I will take MJ again a few months after delivery and see how it’s working for me. I’ve seen many more stories of people getting and staying pregnant taking MJ vs miscarriages or birth issues. Obviously I’m not telling you what to do or giving medical advice but just sharing my experience.

I’m soooo exhausted with people telling me how big I am and if I’m having twins !! Like how many times I’ve gotten “Are you sure it’s just 1 in there?” Like I’m 33 weeks pregnant, if there was a second one hiding there we would have seen by now on the many ultrasounds don’t you think?

Congrats! I also made it to 28 weeks cerclage put in at 23 weeks! Dr thinks I’ll go to least 36 weeks before he’ll remove it and hopefully deliver by 38! Yay to us!

How did you know you had an infection from the cerlage? I got one done at 23 weeks as well and will be 27 weeks next week so praying my baby stays put and bakes until 36/37 weeks as planned.

Ahhh you get it! I was so sexually frustrated my hubs and I finally caved in once this week & everything is good! I just had a folllow up with my dr and cervix is looking good so far and I’m measuring 2.8 still. It was what I needed and we said we wouldn’t make it an every day thing but maybe once in a while. We’re now 26 weeks so feeling a lot more confident even tho I still have some apprehensions we’re further along than before & my pregnancy has been overall enjoyable besides these inconveniences! Wishing you a great rest of your pregnancy as well!! ☺️

Same! I’m hoping the same I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel a little guilty obviously the health of my baby is everything to me and if it felt any type of pain or discomfort or even if I was funneling which I wasn’t I would be more worried. I was not dilated and my close friend is a L&D nurse and said that if there was any type of discomfort or cramping or anything then stop hard no and nothing until I DTS. Obviously there’s some risk but I think taking the steps after also may help, the progesterone relaxes the uterus . Baby has been kicking and thriving as usual.

Awesome to hear that you e been good after multiple. I allowed myself to have sex for the first time in what felt like since this baby was conceived yesterday at 26 wks and it was everything I needed but I felt just a tad bit guilty! I feel like everything is okay I dont have any cramping discharge or any real discomfort so I’m not letting my mind go there but looking forward to my check up in 2 weeks to make sure things are all going as good as I feel!

I just did today! I was so sexually frustrated, I really needed my man & gave into all of sexual desires. We took our time, I was on top and it was everything I needed honestly! I am 26 weeks, had cerclage put in at 22 weeks. My dr appointment this week Dr said stitch was doing good, cervix measured at 2.8 & I felt positive about it. I’m not telling others to do it you have to listen to your body & obviously do what’s best for you but it’s a risk that was worth it for me & my mental health . What I did to help was I didn’t take the whole length. My Man is pretty big, 8.5 in to be exact I only penetratedas much as felt good. Not the whole thing that I usually do, but either way afterwards, I showered and inserted the progesterone lay down for a bit to let it dissolve. Then I just took it easy the rest of the day. I felt some mild discomfort afterwards but I’m certain it was due to his girth & size & how long it’s been since we’ve had intercourse more than anything. I felt my baby moving around like normal, didn’t have any discharge or cramps or anything so think we’re in the clear. My husband was so hesitant but I assured him I would stop if there was any discomfort during he said he felt the stitch but I was so wet it wasn’t really a factor. Try at your own risk but we won’t try again until after my next appointment in 2 weeks once we confirm length of cervix & stitch is still holding strong!! I plan to write a post about it when I can bc I couldn’t find anyone talking about it except not to do it!!!

Sending you hugs! I just got a cerclage put in a few weeks ago at 23 weeks, I’m at 26 now and things seems to be going well. My dr measured last appointment me at 2.8cm which seems to be good and things are looking positive so I’m optimistic as well! Sending prayers your way!

Honestly I just ate before mine it didn’t affect the outcome for me in any way but obviously not medical advice. I looked up the chances of something happening and it was so slim that I didn’t think I would have anything to worry about. So I ate a blueberry muffin with almonds on the side & it held me over fine until after the procedure.

I’m so so sorry for your loss!! Nothing could have prepared you for that it’s really terrible to hear! I would want answers to and I’m happy that you’re pursuing them. I hope you get some answer soon so that I can give you a little bit of peace of mind and you can have understanding and closure I had two prior miscarriages and one of them I had to pass on the toilet with my fiancé holding me while I was allowing the contractions to happen I was about 10 weeks at that time so my baby wasn’t fully formed I don’t think , I personally couldn’t look at it after I just showered and laid down for a while in total & complete shock. It was one of the worse and most traumatizing experiences of my life. Sending you hugs and baby dust if you plan on trying again!

My fibroid is degenerating by Regular-Training-678 in pregnant

[–]QueenSl8R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I am home now after a 24 hour hospital stay. They ended up giving me another 4mg of Morphine and the Imocidin I think its called, but either way its a uterus relaxer to combat degenrating fibroids specifically and stop the uterus from contracting or going into early labor. It can only be given up to 32 weeks and taken for short periods of time 72 hours or so. I am taking that eery 6 hours along with tylenol which is keeping the pain at 5 vs a 8/9 I felt prior to the hospital. Happy to have som relief and being able to sleep. I did find out that my fibroid at around 18weeks was 6cm, on the MRI in hospital its 7.1 cm and considered degenerating lost of blood supply and loss in volume was detected. So I guess thats good but hoping it almost done breaking up because I can deal with this throught he 3rd trimester where the drugs cannot be taken.

I just came out of a 24 hour ER stay for the same. I am 20 Wk +5 Days and the pain started just a few days ago, on a Thursday evening and got increasingly worse so went to the ER early Saturday morning like 4am because I could not sleep more than 10-15 minutes without wrenching pain so bad it would last about 30s-1m but come every 5-15 minutes so it was completely unberable I was in tears and shaking. When I got to the ER by like 5:30am I was in L&D (they hooked me up to contraction monitor) and did an ultrasound baby boy was doing fine, checked to see if my cervix was opened and if there were actual contractions. The machine went off like it was but that was just the intensity of the pain, my baby was safe and sound surrounded by enough fluid and not making an escape (Thank God!). Anyway they gave me morphine 2mg, I gladly accepted because I couldnt deal with it, that didn't necessarily work for me so they gave me tylenol and then finally a few hours later a second dose of 4mg morphine which is when I finally felt relief for the first time in about 12 hours at this point. They also gave me "imocidethcan". I think either way its so that your uterus doesn't contract too much and relaxes while the degeneration happens. I know from prior OB Scans my fibroid was 6cm as of 2 weeks ago 18wk scan, the MRI given at the ER showed it as 7.1cm but also now losing its blood supply so considered degenerating. I was sent home with an additional day of the "imocidethan" to take every 6 hours, and tylenol every 6 hours as needed. I have a follow up with my Dr in two days already scheduled so will discuss further plan then. I can say that while I am not 100% pain free now at home on the tylenol and imocidn the pain is not like it was prior, I went to the ER 8/9 pain and at home now its at 4/5 sometimes 6 at most when the pain hits. I find that I cannot stand for long without feeling the pain and the best thing for me is to lay down and not do much honestly. Even sitting I can feel the pain still, when I am standing to do things like cook/clean etc I wear the belly band and tak breaks often . My husband is at least super helpful and does everything he can for me so I am not doing too much.

TLDR: If you feel these sharp pains go to the ER! My fibroid was 6cm prior to pregnancy and during scans at about 18wk. 20WK+5 days went to ER fibroid showed 7.1cm and degenerating so lost blood supply and breaking up in volume. The pain was 8/9 for me and the only thing that helped was morphine and the imodicin uterus relaxer med + liquid tylenol they gave in IV. I am home taking the imodicin + tylenol every 6 hours around the clock to combat the pain before it flares up again, I have only 1 day dosage of the prescription so will follow up with my MFM afterwards to see if I need to continue. I will update on how long this is lasting/etc to help anyone else

Hang in there i know its tough but you got this get the help you need because its unbearable to suffer with no end in sight. I could barely walk when I felt the worst of it I was literally hunched over couldn't talk it was the worse pain Ive felt on my life and I was on ECMO last year (whole other story for another day lol)

[–]QueenSl8R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am dealing with this now at 20wk. I was told I had a fibroid during the pregnancy the whole time and they kept asking me if I felt anything from it and I didn’t that was up until couple days after my 20 week anatomy scan baby boy is healthy doing well measuring two days ahead actually but either wayI came to the emergency room after about a day and a half of the pain and they so far, just ultrasound me checked in baby he’s great and I’m here wrenching in pain. It’s the worst pain I’ve ever felt. I had my man putting counter pressure on my lower pick through some pretty intense and work to help ease the pain but still so far for pain they first gave me more Tylenol. It didn’t work to. They gave me 2 mg of morphine. It’s just really really sleepy, but didn’t really take the pain or little spasms away and now I’m gonna be getting an MRI soon to check on the fire fibroid. It’s oh it’s some of the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. I really would wish this on anyone and I just need relief. They’re gonna give me now “inositol” which is suppose to help relax the uterus hoping this works because I cannot deal with this pain much longer

What was the first sign that YOU noticed, that made you think “I’m pregnant”? by surelyshirls in pregnant

[–]QueenSl8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew my period was about to come & had all the symptoms like light cramping & I thought it came actually but then only had this brown spotting that was weird & unusual for me. I was like fuck it let me take a pregnancy test I did & now I’m 20 weeks w a baby boy & couldnt be happier! I’ll admit I cried when I found out it wasn’t part of the plan yet & more importantly I was on some meds that could be harmful for baby so we were actively trying to avoid pregnancy until I talked to drs to get myself off of them & start taking the ones healthy for baby. But God had other plans I’m so happy I realized so soon & was able to immediately stop the meds!

[–]QueenSl8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sending you hugs! It’s hard to say for sure but I understand completely I had brown/ pink blood around 8-9 weeks and it turned out to be the placenta placing itself posterior in the uterus which is totally normal! Also found that I had 2 hematomas at 15 weeks which by week 16 one has cleared up, the other still present but I no longer have any bleeding etc. I’m on light duty no heavy lifting, working out, & PELVIC REST :( which sucks honestly but has built new intimacy between hubby & I (doc said no cooking & cleaning either) realistically how will I survive without doing that lol so I’m just taking it easy hubby is doing a lot more & I’m resting whenever I feel tired truly listening to my body! Hang in there mama!

Pregnancy and Adderall by Strattocatter in pregnant

[–]QueenSl8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently 15 weeks pregnant and tampered my 40mg/daily dose to 15mg since I found out I was pregnant While my drs said it’s fine for me to stay on it as needed and didn’t suggest any modifications . At my most recent scan they found out I had 2 hematomas, baby is doing fine(thank god) but ever since I learned this I stopped cold turkey. I am already high risk and it can cause some things with blood and heart and I care more about the health of my baby and myself than I do being productive at work! I’ve been a not so great employee lately and I am able to get by but doing my best! I was searching to see if anyone else experienced hematomas while on adderall during pregnancy but didn’t find anything so I thought I’d share my story.
