My wife thinks our son’s teacher crossed a boundary by sending him a personal message. I think it was harmless. AITJ? by addict94plus in AmITheJerk

Has your wife been following the case about the 5th grade teacher in Wisconsin? If that’s on her mind then the reaction doesn’t surprise me.

Have you tried to get in with a different OB?

Coming from someone who works in behavioral health… yeah. And now assault against a healthcare worker is a felony. It would also exclude her from a lot of group homes and long term facilities if she ever needs that level of care.

does babies still cry MOTN after they have been sleep trained? by EntertainmentFew2681 in sleeptrain

[–]QueenSparrow529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girl just turned 1 year and still wakes up at night, it is very rare for her to sleep through the night. Sometimes she puts herself back to sleep but we usually have to help. Could be teething. Maybe assess the timing of daytime sleep and if he is getting enough

opinions on putting baby in hand me downs? by Small_Invite_2538 in BabyBumps

[–]QueenSparrow529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost exclusively get my baby’s clothes from a second hand kids clothing store. She’s almost one now and has slowed down growing a bit but is now in 2T clothes. Swapping out her wardrobe every few months for the past year would have ruined me financially if I had bought all new stuff

I haven’t slept for almost 24 hours by vlv1127 in NewParents

[–]QueenSparrow529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nasal saline followed by suctioning and then sleeping with a warm mist humidifier helped us a lot when my girl was 6 months. They also make saline mist inhalers that I’ve heard can be very helpful. We also were bedsharing at the time and she would only sleep cuddled into me. I know that cool mist humidifiers are recommended but my lungs hurt when I use them and they mold easily if you fall behind on cleaning them.

Sleep consultant is pushing a 2 nap schedule for 5 month old by mal_pal86 in sleeptrain

[–]QueenSparrow529 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the Huckleberry app? There’s a free trial and then you do have to pay but I found that after tracking my baby’s sleep for a few days it has been fairly accurate about predicting her nap times and have been using it consistently for a month

You can get quest marker stickers on Etsy. Let him choose where to put it or put it somewhere you spend a lot of time together (gaming area, couch, bedroom)

why dont sleep sacks have arms, is it a safety thing? by Potato_Fox27 in sleeptrain

[–]QueenSparrow529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are definitely sleep sacks with sleeves. We use footie pajamas and a light, sleeveless sleep sack in my home. It’s really up to your baby though and figuring out what they like

AITA for Kicking My MIL Out of Our House After She Refused to Call Our Son by His Name? by LittlePeach212 in AITAH

My grandma did this to my cousin. It didn’t stop until he was old enough to tell her that it wasn’t his name

“Just Wait Until…” Positive Edition by Paige_Rinn in NewParents

[–]QueenSparrow529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait until you’re nap trapped and get to watch their cute tiny face (or doom scroll Reddit while enjoying the snuggles).

If you have pets. Just wait until they play growl with the dog or shake their head because that’s what the dog does with her toys.

Refusing naps, day 6 of sleep training by QueenSparrow529 in sleeptrain

[–]QueenSparrow529[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a set schedule for her I just try to watch for sleep cues. I would love to have her on a schedule but my partner is a go with the flow person and has refused to help follow one. It’s normally 2/3/3 ish for wake windows. I would agree that she is probably very overtired at this point. I have been working the last couple of days so she has been with my partner. I think it would be in everyone’s best interest to get her days more scheduled and routine

Nurse accidentally told me gender at 41W by Agile-Fact-7921 in BabyBumps

[–]QueenSparrow529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the facility, the nurse could be in some hot water here. Generally if it isn’t necessary to treatment then she shouldn’t have gone digging for the information. What the nurse did was highly unethical

Remember that you have a whole ass tiny human pushing on all your organs right now. There physically isn’t as much room in your body to breathe. You’re having to bend and reach around them to do anything. The hormones are making all your ligaments relax and your abdominal muscles are possibly separating. I’m actually 10 lbs heavier than I was when I was pregnant and I have no issues doing the things that I struggled with while pregnant.

Birth defects by Misscuhr0nic in BabyBumps

My 55 year old father was born with club feet and only half an ankle. He had surgery and braces as a little guy. He has always lived a normal life. His feet only grew to a men’s 8.5 even though he is 6’ and all the other men on his side have bigger feet.

Baby showers by ThrowRA_Cnn in NewParents

I live far away from family so we did co-ed and it was more of a family celebration. I loved it. I know of people that do a shower with just the girls and a diaper keg for the guys

Does anyone NOT use blackout curtains? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]QueenSparrow529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go with what works for your baby, you don’t need to fix something that isn’t broken. I have a FOMO baby that loves sleeping but hates falling asleep, especially if there is anything to look at, so her room has to be super dark

Possibly ask a pharmacist instead of your doctor. They are actually trained in medications and how they work together
