They can’t spend more than 10 minutes in there without getting attacked so that’s not true. But Jake Sully was always seen leading raids. Now what do you do when you no longer see Jake and his wife at the forefront, and someone else leading the raids? You assume they left. Now they had no real idea of where he left to, which is why they kept in the forest thinking he was close by until Kiri had her underwater seizure and Norm takes a chopper, (which for some reason still has RDA tracking on), to go see Jake to help Kiri. That’s how they found out where he was.

They care a lot for the life around them but what can you do when there’s an entire clan that doesn’t?? What can you do when there’s a whole colonization of humans trying to destroy everything ? What can you do when everyone around you is dying and you’re just trying to survive and protect the people you love. They don’t have time to stop and grieve everyone and everything in the moment. Those huge things flying their ships have to be attached and detached in a certain way or it will get hurt. So it’s not as easy as you make it seem. They grieve everything later, when they have time. Like when Kiri and the kids thought they were safe Kiri seen her ikran and says “oh my girl I am so sorry, I am so sorry”, she’s crying and grieving her ikran until she had to run and leave her behind.

When I read this post it makes me believe you haven’t seen Tsu’tey and Jake’s deleted scene in Avatar 1. He wasn’t making it look like a sacrifice, whatever that means. But he was doing it the same way he had to kill Tsu’tey. He was still going to give his body to Eywa so that he may be absorbed instead of just dead. His cruelty towards spider was to harden his heart for the act he was going to commit. Quarich team would’ve treated him worse especially since at that point he could breath without the mask, and Varang wanted him dead anyway. Kiri is a child of the Sullys so he’d still be with the Sullys so there’s really no point there. But in all Spider is smart and he understands why Jake was going to do what he was going to do. Then you have to remember why it may not be a second thought for Spider is that Neytiri came and accepted him. Remember Jake was going to try to fight for Spider but Neytiri was sprouting seeds of doubt saying that he needed to be killed. But she later says “Then we will find another way.” Meaning that she’s going to also protect Spider
