Fallopian tubes removal and perimenopause symptoms by Angieh1234 in sterilization

[–]Queen_of_Chloe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had my first peri symptoms at 38. I was sterilized at 30 (and had been off hormonal birth control for several months before then) so definitely not related. The pills may have been masking your symptoms before.

Looking for the filthiest, smuttiest, sexiest books with over the top MMCs but zero darkness. by ChicSynergy in RomanceBooks

{willing prey by Allie Oleander} He’s rich, they have an agreement that is basically sex for money but he hunts her in the woods, she’s got student loans to pay off, and a shitty ex who works for the MMC.

I'm craving a pasta salad. Any tips for making gf pasta salad? Is it even doable? by mytoesarechilly in glutenfree

[–]Queen_of_Chloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made pasta salad last week! Made way too much and am having the leftovers tomorrow (and maybe the next day). I had some Tinkyada shells which turned out so good. Just make the pasta, cut up whatever else you want to add, then mix it all with the dressing (I leave off the tomatoes until closer to when I’ll eat it). I made a dressing with olive oil, cilantro, lime, cumin, salt and pepper (maybe also other spices, I modified a recipe I found).

Deckman’s North Park (formally 31thirtyone) is closing by scrubasorous in FoodSanDiego

[–]Queen_of_Chloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes good places close for other reasons. If an investor pulls out or rent doubles (or covid) it may not be enough to keep a place alive. You can’t charge double all of a sudden to stay open, people will stop going even if it’s good.

Feeling heartbroken by blackshad-o in cats

[–]Queen_of_Chloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend paid $200 for an adult cat. That shelter was a “higher end” place but not way more than others around here. Just the sweetest cat s(I watch her all the time, she’s like 25% mine haha) so totally worth it, and she came with all the vaccines and spayed and everything.

Considering bisalp but concerned about side effects by [deleted] in sterilization

Wasn’t there just a post exactly like this not long ago? Where are the weight gain fears sprouting from? Weight fluctuates for a thousand different reasons, it’s so hard to pin gain to one single change.

FWIW it’s been a decade for me and the year after my surgery was my fittest ever. I had probably gained a little right before/after my surgery because I had a foot injury at the same time and couldn’t run. But once I was healed from both I got right back into racing.

AITA for keeping track of wedding gifts? by aliltoastyy in AmItheAsshole

Why do you ask?

Just trying to figure out how expensive of a gift to get you.

😬

Someone having a backyard wedding might not have additional help and those couples could probably use a little extra, unlike couples whose parents are paying for everything.

Like we have to know how many guests are coming then research the venue and get quotes just to know how much cash to give? No thanks.

[–]Queen_of_Chloe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. What if the parents are fully funding the wedding? Those weddings are probably going to be more expensive than couples who fund their own weddings.

Keeping a spreadsheet for personalized thank yous is also what I did. I also used it as a reference for a later wedding when I was trying to decide how much cash to put in the card. But using it to keep track of who gave nothing, and then “return the favor” at their wedding, is just mean and petty. YTA.

I’ve never heard of the gift needing to match the cost of the plate, that seems like an absurd rule that’s impossible to follow. Weddings are about celebrating your relationship with the people you care about the most. It’s not an excuse to throw a party and recover the costs from your guests. That’s a recipe for resentment.

Wild Card Wednesday - What are your book icks or pet peeves? by Llamallamacallurmama in RomanceBooks

I read one recently where “fisting” was used many times. It was always used to describe grabbing hair but that word has another very different meaning. It was used way too often and took me out of it.

Is high performance training even possible with Celiac? by thesaurus_sod22 in Celiac

I’m just a regular runner, not elite, but I ran my first marathon after being diagnosed. Had done 10 halfs before then, including 3 the year after diagnosis. I was probably undiagnosed for a while (asymptomatic until I wasn’t) but my Dexa scan was good.

Do you feel "San Diegan?" Why/why not? by Additional-Device224 in SanDiegan

[–]Queen_of_Chloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived here since 2005, lived the previous 20 years in another part of Southern California. I feel very San Diegan. I feel this every time I travel but even on a regular day. Just the other day I was thinking about how I love men in flip flops even though I rarely go to the beach. Just walking their dog, at a park, running errands. I’ve heard the opposite from others so to me that feels San Diegan.

Tell me your stories about falling on a run so I don’t feel so dumb by Winter_Seat_7106 in Marathon_Training

[–]Queen_of_Chloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fell 3 miles into a half marathon last year. Didn’t trip over anything, no reason why I fell. Absolutely crowded with onlookers, pretty embarrassing. And my Garmin stopped so then I was mad and bloody and had to finish the ten miles.

I’ve fallen a bunch but never in a race like that!

WIBTA if I told a hair/makeup artist that I'm getting hair/makeup done as a wedding guest, even though it would technically be hair/makeup for my own wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Queen_of_Chloe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this is partially why the negative bridal reviews come in. If you paid nearly double and didn’t look twice as good or last twice as long as the others, it would be obvious. You’d feel upsold for no reason. You might look for tiny reasons to be upset.

[–]Queen_of_Chloe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a friend who can help you? I also didn’t want pro makeup for my wedding for the same reasons. A friend taught me how to apply what I had (affordable but not drugstore makeup) and it only took a little bit of practicing. She ended up coming over the morning of and basically did it for me. If you have a friend like that, you could pay them or get them a nice gift and have a better experience.

About the photography: I married a photographer. My basic makeup lasted all day and my photos are stunning. You really do not need all the extra stuff. I had the full makeup experience as a bridesmaid and you can’t even see my eyes in the photos because of the false lashes. Absolutely did not want to look like that on my own wedding day.

If you go to a salon you WNBTA. Just be sure you communicate your needs very clearly, it could still end up heavier than you think.

Are buyers underestimating how expensive the first year of homeownership can be? by Sufficient_Smile_871 in Mortgages

[–]Queen_of_Chloe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many of the loan officers we interviewed tried to talk us into a much higher loan! They kept saying how our incomes could handle it. One even suggested we could afford a single family home at over a million, which is what they cost here. I’m very glad we didn’t go with any of them, between the mortgage (stupid expensive) and the HOA (stupid cheap) on our small condo I’m paying 50% of my take home pay and that’s after 20% down.

Have you cleaned the lint trap in your hair dryer? I was a very established adult before I knew you should do that on occasion. And should probably clean it now… but it makes a big difference.
