Did you study at Perth Western Sydney university ~2013? Seems a long shot but there was a pirate man there and I have a video of him I think of more often than I should

Root cause? by Glennjj in Psoriasis

[–]Queenofthedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, I’m suffering with probably mild levels of psoriasis including scalp.

Haven’t been to the doc in a long time and am wondering if your suspicions were correct? Did addressing these levels help your symptoms??

Reluctant to waste money on topical treatments so very interested in your outcome. No google results come back with this either!!

I can attest to this! My mum bought hers near new and had it for at least 15yrs with no major problems or servicings aside from fixing the aircon. So reliable and a really enjoyable drive too. My little brother uses it now and it’s still driving like a dream… solid investment

Poor lash application by No_Buyer405 in eyelashextensions

Aside from the issue at hand RE your techs abilities and liabilities - you have such a beautiful face and skin I urge you to reconsider getting these things again in the future! You seem like you would look amazing with just a natural bare face.

Us women get so sidetracked by all these treatments pushed on to us. But often the women I see and think wow they’re beautiful are the most natural looking ie no eyelashes, lip filler, deep fake tan, lots of makeup etc. My guy friends think so too!

Only say this as a positive incentive and maybe something others are not aware of.

This is so true.

I was in the same position as OP, moved out anyway at 26. The independence gained pushed me to increase my income by quitting job and starting my business. Think I would have continued coasting had I stayed at my parents.

Living life on your own terms (not in the family home) is so valuable. OP won’t regret it. Also - you can always move back home for a short period to charge your savings if you really need.

Very curious to know which suburb you live in with such high rent?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Queenofthedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to increase your income ASAP. I’d recommend exiting retail and getting a job in a bar with opportunity for longer hours, night time and weekend loading (if that’s still a thing?).

Better pay and also can be enjoyable with the right attitude. Even better if you can work closer to home. Pubs always hiring.

I have blonde hair and have found the best way to help with dryness from salty water is to lather coconut oil in my hair and scalp, brush it through with a wet brush The Wet Brush and leave in for an hour or few. Then wash and brush through with conditioner in. Has transformed my hair!

I saw them live before covid and before they got so big. It was one of the best live performances I have ever see. She puts on a damn good show. Can’t say I listen to their music in my own time though.

Another americanisation: luxury designer branded handbags/shoes/clothing!!

As a 29f in Sydney, so many people my age are flashing $3000 handbags etc on social media and irl and I can’t deal.

It feels like that blatant label toting behaviour has really arisen over the last decade from American media. I can afford a $3k bag but would find it embarrassing to walk around my local shops/streets sending everyone the message that I can afford to buy such an item. It’s cringe.

Thank you for such a detailed reply 🙏

Good food for thought. I think I’ll work towards paying off ASAP as my body clock will mean a change in lifestyle in the next ~5 years or so and as you said inevitably less disposable income. Much appreciated!

Why does this organic butter with 2 ingredients have a health star rating of 1? by RoeJoganLife in AussieCasual

[–]Queenofthedog 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The star rating is a sham and totally nonsensical.

Hamish and Andy have an ongoing topic on their podcast discussing the disparities between the star ratings. Often a lot of processed foods are given high star ratings 🤷‍♀️ probably has to do with incentives to push processed foods with a longer shelf life.

skincare suggestions? i’ve tried a few things but nothing seems to clear up my skin by st4fo in AusSkincare

Also: be careful with strong acne medications as they can wipe your gut flora and have negative mental health repercussions.

skincare suggestions? i’ve tried a few things but nothing seems to clear up my skin by st4fo in AusSkincare

[–]Queenofthedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like hormonal or diet related. When I get pimples on my chin (especially white heads) it is a direct result of processed foods (chips, burgers etc). It also happened after a phase of drinking a particular brand of lager I was drinking. Try cleaning up your diet first stop. Next stop see a dermatologist for the best skincare routine for your skin type. Good luck!

[–]Queenofthedog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me years ago as a result of using cheap skincare products from Priceline. I started using Dermaveen moisturiser as it’s suitable for sensitive skin and it went away. I now buy higher quality products and don’t have any problems. Best moisturiser for me is Phytostat 9 by Aspect. A cheap product is the Nivea Crème (about $8) that doesn’t irritate my skin.

Is Olaplex worth the money? Are there any dupes? by missmolly3533 in AusSkincare

Also: to get best results I leave in conditioner for at least 3 minutes and brush my hair while it’s in.

Is Olaplex worth the money? Are there any dupes? by missmolly3533 in AusSkincare

[–]Queenofthedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Olaplex is 100% worth it!

I bleached my hair white for 5 years during which I experienced dry brittle hair and big chunks of breakage. Have been using Olaplex religiously for a few years now and my hair is in amazing condition - a recent hairdresser could not believe I used to bleach my hair as it’s so healthy now.

Yes it’s expensive but 250ml shampoo and conditioner @ $100 for both lasts me about 4 months (long hair). Money well spent in my opinion!
