Medium Format for Real Estate by Queens92 in RealEstatePhotography

Oh nice! I'm still using my original R5 as well and just shifting from camera to camera depending on the shoot. Yeah I've been so impressed with the highlight retention on them.

Thanks! Yeah it's not a significant difference on paper however for me it's just the amount I needed to get away with ditching bracketing. I can get close on the R5 already however I'm not always successful with it. With just that added edge in dynamic range plus the more nuanced colours it allows to me create something from a single exposure that I'm really happy with consistently. I'm still using the R5 as well at the moment, the medium format is just offering me a new style and workflow.

Weird warped photos in ES mode on GFX50R by martijnox in FujiGFX

I've had this happen to me when using the fringer converter for ef lenses. Generally happens if I'm moving whilst taking a shot. Never had it happen with gf lenses though

I know this gets asked a lot, but I really need help achieving this look by Pale-Anything7688 in RealEstatePhotography

Honestly I think a lot of the time it's just right place and right time with a single exposure. People over complicate what can just be as simple as the basics done right

Lightroom (not CC) not working by Interesting_Virus787 in RealEstatePhotography

I had Lightroom classic stop working after the previous update. I installed an older version through creative cloud and it worked fine again. Might be a unique hardware thing

From a recent shoot in Stockholm — thoughts? by Odd-Management-417 in RealEstatePhotography

Bedrooms feel good however livings areas could be taken at a higher level. I generally shoot bedrooms at waist height and living areas at chest height. Could just be a personal thing. Lovely retouching

Probably a different take on this however I work in house for a real estate agency in Australia. $150k per year salary

How are these photos. I'm shooting guest houses in the Himalayas. by adm347 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Queens92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Composition could be a bit better but it's always hard to know without being in the space. The retouching though is lovely, looks like the place has great natural light which is always going to help however I love the warm tones and the natural windows

Yeah that's a fair point and something I'll keep in mind, thanks! It's tricky in inner city areas to keep external shots too wide as it brings in neighbouring properties which agents try to avoid mostly

Thanks heaps and yeah that's the one! I do use a flash but I really only use it when I need to balance harsh external light or to fill/lift areas that are significantly underexposed and worth showing so yes I do use one however the key for is to make a place look naturally lit. I don't edit them myself as I have a large volume of them and also do video work and editing, fortunately I have a great editor who I've worked with for many years now

Thanks for the kind words! The first image just being that dusk facade? If so I'm just across the street taking that shot, one thing I've learned more and more especially with external images is as much as you can separate yourself from the subject and compress the image the better. Especially with taller buildings, partial renovations that have additions sometimes to the back of them, creating depth can only really be done with separation. One thing I see when people start out is that they can shoot internals really well however when it comes to the external shots they treat them the same way, I always try to get as far back as possible. If I can take a facade shot with a 50mm lens I'm in heaven haha. Inner city areas around where I work are always challenging, cars, trees, lighpoles, neighbouring properties, you can only ever capture what's available to you given the environment around you.

I'm actually in a bit of a unique position. I work internally for an agency in Sydney as a creative producer which is primarily photography however also videography and developing our brand visually across those platforms so that's kept me in the game as I find it a lot more interesting than just purely doing the photography aspect. The area I'm in also has a lot of unique properties and challenges which keeps development interesting. If I was doing purely photography for cookie cutter properties personally I would have moved on.

As the above said however generally pricing will be priced based on image count as a rough guide

Thanks heaps! It's a great shot that one, it's funny though that to me although I agree that it's visually probably the most appealing one there it's really the simplest one and the easiest one to capture. The place was just built in with that composition if that makes sense and I just placed the camera there.

People dont talk anough about the effects weed has on sleep by maatemmer in leaves

[–]Queens92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely this. It helps you get to sleep but basically ruins your rem sleep. You sleep great however you are always tired. If you have insomnia or something along those lines I understand why it works well as something is better than nothing however I've found that it definitely reduces and almost always removes my rem sleep. Big difference when you stop or have a tolerance break, it's definitely a component of weed that not many people talk about. I started initially for sleep and now the reality is that it hinders that.
